This was a tough one to get through. It's a shame TWD gets no Emmy appreciation in the acting categories because I think Andrew Lincoln continues to give outstanding performances and the premiere was no exception. Everyone was great but with Andy I felt his pain, his torment, and his guilt.
Don't get me wrong. Andrew Lincoln is a great actor. But even great actors can fail. I think his bad acting comes from the bad writing. It's hard to act well when your character is not really interesting. I mean, i get so excited when i think about Rick in the first two seasons, he was charismatic (but he had good scenes in the others seasons of course)

I read the comics, and I expected they would kill Glenn in the show as well. I was hoping they wouldn't because I think there are other characters (Daryl) who would've been the best choice for the Lucille death. If they were going to kill Abe then they should've given him his comic death instead of killing off Denise so soon. And Daryl should've gotten Glenn's comic death. Daryl's story line has been stagnant for a while and while I get he's many people's favorite it was his time to go.
I think it probably helps though to stop copyright issues. The image is too distorted to get picked up but we can still tell where you're at in an episode.

And that was possibly a small reason why Stephen Yeune (aka Glenn) and Abraham looked at each other. They had a similar hope that was in common with each other. Man this show is dramatic.
It would have been a sweet WTF moment if all the dead Original TWD cast members that were in Rick's group at one or another ,were also featured in the dinner segment,carrying food,like as if it were a wish Rick had.

Paname75 It would never be Eugene. Negan wanted to make a point with Abraham (tallest and strongest looking member of the group), and then Glenn was collateral damage (hate to say it that way, but it's true).
Because Glenn's death has the biggest impact, on the viewers and for the characters. I don't read the comics, but I'm glad they stuck to Glenn's death for the show since it's an iconic moment from the comics and has far more of an impact than Abraham's death.
Eugene has a very good plan. See, he's the one that's making bullets or at least about to in the show. if the show decides to follow the way the comics when, then Eugene will be Mass producing bullets which will then be used toward the war that should hopefully happen by the second half of the season or maybe season 8, and also for the upcoming whisper War sometime in season 9 or 10, if those will happen
Your screen asks "WHY"? Did you really think Negan would reason with the group...give them second chances and cupcakes? You do not get to be alpha dog of a totalitarian group without sociopathic violence. Negan is no hero nor role model. Expect to see lots and lots of him. He has a long story arc.

I couldn't agree more. I had the same reaction as you (actually lessed composed... I was crying so bad and I am a comic reader too.) ... They somehow made this more brutal. More traumatizing. And then the "happily ever after" bit at the end... I am honestly still feeling it today. My heart is heavy.

But the writers of the show had to "up the ante" in order to appease us comic book readers..so we wouldn't feel disappointed,or less shocked, than was expected. Fans were already unhappy with the "cliffhanger" season finale. Even Robert Kirkman himself apologized for the cliffhanger. I believe this was their way of making up for that. Some of us discussing the season finale right after it concluded knew they would have two deaths, and we even narrowed it down to three people. At any rate....bring on Ezekiel! :)

This is my favorite reaction video I've ever seen, because it shows all the conflicting emotions you feel when watching Negan do his thing. Yeah he's evil, but he's cool. Yeah he just killed someone you love, but he's cracking jokes and you're laughing in spite of yourself.

Anton Nyström The character that got killed Glen (The oriental guy) was there since episode 1 back in 2010 He is very likable and kind. The type of guy that would give you the last slice of pizza. He was a fan favorite and he got killed like a dog. Gasping, crying, bloody, a horrible way for someone to die. Imagine some one you look up to a lot (Which a lot of people do with TWD characters.) Or hell... even just picture your childhood hero dying like that.

Because it is all fiction, and also everyone is different, we're not all cut from the same cloth, as you should know. The character will alter the course of things and I think that is good though hard to take. The show has always been about how humans treat each other in dire situations and there is no doubt "Negan" types will exist when society collapses.
After seeing this episode you know what I wanted to see happen in my sci-fi fantasy. I would have loved for the tall green eyes of The Predator to flash in the trees and rain hell upon them. The Group would be safe since they have no weapons!!!!
Negan and Lucille are freaking awesome. Lol, I loved how they made Glenn's death (definitely caught me off guard) look like the comics. I only wish it Eugene's punk ass that got batted instead of Abraham, who started to become a pretty cool character imo. It would've been neat to see Carl get his arm chopped off.

So after being spoiled that ____ and ____ both die prior to premiere, and then seeing several reaction vids to their deaths, I come across this one. And I was enjoying the reactions but when you guys cried one last time at that picnic scene, I actually shed a tear or two along with you guys!! Why do people keep asking what Glen meant when he said "I'll find you"? It's not even supposed to make sense. He meant "Ow, my brain is coming out my eye sockets."

This is my favorite reaction video I've ever seen, because it shows all the conflicting emotions you feel when watching Negan do his thing. Yeah he's evil, but he's cool. Yeah he just killed someone you love, but he's cracking jokes and you're laughing in spite of yourself.

Anton Nyström The character that got killed Glen (The oriental guy) was there since episode 1 back in 2010 He is very likable and kind. The type of guy that would give you the last slice of pizza. He was a fan favorite and he got killed like a dog. Gasping, crying, bloody, a horrible way for someone to die.
Imagine some one you look up to a lot (Which a lot of people do with TWD characters.) Or hell... even just picture your childhood hero dying like that.

Neegan, like all bullies, is a coward.Won't take on Rick or Abe or Daryl man to man in a fair fight. Has to use his goons to hold everyone down. He wouldn't last 5 seconds taking on Daryl in an equal battle and he knows it. He's a sadistic POS. That being said, Jeffrey Dean Morgan portrays him perfectly. Kudos to him.
Judge Daring I don't doubt he is a game changer. That much is clear. He's still a sadistic POS as far as I'm concerned. Time will tell if I change that view but I doubt it. The character will alter the course of things and I think that is good though hard to take. The show has always been about how humans treat each other in dire situations and there is no doubt "Negan" types will exist when society collapses.
After seeing this episode you know what I wanted to see happen in my sci-fi fantasy. I would have loved for the tall green eyes of The Predator to flash in the trees and rain hell upon them. The Group would be safe since they have no weapons!!!!

I'm not always against him. Do I think he's overrated and a bit boring? Yes.
