    Glock purchased a Glock handgun from a gun range that shot a couple Million rounds through it. Has all original parts except I think the barrel and recoil springs. I think the barrel was replaced once (while the second was still in good shape)... and the recoil springs were replaced several times. I don't recall exactly how many times, but it was on a schedule (like every 50,000 to 100,000rds or something like that).

    This is a really good concept in TH-cam videos I had a Ruger P89 stolen from me that I personally had put approx. 2000 rounds through when stolen it was recovered 20 or so odd years later by the Sheriffs department and I have it back in my possession now the barrel was slap wore out though when I got it back and it had a 30 round extended magazine that was a bonus that wasn't in the pistol when it was stolen. Thanks Walton County Georgia Sheriffs department for your excellent policing and even all those years later for returning my firearm to me I learned my lesson about making sure my firearms are secure especially if you leave them in a vehicle while traveling. OFC I have no idea about the number or rounds that were fired through that pistol but when the shooter is using 30 round mags that probably means they like to spray and prey or rapid fire the thing just by looking at the absence of the rifling and the looseness of the unlocking ring I can tell it has seen a lot of use

    I had a Glock 17 that had almost as many rounds through it, it was from the first batch of 2,000 guns, serial# AB646. Those guns didn't have a serial# on the frame. The original barrels were left in the white and I'm not sure what the slide was finished with but it was something a lot more basic than the Tenifer finish. That thing had nearly an inch of bore erosion from the front of the chamber into the rifling and there were various lines of erosion going down the grooves. It still grouped reasonably well though, no keyholes, but the groups were getting quite large. Anyway, it's now a manhole cover, courtesy of HM Govt. I should have held onto one of the mags, the original magazines had a square cut for the breech face to pass over, rather than the round cut they have now. It even had the original springs from what I remember. A few years later I was talking to Robert Glock and he said: "Oh, you should have sent it to us and we could have put a serial# in the frame and you could have exported it to the US." Now you tell me. Personally, I think that was impossible, the frame had started to split at the muzzle end and you have to put on target sights to get enough points for import. And also, ATF knows the serial number range so I seriously doubt I would have gotten a permit. Anyway, no great loss. Might have had a low serial# but it was properly f---ed. I have to say it does make me laugh when I see how prolific they are now. Back in the 1980s, most people thought they were silly.

    The highest round count I’ve had on a gun was my old service issue it was a gen 3 23 with about 68k on it but that was years of service I only put about 20k on it in 2.5 years. The last qualification I had with it was finally taken out of service due to the lack of reliability and accuracy. Every one that knows me knows I’m a damn good shot. So when my target looked crazy and I had 12 malfunctions out of 50 rounds they took the gun for benched testing and it could not hold a group and shot inconsistent to point of aim because the rifling was worn out. Looking forward to see your accuracy with this barrel also recommend using bore camera to make sure the inside of the barrel doesn’t show any weak points

    Just by looking at it he fired a lot of lead cast rounds thru it. I would ultrasonic it and clean the hell out of the bore. And do a before and after test. When I was about 22 my dad gave me a S&W 669 that shot like crap. I took it home and literally spent hours upon hour upon hours scrubbing the lead out of the barrel, it was a nightmare but a labor of love as well. When I was done it was extremely accurate and very reliable, I still have it to this day over 37 years later. He told me that he only used lead “wad cutters” thru it because it was cheap. NONE of my firearms (and I have over 50) except that one has ever seen lead touch the barrel. I am so glad I learned that lesson at such a young age, I also never run steel cased ammo thru my firearms. My boat gun only sees nickel plated cased ammo.

    and/or the P30 SK. tho people have a lot of opinions on the trigger and like LEM or not. I'd probably get the P30 in the larger size but it is cool that it is a hammer fired subcompact.
    They have updated the magazine follower so they hold 12 flush, 15 mid grip extension and 17 rd full grip extension. It's awesome versatility and ergonomics with like 9 grip panel options. Vp9sk can be found used sometimes but new ones are optics ready. Definitely recommend the night sights as standard sights are like weird charged by light glow in the dark but some people like them. Theyre just a really dope subcompact carry gun and i'm surprised you dont have one honestly.

    I can second that. I buy alot of stuff from ebay. Firearm goods and loads of other stuff. My girl likes to shop and we've never had any problems. Its not to say it doesn't happened. I find as long as you check the records of whoever your buying from, you should be golden. The sellers account is valuable if they are an accomplished ebay store, they won't want to screw that up. My girl loves her 26. Its a nice reliable little pistol. I can definitely get the job done with a 26 but my hands are a little on the large size. The glock 19 is my EDC. All my guns are cleaned and maintained to a high standards. A second g19 was added to my collection so when one was down for a full cleaning id have another to take its place. I have a few other conseal carries that have proven reliable. The Sig P365 and CZ P10C are two I could pick up in place of my glock and be comfortable with them. I wouldn't want it to be a permanent switch though. They are all good options. They all have pros and cons over each other. My own personal experiences and testing makes me favor my Glock for everyday, conseal carrie.

      It's probably legit. He says in one part of the video "ultralight competition loads". Guys that shoot ISPC or similar competitions can go through 5k rounds a month. Say he's had that gun for 2.5 years and that'd be about right. The only thing that seems like Glock-sucking to me was the "never cleans it" part. Let's be real, anyone who buys competition ammo, and shoots so often is going to clean their gun. Why buy ultralight loads if you won't keep your weapon cleaned well?

