I honestly really like peach when she’s not useless. In most mario fames she’s really boring but whenever she plays a more active role I really like her. The best examples of this are the early Paper Mario games, with her being playable in Super and TTYD and 64, despite being kidnapped, made active effort to help Mario from within where she could go. I love that characterisation far more then what she usually gets, and it doesn’t even feel out of character for how she usually acts. That’s probably why Movie peach worked for me. Super Mario 3D Land - comes in clutch Super Mario 3D World - pretty helpful (while she has just about the same skill set as in SMB2 except it's not just a dream, it still doesn't chance the fact that she has such a great personality there where like the Mario Bros., Toad and Rosalina in this godsend of a game, especially on the Switch with the addition of Bowser's Fury, she wants to save the Sprixie Princesses, who can be ranked as "worthless", I don't care if they're princesses, if Nintendo wants to give them a comeback, they might as well make them strong like many other Mario characters like Daisy) Super Mario Run - barely does anything Super Mario Odyssey - worthless (cough cough, that ending, and it's no wonder I am so defensive towards Mario and think he gets more hate than he deserves) Super Mario Bros. Wonder (and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, for that matter) - elite (the first, last and only time in a mainline Mario game I rank her this highly, I mean, then again, there's also the original Paper Mario trilogy, mainly Super Paper Mario where she's a playable character)
Peach in Super Paper Mario is extremely useful, using her parasol to defend herself from enemies when you duck down and using Cudge to hammer the enemies, using her parasol to float to further away places etc.
Well in the princesses case she doesn't want to kill the only person she depends on the most. Yes peach Can step on the axe in the first game and the lost Levels. But then there's no way to save her! You can try to throw Luigi but that's not how co-op works in the original Mario Bros so. Yeah. That's a paragraph summary of why Peach did not go for the axe.
Explain to me how Peach in Super Mario Odyssey is more useful than Peach in Super Mario Run. I mean... They both do something after you beat the game... But in Mario Run she is literally a playable character. Plus... You can actually play as Peach before beating the game in the Remix 10.
Also considering everything, she’s supposed to be an orderly princess, not to cause harm, and her and bowser are weirdly friends throughout the games, if she tries to escape multiple times won’t bowser try to catch on and get more steadfast?? Also if she escapes and runs off, the koopa troops have flying machinery that could trap her, or the toads before she could get to them making her surrender or even worse kill them!! Sometimes a princess of a kingdom, the only ruler, doesn’t have energy to fight back (none of this is supposed to be taken seriously I just love peach)
@@jeremymklinger Yeah, do, because Princess Peach / Toadstool is a much better character than him (in the same way she’s better than the two tiresome, overrated, cliched plumber brothers) [especially gotta hate Toad’s raspy voice]. In (released some time post-August, but pre-December) the 2005 Nintendo DS video game ‘Super Princess Peach’, see how she braves (in that both music tracks scare me) the music of the stages of World 4 (Fury Volcano) - something she can do much better than Toad could have (and to think those two tiresome, overrated, cliched plumber brothers could brave those two music tracks). Off-subject, said video game was 8 years old, in 2013 (especially, respectively, post-August and pre-December). She’s UNDERrated, compared to the plumber brothers (really like how, in Super Princess Peach, the plumber brothers aren’t playable, let alone Toad isn’t).
2:01 correction. Throughout the game she actually is not captured. That's why she's able to send you these letters. It's not until you beat world 7 when Bowser had captured her while you were busy getting through world seven. Then Bowser sends you a letter telling you that He kidnapped her
Everyone was gushing over the Mario movie, but it was only because Mario had a movie to counter Sonic. That wasn't Peach, she was a Mary Sue character. I knew that I'm being rescued every other hour Peach was never going to fly in the modern girl power era, but they should have at least had her escape like in the one game and learn how to defend herself, had a character arc. But you know who Mario movie Peach reminded me of? Daisy. Makes me think the original Mario movie actually knew what they were doing....well, that one time anyway.
First one has a fair point but I think she didn’t push the axe for these reasons A) Mario probably would’ve died B) she probably wasn’t strong enough C) possibly felt bad abt hurting someone even if it’s the guy who kidnapped her / didn’t want the blood on her hands
2:00 She is not captured until you go to World 8. At least that is how I interpret Bowser's letter. That means she could possibly do more while you go through all other 7 worlds rather than send letters from afar.
I do think it would have been better in the movie if she actually had been saved by Mario at the wedding and THEN proceeded to kick ass, rather than the usual "I don't need no man" stuff. And just to clarify, it's not even a matter of gender. I would have been equally disappointed if we were following a female character preparing the rescue of a male character, only to arrive there and see that the guy already saved himself.
