    Sky diving tickets sort of make sense to pay over installments if things go wrong.

    I only use Afterpay for things for my kids. I paid for my kids school clothes and Christmas presents. Each of my kids clothes cost about 500 dollars this year. It felt incredible not telling my kids to be selective with what they wanted for school. I made sure to go shopping when there were sales. I’ve never been late and it’s all almost paid off for Christmas. It’s really easy to tell desperate humans not utilize a tool when some of you don’t have to.

    My husband and I both did affirm before. We’ve done it for a computer, TV and Truck Tires. Never again! We’ve paid down a lot of our debt. Now we are close to being debt free. I refuse to go through all that again. As much as it may hurt to pay it in full. It will be less stressful in the end! I hate payments!! We were so so Irresponsible in our early 20s. Now we are in our late 20s.. we’ve are SO much better with our $.

    Buy now pay later made sense when it was on large purchases (I know, still not a good idea in most cases). But now it is just the newest version of credit cards. I find it annoying how much it is pushed every time I make an online purchase.

    Anytime somebody says interest-free I recommend you turn around and run away from it there is always some sort of small print catch that they forget to mention

    Before I was doing the baby steps I used Affirm to buy car tires at walmart , used camera equipment, and home laptop. All paid off now. They tease you with no interest on certain time frames. Or if you pay it off early you don't have to pay the interest

    I see that Afterpay option whenever I buy clothes online and I purposely ignore it. I refuse to be on a payment plan for clothes. Just crazy. Great video, Rachel!

    The other day, I went to an upscale outdoor mall in Scottsdale, AZ and ALL of the decorative banners around the property were for Klarna...! I was there just to buy one thing from Sur la Table (they have the best little silicone scrapers!), but couldn't help thinking that Klarna must be making a lot of money from people not paying if they could afford all that advertising :(

      All that is required for Salvation is to turn to Jesus Christ in prayer, declare with your voice that He is LORD and that you believed He died for your sins and rose from the grave - that's all. Your soul is eternal and is going to spend Eternity somewhere - you decide xx

    HI Rachel nice show, I am from Germany and watching some of you videos, great job.
    One of the worst things you can spend your money is paleton it think. For example you pay 2000 € / Dollar for a home training bike with bad quality. You can get some good training bikes at ebay or on other seconad hand shops in the internet for und 100 Dollar. And mostly they are in very good conditions. I bought some of this home cycling bikes for 80 Euros, it is 10 Years old, and it is in very good conditions. I think i can exercise the next years on it :D! And if you need some motivation, you can find enough videos for free on youtube.

    Ok. Facts are facts. Knowledge is power. Afterpay is not cheaper for consumers.
    Example: A merchant sells you a $2000 TV, they will not absorb $120 (6%) for you to pay later. But if you like they will sell you the tv for $2120 and pay later if it will give you peace of mind.

    School supplies? What ever happened to the school (which your taxes pay for buy the way) supplying the students the things they need and anyway what is the teacher going to do if you have the gall to send junior to school without the laundry list of stuff they're supposed to have

    • @nataliestark8243
      @nataliestark8243 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Often times the schools are not adequately funded and the teacher, who is already not paid very much, is shelling out of their own pocket to cover expenses when students don't bring their supplies list.

    I think it depends on the items, like couches etc, if it's at zero interest... But pizza, gas lol, clothes... No, you should have that money.

    • @CDTucker336
      @CDTucker336 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can't save up for couch in full you can't afford it. A good rule is to have saved at least twice for something to buy it once.

    • @conquistador2
      @conquistador2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CDTucker336 there are some places that offer, pay in 6 months to 2 years at no interest, so I don't see the problem unless you can't save the money. Even if you have the money, why not just wait, no harm.

    • @youtubeacc
      @youtubeacc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@conquistador2 because what happens if you lost your job during that time of paying your “0% interest” couch? Read your fine print and suddenly you’re not 0% anymore and you’re missing payments and now you’re really in trouble. Had you just of paid for it in cash that wouldn’t have happened. If you can’t pay cash then you can’t afford it

    Buy Now, Pay latter has been around forever, I remember Kohls and Sears had active counters just for that. but putting gas & food on payment plans? They can't take them back and deal with all the back end logistics, so it's a perfect cash grab for them. They either get their payments, or they get their fees & interest. They are money grubbing.

    Quick gratification is costly, and this young generation wants no pain, so they gain the pain of debt.
