Teardop Camper from Drop-Camp - a new introduction! Holidays with a caravan have a long tradition in Turkey. Many a manufacturer has been building small and large caravans since the 1970s. In recent years, more and more models from the land of the three seas have made it to Germany. This includes the Dropcamp Wild Drop, which is imported and sold by the Auto Centre Mülheim.
The teardrop caravan, which is 5.50 metres long and 2.10 metres wide, is built entirely in Turkey but undergoes a quality check here in Germany, explains the importer. The Wild Drop presented at CMT Stuttgart is already a model from the second series and was designed according to the importer's suggestions.
The permissible total weight is 750 kilograms so that the small camper can be driven with a B driving licence. Thanks to the Alko chassis, it can be loaded up to 1,000 kilograms. The interior and electrics have also been revised.
Living space and technology The body is made of smooth sheet metal sandwich and looks neatly finished at first glance. The look is characterised not only by the droplet shape, but also by the access hatches with large windows on both sides.
The interior of the Dropcamp Wild Drop is dominated by four large cushions, which can be used either as a sunbathing area or as seat and back cushions. There is a rectangular recess in the floor in the centre of the maximum 1.40 metre high interior, so that you can easily place a small table in the mini caravan.
There is also storage space in the double floor, which is accessible through a flap at the head end - towards the front. There are also wall cupboards in the front and rear where you can store small items of luggage, clothes or a book, laptop and smartphone.
The small Wild Drop has an optional diesel heater with fan; the heating pipes run along the left and right side of the double floor of the living area. The blower, lighting and other amenities are powered by the standard on-board 60 Ah gel battery. It is charged via a 2000 watt inverter. A solar panel for the roof is optional, as is the boiler and a 60-litre fresh water tank.
More storage space in the pull-out There is a solid pull-out made of glass fibre-reinforced plastic in the front, behind the head end of the sleeping area, so to speak. It is only accessible from the outside. Among other things, you can prepare utensils for cooking in the open air here.
The pull-out can also be used as storage space for bulky luggage or an awning. With a tare weight of around 670 kilograms and a permissible total weight of 750 kilograms, the Dropcamp Wild Drop can only be packed to a limited extent. This can be remedied by increasing the weight to 1,000 kilograms - free of charge according to the price list.