7:16 I think Bowser hates Mario, but Mario doesn't reciprocate that hate. Whenever Bowser and Mario end up having to team up in the rare instances that they do, I don't think Mario has ever outright said no.
Ok, Sunshine doesn't paint Peach as incompetent, it paints Delfino as a corrupt police state. My guess as to why she decided to stick around with Bowser after being kidnapped was that she probably felt sympathy for Bowser Jr.
bro if you included the paper mario games, she’s the most fleshed out captive in those games, sneaking around the castle to send mario tips, playing as her were in these stealth missions were some of my favorite moments in the game!
Paper mario 64: she has twink give mario useful information regarding the next area to go to, and can directly sabotage browsers attempts to stop mario in chapter 4, not to mention she occasionally tries to escape I think? So I'd say pretty helpful here Paper mario ttyd: she sends mario emails trying to explain the plan and her situation, it doesn't help much ourselves though, she also works with tec to try and figure out the bad guys plan...she ALSO gives us her power which is necessary to defeat the final boss...so for this one imma say pretty helpful or elite Super paper mario: she is playable and is a very good character for platforming due to her umbrella and glide ability, I am sure the game is also possibly not beatable without her? I think...overall elite
Shouldn't she lose points in Odyssey for being utterly ungrateful towards Mario and spurning him after he risked his life over days and through various worlds just to save her?

Super Mario Sunshine - worthless
New Super Mario Bros (franchise) - worthless
Super Mario Galaxy - pretty helpful (what can I say? For so, so, so many reasons including the introduction of several new characters including Rosalina, this game is nothing short of epic!)
Super Mario 3D Land - comes in clutch
Super Mario 3D World - pretty helpful (while she has just about the same skill set as in SMB2 except it's not just a dream, it still doesn't chance the fact that she has such a great personality there where like the Mario Bros., Toad and Rosalina in this godsend of a game, especially on the Switch with the addition of Bowser's Fury, she wants to save the Sprixie Princesses, who can be ranked as "worthless", I don't care if they're princesses, if Nintendo wants to give them a comeback, they might as well make them strong like many other Mario characters like Daisy)
Super Mario Run - barely does anything
Super Mario Odyssey - worthless (cough cough, that ending, and it's no wonder I am so defensive towards Mario and think he gets more hate than he deserves)
Super Mario Bros.
Super Smash games make her almost twice as dangerous to fight as Mario.
This title is unhinged
Literally every Mario fandom never leaves Princess Peach alone
Well in the princesses case she doesn't want to kill the only person she depends on the most. Yes peach Can step on the axe in the first game and the lost Levels. But then there's no way to save her! You can try to throw Luigi but that's not how co-op works in the original Mario Bros so. Yeah. That's a paragraph summary of why Peach did not go for the axe.
I'm sad you didn't mentioned mario + rabbits
She actually saves us in there
@@Sammy-34079 ....
Good for.. You... I guess?
Explain to me how Peach in Super Mario Odyssey is more useful than Peach in Super Mario Run.
I mean... They both do something after you beat the game... But in Mario Run she is literally a playable character. Plus... You can actually play as Peach before beating the game in the Remix 10.
3:00 a diference of previous games , N64 really can't fo nothing as she is not simply locked in a room, she is completely restricted by magic.
Galaxy 2 should be in par with Galaxy, since the 1-up letters got there as well.
Apart from this, very good video
Depending on the game, Peach is either a fun and caring princess or someone who stands like a statue as she gets kidnapped.
Good list. Now do Toad :)
Good idea, we’ll see 🤔
@@jeremymklinger Yeah, do, because Princess Peach / Toadstool is a much better character than him (in the same way she’s better than the two tiresome, overrated, cliched plumber brothers) [especially gotta hate Toad’s raspy voice].
I think the reason Peach is so good in SMB2 is because she's sooo useless that it's Mario's dream for her to help.
Didn't all the smb2 characters were dreaming too? In doki doki panic wart is inside a fairytale book-world
She was pretty useful in Paper Mario. Hot take- one of my favorite Mario games of all time.
In wonder you can play as peach, but no abilities so technically she is pretty useful
2:01 correction. Throughout the game she actually is not captured. That's why she's able to send you these letters. It's not until you beat world 7 when Bowser had captured her while you were busy getting through world seven. Then Bowser sends you a letter telling you that He kidnapped her
Should put paper Mario in this tier list cause.... Mario would've DIED without her
Awesome Video Bro!
