My oldest rabbit "8" just learned to do somersault. He just out of the blue did it. I kind laughed and now he does it all the time. My vet said he healthy and nothing appears wrong, and that he just like doing it. And it look like he trying teach the other 3 to do it to, but they are not having none of it. Rabbits are weird

    Hello Amy, hi everyone,
My name is Paul, I live in Romania, in the center of the country and together with my boyfriend, Ionuț, him and I had two bunnies named Brownie and Bocănilă (meaning Thumper, in English).
I want to thank you first and foremost for the help you give to the others, for the care you give to your bunnies, and for all the information you provide. Ionuț gathered weeks of watching your videos as well, to make sure that we can offer our bunnies the best conditions, that they are happy, healthy and that they will not lack anything that is necessary and vital.
I am writing to you now because we are sad, destroyed and we can hardly calm down at this moment. One of the bunnies, Brownie, died in our arms on July 22 this year, after two days in which he was hospitalized and operated on for appendicitis. I want you to know that Brownie was and will remain the most special bunny for us! He was present everywhere, he was playful, he kissed us for hours if we let him. He put his muzzle in our hand when he wanted us to massage him. Banana was his favorite and he jumped for joy when he saw the portion of green salad in the bowl. He would climb on our backs when we went to the bathroom, show us when he wanted to clean his litter, and often wait for us in front of the door to go out on the balcony together in the evenings. He was only nine months old, castrated and vaccinated. Bocănilă is still waiting for him at home. And so are we.
We love him and we will love him forever!
    Best regards,
    Paul, Ionuț and Bocănilă

If it's not bleeding then you haven't been bitten but nipped! Also, one of my rabbits shows me his but when he's annoyed, he just turns away in a huff! Well, jokes on him because I think that bunny butts are adorable! 😂
Just an idea for your next video, perhaps you could talk about eye problems in rabbits? One of my rabbits recently had his eye removed due to glaucoma and the vet said that a lot of owners tend to miss the signs. It could save some rabbits from the pain and maybe help owners to make the decision whether to go through with surgery or not. 🙂

How’s your rabbit doing?? Mine is on eye drops for glaucoma but one eye isn’t responding as well.

    • @Miss-Anne-Thrope
      @Miss-Anne-Thrope 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@kippy7883 He's doing really well, he had the surgery a week ago and has his final check up on Friday. The eye drops weren't an option because his eye pressure was 40 so he was left with two options; he could have had surgery on the lens but due to his age (he's 8) he was unlikely to survive a long anaesthetic and there's only one opthalmology vet who can do it but he hasn't got any experience with rabbits so the best option was to remove the eye. He's adjusting really well, he's now running up and down the stairs and humping his partner/ my slippers again! He was a bit disorientated at first but he was ok after a few days. It was expensive, it cost £1100 for the exotics vet but it's worth it because he's happy and no longer in pain. Eye drops are only a temporary solution unfortunately so you'll likely have to make this decision at some point but I hope my experience helps 🙂

Plum Thee Bunny will often nip all my fingertips to make sure they’re not food. This is typically right after treat time, but can happen at any random time. She will, occasionally, "test" toes. Caye Da Otha' Bunny will grunt if she's upset at me, but she also grunts and boxes during play fighting, so it's hard to tell if she wants privacy or she wants to fight.

My sweet Ollie died of e cuninculi. Could you please make an awareness video, it’s present in 40-70% of rabbits but only shows symptoms In 6%. It can cause cataracts or hind leg weakness or head tilt/ balance or neurological issues(like my Ollie) it is often very sudden and unexpected. The head tilt and rolling can look like seizures, it awful, sudden onset. I hope some day they can find a prevention or cure, so far all they have is panacur which is basically poison but better than doing nothing. The loss of Oliver has been so hard and unexpected, he went from perfectly healthy 5 month bunny to seizing /rolling within hour to 3 night overnight stay at the emergency animal hospital, To had a head tilt to death within the week unexpectedly because he was recovering so welll and running around with his brother doing well. If you could please do a video on e cuninculi , not many people even vets know much of it even though it’s so common, I wish more bunnies could get a proper diagnosis to save lives and possibly even find a cure some day. Love you videos been a fan for a long time. Still grieving the loss of my sweet ollie

