I have to thank you so much for posting this video! You saved me time and money walking through this job. It was fantastic! To anyone out there contemplating this repair I say this: I used all of my thumbs to do it and it came out perfect. If I can do it after watching this video then anyone can do it. All thanks to 1aauto.com. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for these videos. Today I installed a side mirror and replaced the speakers in my wife's Equinox due to you guys. Saved $612 over what the dealership wanted to charge me.. Now I'm watching this one to see if I can install the window motor myself as well. I will be buying it from you!
Thanks for watching Bart. Here's a link the window regulators for this Equinox on our website. We also offer FREE SHIPPING on all orders shipped in the lower 48 states. www.1aauto.com/1A/WindowRegulators/Chevy/Equinox/-/-/2005?VideoReply&VideoReply&ATony
Thank you for this video. Today I replaced the motor in both drivers and passengers side on my 05 Equinox. First time I've had working windows in a long time. Cost me less than half to replace myself than was quoted. I really appreciate your time in preparing these how-to sessions!
I have seen a lot of videos on auto repairs and have to say this is one of the top on my list. Very professional and right to the point.. also love the speed up parts on the redundant processes. A+ in my books..
My only issue is that our drivers window not working was the broken wiring in the wire harness coming from the body into the door. We watched this video in hopes that you would show how to remove the plastic piece on the body side of the boot to disconnect the wires. This was the closest to what we were needing! We managed to get that taken care of, now putting it back together and figuring out where the window needs to be as we put the motor back in! Thank you for the very instructional videos!
@pjh0636 We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair on a 99 Nissan Altima. Sometimes you can remove them with a wrench, but most of the time you would need a special oxygen sensor socket to remove them.
I have a 2005 equinox and I still can’t get the motor out. Took out all 3 torx screws but it’s still being held in by something. It wiggles etc. so it’s not seized in there, just seems like a clip or another bolt is holding it somewhere. If I heave any more on it I fear I’ll break the assembly.
Thanks for this video. I was looking at being without a car for three days using a garage to fix this problem. My son and I were able to do this in two hours on one day. I went back to work on time and feeling confident. I am female.
It may be a different procedure on that vehicle. We currently do not have an auto repair video on that particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
You also need to lube that pilot hole that the regulator pokes into. And grease the slides that the channel guides move up and down on. AND an absolute is to replace the glass belt molding on the exterior of the door to keep rain and crap out, this is what kills the motors. Notice all the rust on the output shaft ? Wonder how it got that way ? Replace that belt molding $90 from chevy.
My 05 equinox has a similar problem. The window would only roll up or down every 3 or 4 times i tried. Which led to me pushing the button a few times until it worked. Not the greatest idea in hindsight. Now it will not work at all. It wasnt slow or jumping it just did not respond to the buttons but every few times. It helped for a while if i helped it up by hand. Today i have zero response and i had to manualy pull the window up. I looked at it from the outside of the car and the glass is off track( overlapping the weatherstrip). How do i fix and where would the problem be? Should i start with the easiest things to check and replace or jump to a certain part?
Thank you for watching. First thing would be to remove the door panel and inspect the regulator. If it is off the track it is possible the regulator is broken, however you wont be able to tell unless you visually inspect it. Please let us know how the repair comes out! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I tried this as shown in the video. You unscrewed 3 screws and and pulled the motor right off. My motor did not come off so easy, it seems connected to something on the other side. What should I do
+bledzone231 In this video, we're replacing the power window motor. You can find the same part on our website, I'll include a link to it! Remember, if you order from us, we guarantee it to ship the same day and we'll cover the cost of shipping. You may want to check the window regulator to see if the cable is routed correctly and not broken or jambed on anything which could be preventing it from moving. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

Splines are probably just corroded. I had a similar issue with mine, but was able to walk it off by alternating prying from side to side.
@@Seeking_Solitide you fix it?
What is the name of the parts that you just replaced.??
