I love my wyvern. One of the few things I don't regret buying in game. Easy fun, even if it's just doing suicide base runs with a buddy. Great way to recoup after getting gaijin'd in other planes. There are only two downsides for me, 1) its too loud so I can't spectate my friend in his after I die without going deaf. 2) I can't have one for other countries to easily grind out their trees like I did with the brits.
I bought it today, it just completely blown my mind to find it on 4.0 br. That being said.... On my first match, two kills with one dropping, lamao... is a beast
I've done all my grinding using The Wyvern, Including the very last addition Harrier GR.7 lol. Once I got the hang of it I couldn't enjoy anything else, I love this plane.
I feel like gaijin has nerfed US and British 20 mils massively. It took me 4 secs of sustained fire from my F-89B to bring down an AM-1 which seems ridiculous considering it has 6 cannons. The same for the spitfires, F4U-1c, F8FB-1 and so on

Wyvern is one of my favourite vehicles for SL printing and relaxation. Bombing bases then YOLOing into the enemy formations, or climbing and doing HnR forever, generally trolling around the enemies... Really fun
I have it for a few years now yet my records say I only flew it 9 times in air only battles, while in mixed games its a 3 digit number, despite its my highest rank prop premium. And if I think of it I must say that it is the BEST premium plane in the British tree. The Harrier sucks on 10.0 being the worst airframe of all the harriers, the Vixen relies only on its AAMs and on an uptier there's not much it can do, MB.5 handle's like a bus, Reaper is a fighter-bomber on a bad BR, and the others are copy/paste stuff, (tough not bad ones; my most played premium prop of all is the Hellcat mk.II).
Energy retention isn’t great, if you miss a fighter on your first turn chances are you’re boned. But what makes this plane so great is that it’s used as a rapid base bomber for people who have tasks. Then most people just YOLO before going into another game. This can work, but usually doesn’t as they get jumped by whatever numbskull fighter doesn’t climb (they might get the Wyvern kill but any fighters that have climbed will macerate them) and then they die early. As a result of this (perfectly understandable) behaviour, the Wyvern has dropped a full battle rating over the last couple of years. IIRC it was 5:0 when I first got it. It was at least 4.7 not too long ago and did Ok as an attacker at that BR. But at 4.0? It’s defo OP now. And one of the few ways to have fun bombing bases now that gaijin has nerfed the meta for bombers. Remembers wistfully the days a Vautour could kill three bases with rockets and internal bombs. Sigh.
You forgot the fact it's slow to accelerate, has zero energy retention, and is a massive target. As for cas, it's extremely fast, but that make unexperienced players to miss their target and ending on the ground.
@@gkb0572 yep, but it's absolutly not noob friendly. It's broken when you use it well, but is counterintuitive for british players used to spitfire and typhoons. Takes some time to get good at it, but once you get it, you're a pain for everyone.
@@tigerbesteverything yeah but if your a good British main, that won't be a problem as you should have all the firefly and atleast played it enough to know how to ground pound. Even that, Britain should NOT be the only country you use. Should have average ground pounding experience to even consider the wyvern as a plane for them.
@@gkb0572 if you think firefly and wyvern are the same, you're wrong. They are night and day. The problem with the wyvern is that's it's unique for it's BR, behaving like a jet and not a regular prop. In short, it's not a plane for a begginner, but an excellent trainer if you know the basic of GP.
If I remember correctly there were two or three planes that have a similar if not higher Topspeed but the Wyvern has the benefit that it can reach the 650kp/h very easily and consistently in level flight
@@ivanvukadin3194 only p-51h, F2G and tempests can catch up at low altitude. And jets, of course. At the same br, p-51C, typhoon ang king cobras can overtake above 3km.
I love this thing, you can base bomb, ground pound, and if it’s not a full up tier you can dish out some pain. You piss your speed away fast if you turn to fast, but if you can keep your speed up you can boom and zoom people who are engaged with your team mates and it basically means they can’t win. This thing is super hard to deal with in a 2v1.
I hate Wyverns so much. They're the Ju 288C of 4.0, with the same combination of braindead players and actually smart ones who are nearly impossible to defeat because the plane can outrun just about anything in the sky. For the record, I'm not complaining because I lose to it. I usually beat them, by a pretty large margin. I just don't like how undertiered it is and how it screws with matches.
I could NOT agree more. I hate these planes. With the amount of REAL MONEY spent on one, you could feed a homeless person for a week. That speaks volumes for all the greedy people/players out there. I don't have much difficulty with them now, as I am EXTREMELY aggressive toward them. However, their BR needs to be a minimum of 4.7 BR. It outruns my FW190 D12!

