As a New Zealander, I can honestly say that the young Indian lads we have over here, are some of the nicest, hard working and industrious people you could ever want to meet! I feel like western countries lure these poor people in on false hopes of residency and riches, and use them as a taxable commodity to prop up our own economy! Seriously guys, there’s so much competition for places over due to rampant, uncontrolled immigration, that I wouldn’t waste my time and money making the trip over. Worked with too many young Indian lads who sadly regretted it!

New Zealand's reality = If you do post graduation and have prior experience of 2 years in India then expect a search of 2-3 months after your course to get a job. I got a full time job 4 months after graduation. It was difficult and ass busting. But if you have lower than masters degree it is difficult to get a job here (I agree). But be positive, create a friend circle of local people who can support you and ready to give references as getting a job here is in direct proportion to the amount of face to face networking you do.

I can relate to the story as I went through the same 19yrs ago in Auckland. Couldn't finish study because I couldn't pay the fees from random jobs. And decided to return back to India as there is no globalization or industrialization, makes it hard to get any job other than shopkeeper or fast food. Saying that it's most beautiful country with 0% pollution I would love to retire there in an ideal world!

  • @DJosh20
    @DJosh20 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

I lived in New Zealand for more then two years and have similar experience. After one year of IT course I went to Auckland and was working in sales but it is very tough job (door to door salesman) Which is where most of indians works as there are no jobs. Its a very small country and have no job for locals so what can you expect for foreigners. If you work for any Indians then they are cheats and will make you work extra hard and will not pay you. If you get a chance to work with a white man then you should count yourself lucky because he may give you less work but he will pay you full. Educational qualification in New Zealand has no value as this country is not known for the quality for the education. Local people are very nice but thats about it. If you have solid work experience in IT, dairy, farming, nursing then you stand greater chance to succeed in NZ. If you lack in skills then there is nothing but cleaning jobs await you and there also lots of competition. In jobs first preference is given to locals or permanent residents, which is not wrong because that is what happens in all the countries. Mostly they dont differentiate whether you an Indian or kiwi. If you have skills then do not be afraid. But New Zealand is know for quality of life and not a country where you will be living extravagant life. If you have got skills with experience and want to lead a life in peaceful, clean beautiful country then you should go to NZ. Hope it helps...

    Very true words...
Life in India is the best
We People's in India believe that life out of India would be wonderful (we dreams) but the reality is that after going abroad we will cry.
If any Western countries Person comes to India, we follow our rituals (athithi devo bhawa) but when we Indian go to abroad those persons treat us like a slave or a beggar and so on.
Better live in India, earn less but live with your own self respect.

Mr Arpit Agarwal, and all aspiring students who wish to study overseas. Clear ur mind and understand that u are not doing any favour to NZ, Aus, Canada or any western country by choosing to study there. You are going Overseas on your own account, never assume that roads in western countries will be made by Gold and Diamond. Choose your course wisely, because that is the most important decision in ur life. Country will only absorbe you if u bring skill which is not or little available locally. Indians have worked hard and achieved some great results in NZ. JUST BECAUSE U DO NOT FIT INTO NZ'S CRITERIA, IT'S MEANINGLESS TO BLAME COUNTRY.

This is the most GENUINE reply the guys exact wordings are mine. I came here just in thought that it’s a small country with less people so will get jobs easily.
Indeed, it’s totally different you have to keep working as a cleaner.
    Thing to note is
    You will find mostly immigrants
From China India Fiji Tonga Samoa.
Natives New Zealanders typically islanders they don’t work here. Only whites are having the white collar jobs or people who are born here.
I have so many examples I have been here for 3 years now. Even Visa changes will not let you gain anything accept get your back hurt like he said I. Video and that’s so true it really happened with me.
I have an Indian boss at work she is still finding hard for her Vietnamese daughter to get a PR over here and she has been here since 10 years.
One and only best advice - Try to go to Canada or somewhere you have relatives or even if you have someone here who guarantees something you should put money on this game

