I hated Pucking Around…I’d just gotten back into reading and saw it on Tik Tok…I finished it but couldn’t wait for it to be over! It was ridiculous! One year later of reading romance I would have no problem DNFing it!

I loved your video, girl! One I don't stand hearing about is Coleen Hoover. I read snippets of COHOs books and the plot doesn't work for me. I read Pucking Around and I was so ?????? And thinking *how this is possible* so many times! But I read out of curiosity, not worth the time for sure. Normal people I liked the description and feelings surrounding depression, because the rest of the characters are just no, don't do this. You got a new subscribed ❤
Colleen Hoover is a great one to get you back into reading! I once read a lot of her books, she was definitely right author, right time of my life. But I’m defo giving Pucking Around a miss 🤣 hahaha tysm! Welcome 🥹❤️

I agree with every book you talked about …Twisted series whiplash plot!!! 😂And Twisted Games cringe ass writing …and all the others. Only exception is I love Sophie Lark books I literally binge read them in a day and I adore Lauren Asher books. Adding to the list of authors I won’t read , Tessa Bailey and Christina Lauren books. I cannot stand their writing styles I get bored and my mind drifts off.
I’m going to give Sophie lark another try definitely!! And I don’t mind Tessa B and Christina Lauren but understand why people don’t! Paper princess is 🤌🏻
Shelby, you have obviously been having a walk round inside my head you poor thing, because I agree with ALL of these, especially Anna Huang stuff 😳 (wtaf!). I started some of the ones on your list (Normal People, Terms & Conditions, 2 of the Twisted Series, etc…but dnf’d the lot and will NEVER pick them up again, and the rest are on my “nope” list already. I also hate with a passion the Why Choose trope. I started one last year when I didn’t even realise it was a thing and the fmc had 3 brothers in various orifices all at the same time 🤢. I was traumatised 😳 and would never read anything like that again. My “Not in a Million” list would include anything else by Ali Hazelwood (after reading Bride), anything else by HD Carlton (after wading through most of Haunting Adeline) and none of the Greek Mythology updates. I’m also fed up with totally unrealistic sexfest stuff in every chapter of a lot of books too, I like a bit of spice but too many books now seem to rely on porn to pad out a thin story, and if I read “That’s a good girl, come for me”, one more f@@kin’ more time I’ll scream 😱. I’m in a bit of a slump atm and keep dnfing books that can’t hold my interest, and I’m really fed up about it 😒
I FEEEEEEL YOU, I’m getting a bit fed up of every spicey scene having ‘good girl’ 💀 or ‘you take it so good’ HAHAHA STOP IT 😆 it’s lost all sexiness lmfao. And I’m in a 3 star jail, struggling to even get 4⭐️ reads this year, why has it been so rough?!?!!!!

The book Normal People was so bad and boring, and I'm so happy I thrifted it for cheap because it put me in such a slump!

I got through the first four books of Zodiac Academy with everyone saying it will get better. I wasted my life in those 4 books and I feel that is more than enough to know they are not for me.

The Anna Huang books are straight trash, I totally agree! I will never read Zodiac Academy because I’ve heard reviews that sound just like what you’ve said and it gives me the ick.
Also I attempted to read “Throttled” and thought my brain would melt from how dreadfully boring it was. DNF’d at 18%.
HAHAHA the one screenshotted page of Throttled made me feel ill, the fact you even got to 30% is commendable 👏🏻🤣

I can’t read an Emily Henry book bc I just hate the names of the characters. I know that one of them is called Wyn. Like am I reading about a 70 year old man? I just can’t look past it 😂

Oh GOD that was terrible, it was the way the FMC was SO shocked at the MMC having the nickname Knox (she said ‘what kind of name is that? Hard Knox life ha ha ha) BUT she was totally fine with finding out she had an 11 year old niece called Waylay 🤣🤣🤣 didn’t bat an eyelid hahahahah so stupid!!!!!! Doubt I’d read anything else by her again after that either

I read 1 full Emily Henry book and it was Beach Read. I legit thought I must have had accidently gotten a different book, because what in the bland boring weird f- is that. I read free samples of her other books, and well I'm never touching a Emily Henry book ever in my life again never ever ever. Sorry I was just so pissed off at the LACK of BEACH in a book called BEACH READ. Just seeing her books everywhere makes me angry because I just don't get the hype ????

@@readwshelby Beach Read takes place on a lake, not at the beach. And I think there's one scene on the beach of this lake, BUT it's not at all what you expect from a book called BEACH READ. Sorry I just can't with Miss Henry 😂

You’ve made the right decision with Normal People. It’s one of the worst books I’ve ever picked up. Absolutely nothing happens. Please do save yourself.
There’s also absolutely nothing keeping them apart. They just f**k and then whine about not being with each other despite the fact neither of them opens their bloody mouth to say they want a relationship. Pure torture.