what i find so fun about this plane is.. you can rush to a base. and then rush to the enemies... you are so soon at the enemies that most of them are still alt tabbed out...
thing is this plane hasnt changed in the last 2 years or so (to my understanding), and yet all of a sudden everyone is calling it "OP" when a year ago it was labled as "meh" what changed
The Wyvern is withoubt doubt my favorite aircraft in WT. She's faster than anything in the same BR in a straight line, can cary 3000lb of bombs and has 4 20mm cannons with, 1200 rounds I think? If you fly her the way she needs to be flown, she is unbeatable. The way I fly it is by purely focussing on bomber intercepting and attack runs on enemy ships or ground targets. For bonbers, just get about a mile behind them and hold that trigger down. Just send shitloads of 20mm out. Oh no, an enemy fighter diving on your 6? Just slam the throttle and dive. NOTHING will keep up with you. Avoid fighters and dogfighting. Only if you get a target of opportunity, go for it! Like a fighter that is flying away from you, or somebody thats stall-climbing after somebody else. The Wyvern requires discipline. And if you have it, she will do wonders for you. And also earn you bucketloads of silver lions and XP.
I fly an He 219 most of the time and I love nothing more than Wyvern players taking the head on. Endless fun just smashing each other to pieces from a forward spawn
This video made me realize I haven't seen an XP-50 in a month or more. People don't play them as much anymore. When I did see em it was only one, and very rarely 2.
You forgot to mention its pretty ridiculous speed in a straight line, it can out-pace nearly any threat at its BR since it's a turbo-prop. I really don't think it should be below 5.0, lol, it just feels like a *bit* much to be so low.

It's great plane, so far a massive grinder up to tier 7 now and fun to play, both in BB and fighter role! As for the nerf, well, I believe that The Snail is not allow to nerf premium as players pay them with real money and those goods have certain attributes that should not be changed, regardless of what is on the contract as is a non negotiable contract and the seller is clearly removing value from the item they have sold for no other reason than "re-balancing". Well, if this is the case they are now correcting their mistakes so the item sold may be considered faulty and may not be accepted with the new specs. Players should start asking for refund and The snail is likely to stop nerfing, nobody likes to lose money
I wish the vc10c can have armaments. Imo is a better version of the wyvern if it did. It's like playing playing a 109 on Heroine. I love how people go in for a dive on me and watch them rip apart and dying. Or how they chase me after a failed boom and zoom. It's a great energy fighter.

