Some people might think that this place was a waste of money but I think its amazing because it looks like the owner spared no expense, hiring craftsman and artists to do their best work and showcase it in this house. Houses aren't built like this anymore, it is pretty fantastic to see
I would like to have a house like this great design
My family was the first to own a lot on this street when they built it. 11 lots in a court. This is the worst house on the street. It’s tacky. The lot beside it will forever remain houseless until the son of the original land owner decides to build. Everyone had a mandatory two years to begin construction. Their lot has been empty for 15+ years

Architecturally, this is a monstrosity. I can appreciate the craftsmanship that went into it, but it doesn't follow any architectural rule and there's just a lot of different styles and eras combined.
It's made for Nouveau Riches. They don't know anything about architecture. They just want a mansion that will impress their guests.
Nouveau Riche trying to mimic the Sistine chapel ceilings? The interior is ghastly. Overall, loads of cement, garish decor and not a flower garden in sight. I prefer the older homes where the rich wood craftsmanship was truly enduring and timelessly beautiful.
@@hilaryc3203 it is more a matter of who you are building with and your tastes. There are a handful of brand new homes being constructed in my area with old-world charm. I cannot imagine the costs but it is awesome to see! I had to stop watching this 50 seconds in

My antique lamps (my favourite being my bronze mermaid nautilus shell lamp) wouldn't fit in with the this sort of thing, or the other trend that has people building houses that look like medical clinics inside. I prefer genuine warmth and quiet elegance. Antique lamps, loads of books and a couple of cats - that's me :) Cheers

I know this is a late reply, but the plot thickens. The real story behind this house is crazy, the husband and wife who bought it said in an interview that the only reason they built the house was to use it as a backdrop for their wedding where the guests had to dress up as 18th century Victorians. They put the house on the market as soon as they were done, and were willing to just take the multi-million dollar loss. Apparently they own a couple of schools that train dental hygienists.

One of the nicest interior designs I've ever seen. I've watched a sh*t ton of these "Amazing 72mega gazillion million dollar estate" tours and aside from the ridiculous size andmodern tech, they actually leave so much to be desired. This tho?