Five days ago we had a lady that raises bunnies come to the house to trim our bunnies nails. My very large and strong New Zealand bunny has been trying to kill me ever since then. She used to let me hug her but now she tries to bite any part of me that she can get to. The vet said that it isn't a medical issue, she is just punishing me for getting her nails trimmed. None of the other bunnies hated me after their nail trims. I hope she gets over it soon. She is my favorite and having her angry at me hurts my feelings. I have tried everything to help her stop being angry but nothing works. Blueberries are her most favorite food in the world and she won't even eat them if I give them to her.

I really love my rabbit, he is really kind and lovely. But i did experience some of the behaviors you describe. Especially when (like now) he is moulding. I really want to help him out but he doesn't like it at all when i trie to comb him. 😩 But he loses so much hair and i'm afraid that if he gets it in his stomach/intestines he could get G.I. stasis. So he knows when it's moulding season and i want to have him on my lap, it's really the time where i can get a could shoulder (or more likely his but! 😅) But he is a really sweet bunny overall! I really love him very much!

I found out two reasons why my rabbit thumps.
    1. Is when I cook certain foods especially meats, and thats when he thumps and hide. I assume he's afraid so I try to keep him away.
    2. Is when I want to take him outside by placing a harness on him.

    Hey bunny lady
Help interpreting this would be appreciated.
This video makes me think anytime I’m trying to play with my bun she’s really just getting mad.
She seems to love me tons, but when I’m playing with toys with her I’ll wave them around her face until she tries to steal it. She honks/growls, kinda front stomps, and digs at whatever I’m playing with. She goes through about a min of this, runs (while binkying) around comes back a few mins later and repeat about 4-5 times. She has plenty of space to flat out get away from me if she wants.
Any help understanding if I’m being mean or playful to her would be appreciated. I just want to do everything right by her.

I wasn't sure which video of yours to ask this on, but my rabbit has a weird behavior she is obsessed with a ball it's a fluorescent kind of basketball large one same size as a basketball she found this rolling around and decided to make it hers she moves it all around the house she goes in circles round and round for sometimes 5 minutes or so usually 2 minutes she tries to ride it she licks it it seems strange but she's very happy doing this she also rolls it back and forth with us☺️ it's like it's her friend cuz our dog ignores her no matter how much she tries to interact with the dog, our dog walks away from her or just lays and ignores her, our dog lets our bun do whatever she wants. The ball has a stumped I've never seen a video with a rabbit playing with a ball what are your thoughts 🤔 thanks 😁

My rabbits have a behavior that I've had trouble understanding. They kind of hook my fingers with the sides of their teeth and use their head to flick my hand to the side. You need to make sure that the hay is good quality and more of a green colour rather than yellow, try him/her on some different brands of hay. My rabbits also love the hay rollers on Amazon, you could try them too and try to make the hay interesting by hiding treats in it or mixing some dried dance mix in with it.
With the litter box try leaving some clean hay or some toys so that he'll sit in there and also leave some of his poops in there so that he knows that's where he has to go and try not to disturb him when he's in there. Most rabbits will automatically choose an area that they like to use so put the litter box there and move it slowly (as in by inches) over a few days of even seems if you need to move it.

If you're breeding rabbits then don't get them neutered, the main reason for neutering or spaying is to prevent pregnancy. It is beneficial to neuter/spay if you're not breeding them because it can help with destructive behaviour such as peeing on things and fighting with other rabbits and it also, as was mentioned above, prevents health problems such as uterine cancer in females (females are extremely prone to cancer, I had to put one to sleep a few years ago)

I love your channel! Your video’s really help me and Ellie is so cute! Would you mabye make a video about Diet for older rabbits? like What herbs are the best for An older rabbit, and do you have Instagram cause I couldn’t find you?
