Have you watched the whole special yet? This song directly leads into the ending of Inside and I have this burning urgency to make sure you watch it lol. Not even for a reaction, I just want you as a fellow human being to experience the whole special, and especially the ending since you were so moved by this song. I’ve seen the whole special about 40 times by now!

Musically there is a beautiful moment when he says "Do returns always diminish?" He plays a diminished note there. And the last bit there, where he is naked, It's genius because he just spent the whole special being vulnerable with us and now he is vulnerable physically while we all pick it apart.

This is probably my favorite song of the special. The call backs, the emotion. Really ties it all together.
I really hope this isn't a true goodbye from Bo.

I personally think it's not the end of Bo at least I hope not, I think he is till helping humanity to awaken while performing in such a way that we look upon it as if he is talking about himself when in reality, he 's talking about all of us. and in this way, I've always said, Bo above all else is an Educator and things are not always as they appear to be on the surface. then I think. I could be wrong and way off base with my thoughts, I honesty don't know. but I truly believe many people read in to all this wrong and feel sadness for Bo, but in this, it's opening up new emotions that humanity has forgotten about or lost within all the chaos of everything going on.

It’s kinda a wild thing happening like how he said “wanna guess the ending if it ever does” so bo doesn’t even know if this the ending of him and he had the whole special tied up to one last song and Bo made it seem like an ending and again not even Bo knows if he is gonna stop

My coping mechanism for dealing with my MH issues is to make jokes about...anything and everything. During group therapy sessions, if I have to speak, I usually try to make light of my most difficult problems. Sometimes I get a chuckle, and that feels nice. Most of the time it ends with me watching blank faces whilst I finish my sentence with an apology. Then I go home and ruminate on that failed interaction, figuratively torturing myself over it for days at a time. It's painful how much I relate to telling a joke and having no one laugh. Literally and figuratively.

    • @enochkenner4071
      @enochkenner4071 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I'm the same way. A group therapy session doesn't seem like a good "crowd" to crack those jokes to. But to my friends, I do. Being a music graduate though, I dump most of my MH issues in my . Dark, depressive, messed up lyrics. If you need an outlet, I've often vented to strangers because they don't know me and are unbiased. I'll talk.

Modulated Voice: "Well, well, look who's inside again, went out to look for a reason to hide again. Well, well, buddy you found it. Now come out with your hands up, we've got you surrounded."
    He's naked and on display.
At the end of the special, he leaves his house only for another spotlight to shine on his porch. He then panics and tries to claw his way back into a locked door with a crowd laughing in the background.
The entire point of "Inside" was that he never wanted to be in there, and in being forced, slowly lost his mind trying to rationalize himself and the world imploding around him.
And when you combine modulated lyrics with the others from Funny Feeling" "Total Disassociation, fully out your mind. Googling de-realization and hating what you find." You come to find the truth of everything.
No one has any tangible grasp on reality, and everything we think we know only makes sense in as far as we're willing to accept in our personal narrative. Nothing is real anymore, and most importantly. No one seems to care.

I love the "Well well look whos inside again." Line
He is referring to how he started performing and gaining fame when he was just a quiet introverted kid at 14 in his room and at the height of his fame, and equally his anxieties, he finds himself again in his room shut away from society trying to find a way out.
      So deep.
Dont know if i put that correctly. Hopefully the point gets across

Also, when I watched the special, I didn't catch the very last line... "Come out with your hands up we got you surrounded."
It makes me reconsider the intent of his brief violent outburst during the line, "Put your fuckin' hands up, I said put em up".

  • @bulletdancestorm554
    @bulletdancestorm554 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

The song takes those lines from "Welcome to The Internet", "Comedy", "Look whos inside again". It really is a bookend song and ties the whole special together. And if its true based on the start of the song where he says unfinished ending song, then he wrote all the songs together as one whole complet set. The same lines he used in earlier songs get a new meaning as part of the end song contextually, after the previous songs "That Funny Feeling" and "All Eyes on Me"

    >Can someone else save humanity?
I think this is the underlying question posed by "Comedy" (one of the opening songs of the special). He hears a divine voice (his own) telling him to heal the world with comedy, although he doubts that he's the most appropriate choice for the role (his disembodied voice reassures him), and he has doubts that comedy is able to achieve this. Perhaps, the whole thing is to point out the rediculousness of hoping for a celebrity, even a genius comedian, to fix our problems for us.

the way these 2 years have isolated us socially has lasting consequences. considering this years statistics so far, i recon it wont end any time soon.
im not entirely happy with the new always online social life i have. but already it seems like there is no real alternative to the inside. there just is no outside to go to anymore

Wanna know what will save humanity? Accepting the fact that we’re all just animals like the rest of them. We aren’t any different and sharing this wonderful planet with everything else instead of pretending to control it… he nailed a line in another song, ‘20,000 years of this and 7 more to go’. 20,000 years ago we figured out how to manipulate nature and it signed our destructive end. Do we really only have seven more to go?

