Well, it never hurts to just "lock in" your pre-order with Amazon. Especially, since you can always just cancel it if needed anyway, and they don't charge you until it ships, too... so, nothing to lose! 🤘
7:00 I love the memories you share watching it. This is why so many of these classic titles are important to us. In addition to being great movies we want to enjoy in the best version possible, there are so many memories we have around these titles. I’ll remember the cozy, wood-paneled 80s living room from my childhood when watching Gremlins, so many memories or images and impressions like that.
If it's not done by Kino Lorber or Arrow, I will not trust it. No original mono-track is a very high possibility. Terrible teal regrading almost a given. And DNR just because. I'm praying, I want something good, but why get my hopes up after all we've been through recently? 💔😭
If the original Terminator doesn't come with the original theatrical audio, it is a pure waste of money.

As with ANY James Cameron 4K release this is a 100% wait and see especially considering Terminator 2 is one of the worst 4K releases ever and the other 4K Cameron movies are very hit or miss.

They BETTER restore the Mono soundtrack!
I have part 1, 2 and 3 on blu ray but not 4k... T2 3D was amazing in theatres; however, I heard the 4k disc is terrible so hopeully after Terminator is released they'll do the 2nd one shortly after
Preordered Nightmare day 1, but I can wait and see with Terminator. I'm sure there will be several different versions eventually. You guys Rock!!!

The movie was cheaply made. Of course I love it but can a 4k version be much better than blu?

i pre ordered it. one of my favorite films. hopefully it doesn't get dnr'd to death and get's a new mix WITH the mono as well. i used to collect a lot of action figures, which would have very expensive pre-orders, so for me, this doesn't seem like such a bad idea compared to that lol

@@duncandonuts5268 that is still too much tinkering for me. Titanic still has that "uncanny valley" vibe. A raw 4K scan of the camera negative is all that is needed...
Terminator is the best film and WB has no faith from me to get this right. If they don’t make enough for me to buy one after I’ve seen some actual images from the actual disc than they didn’t want me to have it to begin with so I’m glad they wind be getting my money for it 😂.
Hopefully elm street gets more love after that collectors edition. Seems like those and seven will never come out 😅
Is it as terrible transfer as previous 4K version?
I bet it won't look good as the original 35mm print. Get rid of that ugly green tint throughout the film because that's not the original color timing. Also, if they include the original mono soundtrack, I'll probably buy.

I've been weary of what could come from this release but no way I'm not preordering this. Distribution rights are wonky sometimes and I'll probably get any swag version of T1 that comes out anyway. Top 3 favorite films.
I don't understand why the put stuff out for pre-order without showing the artwork. That's shitty.
Because the artwork is likely not decided on yet and neither is the release date. With this being a steelbook, the artwork is almost always different from the actual poster artwork. Many studios do this. It's also common now to have pre-orders while a movie is just hitting theaters. No release date or artwork. It's a way to cash in on a movie long before it is released. With Terminator, some sites list December 31st as the release date, which is unlikely the actual date and a placeholder date being the last day of the year.
And why don’t they ever solicit fan opinions on the artwork? Come up with like 4 different options and have people vote on which they like the most.
I'll wait...not playing their games.
I don't trust James Cameron anymore. He never learned his lesson after the failure of 4K UHDs of True Lies and Aliens. I'm not getting this 4K.
