JB thats a great video. I appreciate the attention to detail that you apply to your work. One of lifes mysteries has been solved for me. Ive wondered how those wooded spool boards/planks were made. Thanks for sharing brother.
Thats pretty cool. Secondary balance is often forgotten. Its what creates that high speed torsional forces. Same with an engine. V-engines are far from balanced thats why the filets get bigger the farther out from center. 🤔 You gave me an idea for a video.
good to get back to watching your channel......cheers,,grinding the knives to the head makes sense to me...I am getting ready to install knives in my [new to me] 13" Rockwell Delta [1970 era] planer and wish I lived near you.....I am missing the special tool that the manual says to use...wish me luck.....Paul
I get my wheels from Radiac abrasives. The only draw back is they make you buy a bunch at a time. You may be able to get some from a local store industrial supply store.
Wisconsin Knife Works is where I bought my blanks. If you want them profiled they can do that also. You can also get them from Byrd tool. Hope this helps.
Cool stuff! Great explanation on how they work! Folks don't see this stuff everyday! Great video JB!👍
I like how that first template fit your belly profile just right.

Nice work JB. I can never understand why places don't want to spend a few extra dollars for better quality.

They make a tool called a planner pal. It sits on the head and holds the knife in place with a magnet. You may want to check into a set.
good stuff JB
Thank you JB.
Can you explain what type of stone is used for grinding vs sharping stones . where to buy them etc...
