    I am fairly certain I experienced my first ever shock episode tonight. It happened randomly after my workout. I felt a little sick heading out and while driving it intensified and my arms and hands went completely numb. Vomiting soon followed for half an hour. I for sure thought it was a heart attack, but I am beginning to think it was just my body going into shock and shooting blood from my hands/arms to vital organs.

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm sorry you had that experience! I would recommend talking with your doctor about personal medical questions, as I can't give medical advice here.

    I thought if you were going into shock it meant you were dying, from what a lot of people are saying it kinda just sounds like they’re having panic attacks. maybe it’s the same thing ? Could it be that when you’re in a panic attack you’re also in shock ? I have so many panic attacks through out the week but I also have low BP, 115/50. then I’m learning about going into shock from severe blood pressure drops and that kinda makes me panic ! but I’ve had hundreds of panic attacks extremely severe ones yet I never pass out and I go back to normal within an hour or 2. There’s no way I could go into shock multiple times and survive right ? it’s has to be just panic ... right ?

      You are too, too kind, Chantelle! At this moment, I don't have any videos on the stages of shock, however, we do have a full series on shock inside the NursingSOS Membership Community (pathophsyiology, signs and symptoms, nursing assessment, and nursing interventions). I hope that helps! :)

    I went into the ER 3 days after delivering my baby hemorrhaging; it saved me as I went into septic shock 20 minutes after being admitted. I don't remember much except getting huge bottles of blood being pulled out of me before passing out and waking up after an emergency D&C. I got a midline and 6 weeks of intravenous antibiotics. Fun times.

    Hey, so yesterday night I was about to sleep around 12:40 am and when I tried sleeping there was some sudden unexplainable shock (no pain felt), it lasted for 2 secs , it continued with small intervals for abt 10-15 mins. I sought of even doubted if I was dreaming ,lol (cause I've never felt anything as such). Whenever it came my eyes went white even though it was closed, and the more consciously I tried to control and get back to sleep, the often it came. It felt as if I was traveling from one universe to another, very surreal. But when I opened my eyes it wouldn't happen.
    Don't know if it's a creepy or spiritual or some sought of weird medical experiance, I wish it would never happen again.

Being in shock was SCARY!