i just started playing if you buy a premium plane do you have to be on the tier it’s on to buy it? for example if i’m only tier 4 and buy the f5-c would i be able to use it or would i have to get to the tier it’s on first.
Nope no need to unlock other stuff first. Just grab it and you'll smash though the ranks. Just main in in air realistic battle n hit base's. You'll soon unlock the majority of the tree.
You can buy any premium vehicle, but I won’t recommend it. As mentioned in this video, you need proper experience to have fun and get good results with any vehicle. Premium vehicles don’t magically turn a bad player into a good one.
It's a good plane but its handling is extremely.....Janky. It wobbles a lot when coming out of turns and has a habit of bottoming out if your not careful.
its an amazing money pringter. HOWEVER, its a cancer in the game, completely ruining 5.0-7.0 matchmaker for everyone. on one side if ur german ur constantly 2 vs 6 cause more than half ur team are ju288s, this means that even if ur using smth like a fw190d12 at 5.0 ur gonna be put in a match with more than half ur team bombers and the whole enemy team 6.0 fighters cause nobody plays the be anymore as Germany and they need to fill up the lobbies somehow, meaning if u 5.0 its a constant uptier. On the other hand if u the allies in that be range most ur games will be chasing bombers as there will be very little figherts to hunt down, so pretty shitty and boring. Overall don't buy the plane as I'll show gaijin that the ju288 is fine and continue to make money for them so they wont do anything about it. Pls don't be a part of the problem. Get the wyvern instead as u contribute to the team fights a lot more, is more fun to use and it prints money just as well if used correctly
Its terrible now. Was great before Sky Guardians but now the Hispanos do fuck all, legit put 200 rounds into a B-26 and it didnt do anything. Bombing bases seems to be harder Im not destroying bases in one run as often as before.
Buying this is probably my biggest regret, despite getting it on a sale. It might be good in ARB but it's absolutely awful in AAB. It's like tech tree Do-335s or even worse. It has good guns with a lot of ammo but everything else sucks so much that it's not worth even having in you lineup. No energy retention, a turn or two and you're done. The only two things you can do are headnons and running away. Mustang Mk IA is way, way better. Buy this if you want to use it in ARB or GRB, avoid it even at a discount if you want to play AAB.
AAB is a TERRIBLE game mode anyway. You gotta have TONS of planes in your lineup and they are disposable. The real issue is not woth the Wyvern in that mode, but the fact that turn fighters do NOT bleed speed, so zoom and boom is basically worthless.
@@Tentacl It's not, it's probably the most fun gamemode in the entire game, with GRB being close behind. You don't need a huge lineup and if you have at least a little bit of skill you can survive without daying or even without being hit at all, I've done it many times. If you die more than likr 3 timrs in a battle, it's either a really long battle or you're doing something very wrong. Turnfighters do bleed speed, just slowly, because they are meant to turnfight so havign no energy after a few turns woudl defeat the purpose.. Hell, even twin engine attackers and some bombers have way better energy retention tha nwyvern.
that just mean you absolutly SUCK. I've got the wyvern for a long time, and it's one of the best plane you can get. It's even broken when used correctly. No turn, 10° climb, 110% and you're above everyone else with few exceptions. A bit of a dive (5°), and you're going at 600 in no time.
@@Damian-03x3 in my experience (and it has been many years since I played AAB, it used to be my favorite game mode before I accepted the other issues ARB has) huge lineups are a must to win, because sometimes you just NEED to take out bombers and attack planes and kill stuff fast before the enemy does, even if it means being shot down by someone who kills the entire team 2 times but stay high with a turn fighter. The game mode is just impossible to balance exacly because if how lineups work, even worst than GRB (since there is not spawn cost). I can't think of a game where it's a matter of luck not the skill of your teamates, but if they are gonna leave after a single death or have 6 respawns. Lastly, infinite ammo + irreal flight models means a high flying enemy can spawn camp forever. But of course, WT is a game, if that's what tickle your pickle, just have fun with it.
@@tigerbesteverything AAB, not ARB. In AAB it's quite garbage, same with tech tree Do-335s (especially stock ones). Its climb rate doesn't feel great and a slight turn will lose you most of your speed. You can just fly in a straight line for the entire battle but then you get like 3 kills per battle and you earn almost nothing and waste a lot of time. Even something like a stock J7W1 feels way better, while supporting a similar (very non-optimal) playstyle. Going 600 km/h is fine but someone can just dive on you and catch up and even if you're at the top, you're still limited by lack of energy. Or someone maneuvers slightly and you have to either dump your energy or disengage, die or do nothing. Even if you execute every engagement perfectly, a different plane would've done just as much in a shorter time while also being much more fun to play. And even if you really want to play like that, there are much better planes that can do the same while also being able to actually retain some of their energy.
@@eddieagar8039 i bought the american harrier and in a game with lets say 2 kills (2 decent tracking missiles) youd make around 50k sl and i also bought the moffet wich makes around 70k per good game
on the deck it outspeed everything until 6.0, with a constant 650kph without ordonance. It's not at all a jack of all trade, but a fast attacker that relies on speed to destroy it's targets.

It is a big target, but if you play it right then no one should ever get in range to hit you.

Airfield AA got stronger.
People got better using it.
Same this as the BMP-2M but to a lesser extent. People realised just how strong it’s advantages are if it’s used right

The hispano mark 5s are insane for pillboxes spas open toped. As long as its not a tank it can kill it can kill some tanks engines
I use this at 7.0 GRB lmao. I once outran 2 or 3 jets but barely caught me at airfield boundary after crossing most of the map. Enough said.

i just started playing if you buy a premium plane do you have to be on the tier it’s on to buy it? for example if i’m only tier 4 and buy the f5-c would i be able to use it or would i have to get to the tier it’s on first.
Nope no need to unlock other stuff first. Just grab it and you'll smash though the ranks. Just main in in air realistic battle n hit base's. You'll soon unlock the majority of the tree.
You can buy any premium vehicle, but I won’t recommend it. As mentioned in this video, you need proper experience to have fun and get good results with any vehicle. Premium vehicles don’t magically turn a bad player into a good one.

