I use to have a HP printer/scanner that was much easier to use but it broke after a couple of months. I liked it because I could chose a file name that meant something to me. With the Canon I am stuck with meaningless numbers for the file name (but it will let me scan multiple pages into one file). The HP was just one file for each page. Both Canon and HP are hard to use and not intuitive. Lots of steps to memorize. The video did help.

Nick, maybe you can answer my question that even Canon could not. Does this model (MG2522) have the capability to scan multiple, two-sided pages using the auto-document feeder? Scanning one-sided docs, one at a time, by placing it on the glass, closing the lid and hitting start each time is bananas in 2024.
Multiple two sided scans is not support. One sheet, one side at a time for this printer scanning function.

Thank you for the video. I have had my printer for a couple years now and have yet to figure out to scan until now. The instructions that come with the printer are not helpful at all.

hey nick, i was wonder if it wasa possible to add more USB inputs in a laptop and if you could make a video about it.
You can buy a USB hub with multiple USB ports that will plug into your laptop USB port so you can always have your Canon printer connected to your laptop.
I have the Canon MG2522 and installed the programs, BUT the IJ Scan Utility did not get installed. Would you have any idea why that happened? I tried searching on Canon support website but nothing.

How do you scan an ID like front and back to print in the same page?
This printer doe not print on both sides of paper at same time.
I need to find the document in my computer in order to attach it to an email. How can I find it? It did not save in my downloads folder.
Open File Explorer and look in Documents folder or do a search in File Explorer for your file.
size of a very small document I scan with my new Canon Pixma MG2522 is around 13 MB size. It is larger than my previous scans of the same size documents around 2.3 MB with my previous HP scanner. My email allows attachments size of 10 MB max. Due to the large size of the scanned document; I cannot attach it to my email and send it. How can I reduce the MB size of scanned document so I can attach it to my email and send it ??
There are websites and whatnot that you can use to bring down the size of a document, but the easiest way to reduce the size of any photo or document is just to take a screenshot of it and send that screenshot instead!
I was going to thank you for making the video. Unfortunately my computer is stupid and doesn't allow me to follow the instructions. "canon utilities" isn't in my menu. Or anything else Canon related. Yes it's plugged in. I just took several minutes after typing the previous sentence to find ANYTHING at all related to my printer (which I just used to print some things) on my machine. Nothing. That makes no sense at all seeing as I was able to use it, and it also gave me a notice after plugging in a fresh ink black cartridge that the 'headers were not aligned' which means it IS capable of sending info to my computer.
Nothing can ever be easy with anything official I ever try to do. Yippee. Well, back to the drawing board....
I found out the issue! Because I was able to print from it immediately I'd thought that the disc it was sent with (which I couldn't use with this machine anyway because it lacked a disc drive. Still need to get an external disc drive...) was redundant. Turns out that I needed to install some drivers first.

Canon is really terrible at providing scanning software on their website. Any idea where I can find their utilities on their website? I didn't get a CD with mine!

This printer is not Apple mac compatible. The Canon MG2522 has no WiFi. What for chromebook? and i dont know where to find the adress
Unfortunately, Chromebook is not supported by this Canon MG2522 printer. Chromebooks use Google Cloud Print to print, so the printer needs to be Google Cloud Print compatible. It also needs to be a wireless/wifi connected network printer and not USB connected. The MG2522 does not support Google Cloud Print and is not Wireless.
