The Prize Lectures in Economic Sciences were held on Sunday 8 December 2019, at the Aula Magna, Stockholm University.
It is a pleasure to listen to this. I see direct relations between economics and data science, rather application of basic science, data science on economics.

He too tried to change our education system , right? Sad that didn't catch on & we are still just stuffing words into our brain & vomiting then in exams.

May be he's trying to say india being a poor country directed Abhijit's interest towards their life.
Exactly? What did he mean? I didn't get it
I think he meant, that all Indians are highly educated as the next line followed *perhaps it is not a great surprise that he will study economics at the university*
But in real the situation is quite different, more interestingly Abhijit's work on *alleviating global poverty* has research based on India in a narrower sense.
It meant he did what his parents used to do

It was Rabindranath Tagore, the first Indian to have won a Nobel. Then came CV Raman, then Mother Teresa, and after them comes Amrtya Sen.
Didn't understand your caption regarding first Indian to win Nobel prize. Can you elaborate, who, and why?
You see brother, when it comes to economics related to India, Dr. Ambedkar is always somewhere so it's not a surprise if amartya actually said that.

*Nobel Prize winner of economics, Abhijit Banerjee, had a girlfriend, Tuli ( Arundhati) right from school days. Both were from South Point Kolkata, he a topper in Economics and she a topper in English.**They finally married and both became professors at MIT. Happily married life went on and they had a son. Barely 5 years old the son showed signs of a prodigy, till a French student Esther joined his father's class. Father and student developed relationship but mother Arundhati didn't know. Student and professor came to India for some research and after returning student claimed being pregnant.**Arundhati was devastated but worse was for their son, Kabir Banerjee. He turned to drugs and alcohol, when even at age of 11 he could write like an established writer. At 15 yrs of age, he was arrested by UK police for picking up fight. Nobel prize winner dad never cared, only his mom, kept running from pillar to post to save the child.**One year later, in 2016 after the second marriage of his dad, Kabir passed away. Arundhati continues to live single and still searching for her dead son. The Dad now a Nobel prize winner is happily living with his student wife, who too is a Nobel Laureate.**
The states particularly ,developing ones should replicate such models in their development policies with sincer enforcement.
