In Autumn 2024 I climbed Ama Dablam, a 6,814-meter peak in the Mahalangur Himal of the Khumbu region in the Himalayas (Everest region). The characteristic mountain is also known as the Matterhorn of the Himalayas. This mountain had long been the summit of my dreams, and I’m thrilled to have made that dream a reality.
This is the second part of my three-part documentary of my Ama Dablam expedition. After leaving the Everest Base Camp trek, we headed towards the Base Camp, from where we undertook several acclimatization tours. To properly prepare for the mountain, we first conducted a Puja ceremony. Afterward, we ascended to the notorious Camp 2 and climbed for the first time on the steep southwest ridge of Ama Dablam. This served as a perfect acclimatization for the summit attempt, which will be shown in Part 3.
