The “soft” deterrent of overwhelming gunner patrols was quite impressive, they could have just closed off the map but they made it so you literally don’t want to go south alone
@@mdb45424 Yeah, or some cover and a reasonable strategy. Though I have to admit, my explosive combat shotgun and some good armor makes short work of even those upgraded enemies if you don't mind spending the ammo or waiting until they get close. But not too close or you eat it too.

That is a good point about Nate's experience, but I also appreciate that they don't just make you a general so that it ends up no different than the Minutemen. You're the chief and you delegate the responsibilities out to the best suited people.
@@demusicfan In the base game the only people that recognise Nate as the general are the Minutemen at the Castle and at the Checkpoints scattered across the Commonwealth so it's not really a big thing for anyone else, and if you delay meeting the BoS at Cambridge Police Station even though Nate has built settlements etc., Danse still insists that Nate is a mercenary and Kells mocks Nate's military experience yet if Nate meets the Railroad Deacon knows he's the general. The settlements are part of the Minutemen storyline and the mod wants to ignore that but I've yet to see any of the settlements fully in any walkthrough of this mod, what I have seen is a huge lack of defence, when I build my settlements they all have over 500 defence and the Castle has over 1000 and the Gunners attack it often but are dealt with in seconds and I never have to defend any of my settlements. While the story of the mod is a good one I would like to see what the settlements look like when completed though.
Gotta admire the restraint from Mayor Bob while being questioned at lengh about his fitness to be in the military to not just respond to the wasteland adventurer by saying hes a army veteran
It's just a couple of hundred gunners. That's like a fraction of what the protagonist has already killed off. Just slap a marker on the map for each site, and in about 8 hours, no more gunners.

... and I think that was after they had completely wiped out the most well protected underground military bunker, after breaking out as a prisoner with zero equipment. They weren't even the first to wipe out entire bases full of powered-armored well-trained militaries. So, yeah, there's a pretty good track record for this sort of thing.
1:21 well, the Sole Survivor has been through longer comas and has been alright. Also, synths don't have massively more durability or regeneration than humans. So a synth is just as likely as a human to be injured after falling out of a Veribird. So Lupe probably just has high enough Luck to pass the check

@@mdb45424 is it Gen 1 and 2 Synths or Gen 3 synths? And is that including Coursers? And did you compare them to every type of human NPC, not just just generic settlers, and take their levels into consideration? Because there is a difference between all of them.
@tinaherr3856 it's a mod sometimes they get values mixed up, but the plot armor is very high and was notice by other npcs in the game. Also our level 70 mutant in some of the best non power armor in the game barely survived while she in basic clothing Mads it out without a scratch. At the very least there would rad burns and bone fractures at the velocity of the fall. Of course snyths don't get broken bones

Salvador is the first instance in SS2 that I questioned voice acting direction. It sounds like the guy is reading off a teleprompter that's running just a little too slow.
The performance is exactly what they intended. If the SS2 team can get the ducks in a row (securing VA’s), they want add backstory quests for the HQ personal.
Autistic was my guess. Not just the way he speaks, but what he's saying. "I apologize if I seemed uncivil", I felt that deep in my little autistic heart.
Anyone else getting a small audio bug at 34:15? I can't tell whether that's an audio error in the mod or not. Also Jon, you normally have that fancy dress on when you do speech checks, that was why your charisma was a bit lower than previous checks.
Jon should have got Ada earlier and made robots for each settlement as guards. I would have put armour on settlers and gave them better guns as its how I always play. Plus my settlements have a lot of turrets around them as soon as I can make them. I am really enjoying the Story so far and I have watched them all upto now over the weekend, thanks Jon for the great entertainment so far.

This is the first time this mod that I am wondering what a voice actor is trying to do with his character and lines. Salvador's voice actor seems to make some weird choices in his cadence and pauses and it is distracting (to me at least). But that once again highlights how good the rest of this mod is! :D Really enjoying this series
I so wish that this mod could be canonized, but according to Barfthesda “Fallout wouldn’t be Fallout if the world actually started rebuilding itself.” Everyone knows that Fallout is far to valuable an IP to allow the story to ever actually progress in any meaningful way.
I still have to remind myself this is a mod, the production an voice acting is top tear. Also... after the battle and literally every character was looking up at the sky and talking about planes, can I assume the mod actually introduced new aircraft and zero perception Jon just missed it?
The aircraft pass by above you about the same time the vertibirds appear. Easy to miss, I almost didn't see them on my playthrough. If you rewatch last video, there's a glance of the 3 Stingray fighters (it's the pre-war design in front of Arjet systems).
I never got far enough into this mod to find out what Salvadore's triggers are, but I wonder if he's like Preston vs having some future conflict. i.e. he'll get mad if you bring raiders from nuka world, or maybe side with the institute
This is where the mod loses me. Gunners aren't this massive faction with aircraft carriers. They're a small faction native to the Boston area, and if memory serves, they grew out of a Vault experiment. This is far too lore-breaking and it goes way beyond making settlements more interesting.

Pretty sure Danse could do just as good a job training people. 😒 Also pretty sure I could take down that camp. i appreciate the series, and the depth of the (free) mod, but it's funny/appropriate that they've kept bethesda fallout's pretty awful writing/every character treating you like the chosen ten year old. sitting through 11 minutes of that meeting was fucking excruciating.

It has to work with the female protagonist as well, the mod is extensive, but that's a bit too much detail for a free fan project

By far my favorite character in this mod series. The New York accent is just great.

I dunno... I mean Synths aren't immune to Radiation. We know that because it's the whole reason Virgil is hiding where he is. Because the synths couldn't get to him through the Glowing Sea. And the Synths are no more resistant to damage than anyone else either.
I chalk it up more to High Luck Build than anything else. Actually does she have high luck? Hit her with your scanner to see? It'd make far too much sense for her to have like 20 Luck or something.