    Length of a bullet: The bullet is 9 mm long.
    Number of bullets: 121,000 bullets were fired.
    Total length of bullets: Multiply the length of a bullet by the number of bullets:
    Total length
    length
    =
    number of bullets
    ×
    length
    of a bullet
    Total length
    length
    =
    number of bullets×length
    of a bullet

    length
    =
    121000
    ×
    9
    mm
    Total length
    length
    =121000×9 mm
    Conversion to meters: Since meters are a more common unit of measurement for lengths in the barrel of a gun, we divide by 1000 to get the length in meters obtained:
    Total length in meters
    =
    121000
    ×
    9
    1000
    m
    Total length in meters=
    1000
    121000×9

    m
    Calculation:
    Total length in meters
    =
    1089000
    m
    Total length in meters=1089000 m
    Taking the round spherical shape into account: Since the round shape of the bullet does not touch the barrel and thus the effective barrel passage is smaller, only the length of the cylindrical part that actually touches the barrel is taken into account.
    The total length that the bullets passed through the barrel is therefore 1089,000 meters.

      @@pewpew9193 I'm not sure about the performance trigger, but Timney don't recommend their triggers for concealed carry. I know how the Timney trigger works for the most part... but I'm not sure if it has a drop safety. I've never seen one disassembled, to see all the parts and how they function (what you can't see)... but if you go by what you can see, there's no visible drop safety to stop the sear from dropping if the gun is ever dropped on the magazine. Wish I knew someone that owned one to get a good look at one/both of them entirely. I'll actually never buy a gun or gun part if I don't know precisely how it works and can verify that it's safe.

    • @pewpew9193
      @pewpew9193 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @deucedeuce1572 The striker plunger saftey is still fully intact & the inertial drop safety on the trigger is still fully intact.

    • @deucedeuce1572
      @deucedeuce1572 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pewpew9193 Yeah... but that still won't stop the sear from releasing the striker. Even if the gun wouldn't fire, your striker would be slammed into the safety plunger. Also, the sear being able to drop down from being dropped would completely make the trigger dongle useless. Then you're only relying on one single safety and not 3 like normal... and it's far more likely for one safety to fail than to have 3 safeties fail. That striker safety plunger is also held in place by a spring, which can be compressed from impact or kinetic energy... and also shock and vibrations can actually disable springs (not just from a straight impact like the usual kinetic energy, but in an entirely different way).
      I think there's a reason that Timney doesn't recommend their triggers for carry... but I can't confirm that they don't have a drop safety designed into the sear to stop if from releasing the striker if dropped.
      At the very least, you would go to use your gun and find out that you have a dead trigger (and would have to then rack the gun to be able to fire)... which could cause a person to be killed in a real life self defense situation. It would turn a 1.5 into a 4 or 5 second draw... and racking a firearm is the time a gun it most likely to fail/jam. Guns jam more often when people rack them than they do from being fired.

    • @pewpew9193
      @pewpew9193 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @deucedeuce1572 If you drop your gun & don't check on everything, you're clueless from the beginning.
      Timney dosen't recommend their trigger for carry because of the pull weight.
      The Glock Performance Trigger says it keeps every saftey in place.
      I've also put thousands of rounds with them in competition & training with no issues.
      They still say the trigger is for competition because of the pull weight.

Plan was to only change springs.....well that POS was inaccurate ass hell. Got a new locking block, new barrel, and all springs and sights..... now it's OK'ish..... . Gen 2 19 works perfect, probably has more shots..., changed all springs....that can shoot at 10yd one inch free hand pattern. Slide finish on both is bad, but no rust.

    • @deucedeuce1572
      @deucedeuce1572 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the old Glock coating isn't very tough at all... but the Tenifer finish beneath it is extremely tough and corrosion resistant. I'm not sure about Gen 4 and Gen 5 Glocks, but Gen 3 and older have the old Glock coating that's really easy to scratch. I thought that was the Tenifer, but the Tenifer is below that and it's clear (silver) in color. Once had an older G43 slide and an aftermarket Black Nitride G43 slide in the same hand and the Black Nitride slide easily scratched the hell out of the OEM G43 slide as if it was coated with nothing more than wax crayons. Had no idea that was possible until I saw it. Then I only later found out that the coating is just a coating and not the actual finish. I know some Gen 4 and Gen 5 slides have a different finish/coating, like the Teflon Glocks... but I don't know which are which and/or which are better (if any). I know Teflon can be extremely tough... but at the same time I've seen teflon pans have their teflon just flake off or peel off with little to no effort at all. The same is true with Cerakote. I've seen some extremely durable Cerakote guns, but at the same times I've seen Cerakote coating flake off like snow just from being shot... and in some cases I've even seen people scrape Cerakote off with their finger nails.

    That just needs to be cleaned thoroughly. If I look past the accumulated powder residue I can see rifling. My G23 from at least 25 years ago had less than that. Mine actually looked like a blunderbuss with scratch rifling, and it still shot pretty good. You tell it was worn because the group size was getting bigger every year. The Glock barrels are pretty damn hard stuff, that is not a 4150-grade steel. Maybe ar500 abrasion resistant? Anyway, that barrel is still useful, it's called combat accuracy, since I dun shot you once there and it did not work so I want the next one to somewhere else, hence larger groups are actually good. I think the NYS Police have one with a documented 1 million rounds through it.
