I believe they already have done, as per the part about the HD sticks being sold in Germany and what is shown in the top right hand corner of the Amazon page advertising these.
You don't need a plug for firetvsticks they work perfectly well in the UK from the USB on the television I have three all work faultlessly from the USB port on the TV
According to several German websites I've checked, fire sticks¹ are still very much available over there. 😇 (¹ - Of course; By this I mean _Streichholz_ as opposed to _4K media streaming devices..._ 🔥😉)
Surley Amazon are licencing Nokia's IP? and if they were not I would expect Nokia would be filing court cases against them, or at least a cease and desist, I would also have expected Amazon to have come to some agreement with Nokia before they took them off the virtual shelves.
I had a look at these on Amazon and These GT Kings are £139.99 on Amazon the top firestick is only £44.99 currently. Ironically one of the reviews I just read for them said "Wish I had just bought a firestick!" 😂😂😂😂
@@lablackzed If you try downloading ITVx app from the Play store then Open it does it allow you to sign in? I get a message to say the device is not licenced.
He said Germany guys , not UK or USA
But I do go on to say that a case is being filed in UK, USA and India, so this could happen.
whats the difference there all breaking the law
Seems like they have to take Amazon to court in each country individually they want to stop them.
For now
still available in the US!
But as the video says it could face the same fate as Germany soon!
Nokia is being a patent troll, they are not even a main patent holder. MPEG LA doesn't even list them as a patent licensor.
I think Nokia ar competing against MPEG LA and licensing the patent themselves.
Amazon could offer to add the brand logo Nokia to the 4K Fire TV Sticks as well as pay the patent licence fees.
Yes they could but Nokia are demanding more money than all of the other patents they have to pay put together, Amazon won’t pay this.
@cwtek1 Amazon net worth is 100 times greater than Nokia and Amazon could easily buy out Nokia in the same way a Nokia executive would buy a sandwich.
@safirahmed Yes true but Amazon are shrewd they don't want to bow down to a company that is demanding well above the market rate for a patent.
@@cwtek1 I wouldn't bow down either.
Still available in Canada
Lets hope they are not planning stop them in Canada next!
Is this something Amazon could switch off with a software upgrade?
I believe they already have done, as per the part about the HD sticks being sold in Germany and what is shown in the top right hand corner of the Amazon page advertising these.
Sounds like patent trolling to me
Yes it is, Amazon are holding firm at the moment as if they give in to this who knows what else they could hold them for in future.
You don't need a plug for firetvsticks they work perfectly well in the UK from the USB on the television I have three all work faultlessly from the USB port on the TV
But what if you had to buy one from Abroad and found you couldn't install UK based apps?
I 've attemped to do this on my three relatively new TV's and they won't work this way I must plug the in to house power.
Not recommended for the newer sticks, you could end up with a boot loop situation.
Imagine buying one and the BBC iplayer app isn’t promoted first and foremost 😅
😅

Yes that’s correct as the video says it’s just Amazon that have been banned from selling their own sticks,
What about registration and startup.
That’s fine.
They r in tvs now for example I have a Toshiba fire tv
The order only covers sticks for now.
No, that's just a Toshiba television that was made in Britain to the _UKCA_ standard... 📺🇬🇧🔥😉
Looks like only sertin countries being ban. But still available elsewhere.
This could escalate to other countries if Nokia don’t get their own way.

Amazon are not wanting to bow down to Nokia and pay what they see as an unreasonable fee.
WAIT , WHAT 😮😮😮
I know!
Wait.... WHAT??? :O I hopefully not banned in Canada and Still available in Canada. thanks for let me know
Canada is not on the planned list of court orders at the moment, but obviously that could change.
Banned In Boston!!
Banned in Berlin at the moment Boston could be coming soon depending on the outcome of the court case.
I use a Nokia Android box.
I understand they are pretty good but not great for UK specific TV apps.
Firesticks 😂😂😂😂dump them ages ago my GT King burns them.
I had a look at these on Amazon and These GT Kings are £139.99 on Amazon the top firestick is only £44.99 currently. Ironically one of the reviews I just read for them said "Wish I had just bought a firestick!" 😂😂😂😂
@cwtek1 You can do more with a GT king that a fire stick can't hence the price difference even the Onn stick and box burn stick's I have them all .
@@lablackzed I do have an Onn 4k Box which is great, although because its not designed for the UK I cannot easily get BBC iPlayer or iTVx etc.
@cwtek1 Using a VPN work's I live out side the UK and can get them .
@@lablackzed If you try downloading ITVx app from the Play store then Open it does it allow you to sign in? I get a message to say the device is not licenced.
Honestly better android tv stick. I got fire tv stick 4k max 2 week ago. i can install many apps On fire stick but not work correctly.
Android TV sticks in the price range of firesticks which allow UK apps to be installed are just not available in the UK.
Ccry me a river😂😂😂😂😂
😂