I think you are wrong and I should say, you’re over reacting.
New Zealand is a developed country (it ranked in world top 10 contries, even US ranked 18th! ) and they want smart, cleaver and hardworking people (Doctor, Engineer Lawyer Nurse etc) who can earn for employer and not proven a burden on the organisation.
It’s a very honest country. I’ll give you an example. When I came here initially I didn’t find any job about 3 months and spend my own money to live here which I was brought from India. After about a month, one day I was shifting my living place to another place. (Cheap renting place as I didn’t have any job) unfortunately during shifting I dropped my money bag somewhere in which there was approx NZ $13,000 (equivalent to INR 250,000/- in 2001) I was so disappointed and didn’t know what to do? As per our Indian practice, I avoid to go to police but in my surprise next day at around 9 in the morning, a police came to my place searching me ( as we started to live at new apartment) He asked me for my ID etc. I gave him my ID etc and then he asked me, have you lost anything? I said yes yesterday I lost my money and documents! The shocking thing was for me was not that he returned my all money as well as documents but when I asked him how he got my bag, he replied that someone found it around my old place on the way and who found my bag he submitted it to the police station. I asked him who found the bag? As I wanted to thanks him but he replied, he got instruction by the person (who found my bag) not to disclose his ID!!!!! It have been almost 18 years but I don’t know who that honest man was? This is New Zealand.
After about 3 months I got a job but they paid me $13 an hour. In those days minimum wage was $9 an hour in New Zealand. When I started work after three weeks I find that my colleagues were getting paid $ 22 an hour and some of them have less experience then me! Initially I got frustrated but over a period I realise that where you work and live, you need knowledge of some basic work ethic which initially we don’t have.
The biggest different I notice were English accents. Our way of speaking and kiwi speaking style has a big difference. Second big difference was work efficiency! We in India use to work 3 to 4 hours max in eight hours however here almost 7 to 7.5 hours of hard working practice having by all employees, no matter you are a boss or a lower level person. In short, initially two to three year you have to work for getting use to of kiwi working style or say local work experience.
Third biggest difference here is a requirement of registration to work almost in every field of area. (Accept cleaner or a typist work etc). Even if you have valid qualification and experience, you need a registration to work in particular area or field. You have a valid qualification and experience and if you are from the country other than New Zealand listed. (US, UK, European and Australia etc) than you have to give a written and practical exam. I was a qualified electrical engineer and had 16 years of experience when I came here but they asked me to give a written and practical test exam to get registration. It was, Monday to Friday 8.0 to 3.30pm. Once I cleared all exams I got my registration and I got a good well paid job.
All in short, if you are a an average guy New Zealand is not for you as if they want to hire an average person than they have a lots of KIWI who can work for them very easily. You need to prove yourself an extraordinary person than they’ll hire you very easily.
Anyone wants to come here in NZ, fill free to contact me.

Sir, is New Zealand the best country for Tourism studies?
If yes, then I also ask, do they pay well after my education is completed? Or do they offer jobs for people like me? What is the difference between working in Auckland and other parts of New Zealand? Does salaries vary? Please do reply once you get this message.

I understand why Indians want to get out of India, thinking better life, riches, houses etc, the truth is, NZ or any other western country is not your way out.
If you can't make it where you're from, what makes you think you'll make it anywhere else? Whatever you're taught is not the reality. Make your own country great before embarking on other options. Whatever you've been lead to believe about NZ isn't all true.
There is no land of milk and honey. Sometimes it's better to be safe, happy and belonging than to be sorry working your bones to pretend to be successful which is what I see here. You want to be rich so bad that you all pretend and ridicule your own people once you make it out of India.
You can't take money with you when your time is over.

      The Answer is NO
You have taken it in other way.
Your tanding on the west side of the globe where it may be night and its day in our country , that dosent mean ur wrong if you say night nor i am wrong if u say its day.
The person whome ur saying cant do in his own country has almost invested 25lac which is a saving a person can do after may be 10 years
So he wants others to know the same

India me puri zindagi struggle karne ko ready ho but abroad jake 2nd day tumhe har chiz chahiye??? how?? bhai struggle har jagah hai aur mehnat karni pdti hai har chiz ke liye bethe bethe to tumhare gharwale tumhe kuch nahi dete!! tum struggling period me bhaag ke vapas jaa rahe ho aur logo ko galat information de rahe ho tumne apni struggle puri ki? pehle mehnat to karo himat to rakho sab chize apne aap hogi ! I feel shame for this guy! hope he's doing well now.

Damn bro, but in India you have reservation, that's why people spend 25 lacs and go abroad and then get depressed. If his talent is not recognised in New Zealand, atleast he can take heart in the fact that he's a foreigner, but in India, your motherland also, your merit may or may not be fully recognised. I think this is the reason India remains a mediocre place, imho.

Never really understand the obsession of some Indians with finding work out of India, if you really want to work India today offers much more oppurnuties. Be an entrepreneur, find a decent job. But seems some only go with an a mindset that if its a foriegn land money making is easy, value is higher, better prospects for marriage, away from home. These are what make them go out India or there is nothing today that India cant offer. I am amazed when i see people go to countries like Iraq, Syria etc for work leaving India. Working in India can offer your career he solid foundation it deserves to excel. Even if you go abroad and earn a few lakhs and come back, what purpose is it going to serve here, you may well have lost some years which had been rather invested here you could reap fruits later on.

If you want to enjoy summer then December to February is a good time to visit and if you wanna enjoy snow related activities then July to August is good. However of late weather has been not good. At the same time you can always go to Singapore for nice all year around fun, Malaysia is good too and Japan is very good for both summer and snow related activities.

I am a NZ citizen of Indian origin having moved here as a kid.
What he says is true for most part, but imagine me wanting to work for a IT firm in Bangalore. As a non Indian citizen I have no chance. So please realise NZ or any country does not owe you anything.
Companies like Spark, Datacom etc love to hire Indian immigrants because they are cheap labour. It is a reason I have avoided the private sector as there is too much competition from immigrants.
Immigration is not bad but what we need in NZ is businesses. Jobs will always be limited and we in NZ should focus on job creation.