This song is one of my favorites as a music graduate. The way he transitioned different songs from the special at the end was amazing. I don't think it is goodbye from him. The beginning clip of this song said it was a, "possible ending song that is not yet finished". His hair and beard were significantly shorter too then faded to his longer hair and beard. He also had the clips of him setting up his other songs, showing how much time has lapsed since he started writing that song. "All Eyes on Me" says that he feels better though to start performing again (which I think is the song before this one).
The line, "I'll panic, call me up and tell me a joke" I think is him reaching out to say that he knows the world is in pain, people are filled with pain, and he feels his comedy is all he can do to help it. Also feel like it has a double meaning with he needs our help if he asks. Just cause he is rich (always talks about giving away his money) doesn't mean he is okay mentally.
Love your reactions, Guy! Sorry for this novel of a comment 😂😂😂 but to affirm and agree with your statement. It is okay to be wrong, because interpretation is life. We all interpret different and it doesn't mean that either view is wrong or right. What he was going for was to make you think and it did 🤘🤘🤘

I have a thought about the structure of the way the videos/songs are in order. The few times we hear the heavy autotune effects on his voice are in Comedy, All Eyes On Me and this one. I think the whole album is written and arranged to be related to one song or another. But the first time we hear the voice is in Comedy, and its a representation of Divinity. What i can only assume what we see is him having a discussion with God about how he can heal the world with his comedy, and that is his purpose here. Messages of hope in a bleak world. The second time we hear the voice is In All Eyes. The song itself is seeped in religious tone. Hands up, pray for me, and in a sense, I kinda of see this is as him suggesting that his comedy is the way God speaks through him, using his brilliant gift of insight and depth and heart wrapped up in a painfully tragic soul. But again as the album goes on and the tone darkens, so does his approach and you hear the rage in his voice when he says Get up. Whos he talking to? The audience? Whats with the aerial camera view from up above? Nothing in this guy's performance is done accidently. He is too well organized and purposeful in his presentation of his art for that not to have some kind of significance.
In this song, the voice comes at the end and the voice is almost punitive, and its the darkest out of the times we hear that voice, and the imagery we see is the spot light on him, and he's completely naked. Are we naked in the eyes of God when we die. Are we born naked as a miracle of God. Its almost like This Funny feeling is kind of like hes coming to terms with it all, and its all convoluted and the world is upside down and just trying to make sense of it all, and that leads into this song. Again, hes not one to waste an opportunity to make a subtle and explicit point about something that seems trite, but is actually a clue when we should pay closer attention. Hes very good at misdirection in his visual presentation.
Ive had a number of friends that were just like him. Brilliant, talented, smart, quick, savvy, and they're all dead now. They were too bright to live in this dark and morbid reality. And they burned out too quickly. But for Bo. Im so glad that he got a handle on whatever devil he dances with. Hes a once in a generation talent and hes one of those people that youre glad you were alive at the same time they were, cause you realize that things just might not be the same without them here. And on a side note the color scheme and lighting he uses in Comedy to represent the voice of god is also what he uses in the Kanye rant song at the very end when he ends the show showered in that same color and light combo. But hey, its just a thought. yall have a good day.

There's one line that almost everyone misses (which was just literally just pointed out to me) because the last syllable is actually split into the next line.
"When I'm fully irrelevant and totally broke--en, damnit, call me up and tell me a joke"
He's concerned about losing his relevance and money... But underneath it all... He's just afraid he's broken. How utterly heartbreaking.

Bo's performances are irritating in one way. He performs on stage and says "Look at me." But then he throws shade and is like "Hey, stop looking at me it's fucking me up." lol
I'm joking on the irritating part, but I almost feel bad watching him because of what it does. It must be hard wanting to perform and create songs and specials, but then it take such a toll on yourself.