First one has a fair point but I think she didn’t push the axe for these reasons
A) Mario probably would’ve died
B) she probably wasn’t strong enough
C) possibly felt bad abt hurting someone even if it’s the guy who kidnapped her / didn’t want the blood on her hands
2:00 She is not captured until you go to World 8. At least that is how I interpret Bowser's letter. That means she could possibly do more while you go through all other 7 worlds rather than send letters from afar.
People keep forgetting the mario+rabbids series.
“Every Mario Game” *doesn’t include Super Princess Peach or any of the RPG titles*
they are not MAINLINE
She doesn't get kidnapped in Mario 3 until the end of the game.
Someone never played through the game without warp whistles.
I’m still questioning how toad got elite but Luigi didn’t
I hope we get a sequel video including Mario wonder and Princess Peach Showtime and I fucking love Princess Peach ❤
7:16 I think Bowser hates Mario, but Mario doesn't reciprocate that hate.
Whenever Bowser and Mario end up having to team up in the rare instances that they do, I don't think Mario has ever outright said no.
Actually in sunshine, if she jumped off, bowser Jr would probably stop her
Princess Peach SHOWTIME~~ 🌟🌟🌟
Ok, Sunshine doesn't paint Peach as incompetent, it paints Delfino as a corrupt police state. My guess as to why she decided to stick around with Bowser after being kidnapped was that she probably felt sympathy for Bowser Jr.
bro if you included the paper mario games, she’s the most fleshed out captive in those games, sneaking around the castle to send mario tips, playing as her were in these stealth missions were some of my favorite moments in the game!
i jer3333k off looking at princess Peach.i jer3333k off looking at princess Peach.
i like how useful she is in super princess peach, when she realizes that mario and luigi got captured by bowser while peach is outside taking a walk.
but how useful is she in showtime peach?
She was also in Super mario rpg for the Super nintendo and the Switch Remake. Just throwing out there.
Paper mario 64: she has twink give mario useful information regarding the next area to go to, and can directly sabotage browsers attempts to stop mario in chapter 4, not to mention she occasionally tries to escape I think? So I'd say pretty helpful here
Paper mario ttyd: she sends mario emails trying to explain the plan and her situation, it doesn't help much ourselves though, she also works with tec to try and figure out the bad guys plan...she ALSO gives us her power which is necessary to defeat the final boss...so for this one imma say pretty helpful or elite
Super paper mario: she is playable and is a very good character for platforming due to her umbrella and glide ability, I am sure the game is also possibly not beatable without her? I think...overall elite
1:11 if it’s slightly better put it infront or the original
5:35 she doesn't try to warn him. She more or less just calls out marios name, possibly in suprise tgat he's there to save her.
Shouldn't she lose points in Odyssey for being utterly ungrateful towards Mario and spurning him after he risked his life over days and through various worlds just to save her?
You said every Mario game but you haven't covered the RPGs.
In Super Mario Bros 3 she was not kidnapped yet, she was only taken by Bowser at the very end as far as I know
She also sends letters in Galaxy 2
Well she’s not all bad. If it wasn’t for her, Mario and Luigi wouldn’t have gone on all those adventures
Being generally really good when she’s playable and having two games of her own makes the usual passivity all the more annoying.
In the process of replaying odyssey, and I am now remembering how much she pissed me off
I guess her defense, if she didn’t exist, Mario wouldn’t necessarily need to save the day anymore-
in smb1, if peach did pull the axe then mario would fall too.
Peach, the most useless Nintendo Character in all of fiction.
I would say she is one of the most useless characters of all time if it wasnt for sakura being the mpst useless characters of all time, and the fact that she is ok in side series and good in princess peach showtime
She's not useless, having to rescue her from kidnapping is the reason the games exist
@@alejandrocoy5405 So Peach is a plot device by your own admission.

@@alejandrocoy5405 So you admit that Peach is a poorly written plot device.
@@DragonKingMadaraUchiha
I guess its poorly written, but the majority of mario games dont focus on writing all that much, the priority is gameplay
If you put it like that everything is poorly written, Bowser kidnaps a princess and is evil just because
Interesting thing about Mario 3 Peach is that she doesn't get kidnapped until you beat World 7. Then Bowser sends you a letter rubbing it in that while you were saving the kings, he just went back and did what he did in the first game.
Peach in smb3 doesn’t get captured until world 7
Mario Wonder would prob be comes in clutch because she’s playable but she isn’t the best character. Also idk if princess peach showtime counts.
I do miss the overview for the ranks, I don't think the zoom is necessary., but great analysis! Short and to the point