👍. Just don’t carry 3 1000 lb bombs. When u drop one. The plane becomes unflyable.
It's a good plane but its handling is extremely.....Janky. It wobbles a lot when coming out of turns and has a habit of bottoming out if your not careful.
It has airbrakes and combat flaps. Something the FW190 D12 does NOT have, and many of it's equal BR counterparts.

its an amazing money pringter. HOWEVER, its a cancer in the game, completely ruining 5.0-7.0 matchmaker for everyone. on one side if ur german ur constantly 2 vs 6 cause more than half ur team are ju288s, this means that even if ur using smth like a fw190d12 at 5.0 ur gonna be put in a match with more than half ur team bombers and the whole enemy team 6.0 fighters cause nobody plays the be anymore as Germany and they need to fill up the lobbies somehow, meaning if u 5.0 its a constant uptier. On the other hand if u the allies in that be range most ur games will be chasing bombers as there will be very little figherts to hunt down, so pretty shitty and boring. Overall don't buy the plane as I'll show gaijin that the ju288 is fine and continue to make money for them so they wont do anything about it. Pls don't be a part of the problem. Get the wyvern instead as u contribute to the team fights a lot more, is more fun to use and it prints money just as well if used correctly

Its terrible now. Was great before Sky Guardians but now the Hispanos do fuck all, legit put 200 rounds into a B-26 and it didnt do anything. Bombing bases seems to be harder Im not destroying bases in one run as often as before.
Buying this is probably my biggest regret, despite getting it on a sale.
It might be good in ARB but it's absolutely awful in AAB. It's like tech tree Do-335s or even worse. It has good guns with a lot of ammo but everything else sucks so much that it's not worth even having in you lineup. No energy retention, a turn or two and you're done. The only two things you can do are headnons and running away. Mustang Mk IA is way, way better.
Buy this if you want to use it in ARB or GRB, avoid it even at a discount if you want to play AAB.
AAB is a TERRIBLE game mode anyway. You gotta have TONS of planes in your lineup and they are disposable. The real issue is not woth the Wyvern in that mode, but the fact that turn fighters do NOT bleed speed, so zoom and boom is basically worthless.
@@Tentacl It's not, it's probably the most fun gamemode in the entire game, with GRB being close behind.
You don't need a huge lineup and if you have at least a little bit of skill you can survive without daying or even without being hit at all, I've done it many times. If you die more than likr 3 timrs in a battle, it's either a really long battle or you're doing something very wrong.
Turnfighters do bleed speed, just slowly, because they are meant to turnfight so havign no energy after a few turns woudl defeat the purpose.. Hell, even twin engine attackers and some bombers have way better energy retention tha nwyvern.
that just mean you absolutly SUCK. I've got the wyvern for a long time, and it's one of the best plane you can get. It's even broken when used correctly. No turn, 10° climb, 110% and you're above everyone else with few exceptions. A bit of a dive (5°), and you're going at 600 in no time.
@@Damian-03x3 in my experience (and it has been many years since I played AAB, it used to be my favorite game mode before I accepted the other issues ARB has) huge lineups are a must to win, because sometimes you just NEED to take out bombers and attack planes and kill stuff fast before the enemy does, even if it means being shot down by someone who kills the entire team 2 times but stay high with a turn fighter.
The game mode is just impossible to balance exacly because if how lineups work, even worst than GRB (since there is not spawn cost). I can't think of a game where it's a matter of luck not the skill of your teamates, but if they are gonna leave after a single death or have 6 respawns.
Lastly, infinite ammo + irreal flight models means a high flying enemy can spawn camp forever.
But of course, WT is a game, if that's what tickle your pickle, just have fun with it.
@@tigerbesteverything AAB, not ARB. In AAB it's quite garbage, same with tech tree Do-335s (especially stock ones).
Its climb rate doesn't feel great and a slight turn will lose you most of your speed. You can just fly in a straight line for the entire battle but then you get like 3 kills per battle and you earn almost nothing and waste a lot of time. Even something like a stock J7W1 feels way better, while supporting a similar (very non-optimal) playstyle.
Going 600 km/h is fine but someone can just dive on you and catch up and even if you're at the top, you're still limited by lack of energy. Or someone maneuvers slightly and you have to either dump your energy or disengage, die or do nothing. Even if you execute every engagement perfectly, a different plane would've done just as much in a shorter time while also being much more fun to play.
And even if you really want to play like that, there are much better planes that can do the same while also being able to actually retain some of their energy.

Its designated as an attacker but if you know how to use its speed and accelleration you can wreck a whole team in air rb

on the deck it outspeed everything until 6.0, with a constant 650kph without ordonance. It's not at all a jack of all trade, but a fast attacker that relies on speed to destroy it's targets.
