Great video. Time to plan for a Backup Camera for work. 💪🏽

I've owned the Pocket 3 since Nov 1, 2023. It is beyond an excellent product.
You (or anyone with filming experience) can confirm this: in the camera world, a $669 camera with this level of professional capabilities, features, quality & with a pro grade wireless mic included is absolutely pure insanity.
I do youtube as a hobby and as a way to pay for gas, lunch, etc for the videos I make. I don't have the professional level cameras like you probably have for your jobs and I can't justify the $4k+ cost for the camera/gimbal/lenses, mics, lights, etc. The OP3 gives excellent image quality and I'd be willing to bet that the average person who watches our videos can not tell a difference in quality between the OP3 and a nice $3k+ camera.
Also, DJI Care Refresh is pretty awesome too. You don't have to worry about it breaking or malfunctioning at all.
To keep rambling. . . the OP3 really is capable of shooting incredibly high quality video of pretty much anything you can think of (aside from maybe manual/rack zoom type of stuff - but you can still do that in post though). I am never worried about the video quality whether I'm shooting a night video in the city, an indoor/outdoor car show, nature video, a talking head/studio video, or even a short film. It gives me the confidence that it will perform well in basically any situation.
Professionals may opt for more expensive gear, but the large majority of people won't need it. If you are new to filming, just want to have a nice camera for family events/vacations, or want to start a youtube/social media account, this camera is perfect for 99% of people. If you have a kid that wants to get into making youtube/social media content, this is far beyond the perfect camera for them.
You can get the Creator Combo with care refresh (about $775 with taxes & care refresh), nd/cpl filters ($75 or less - don't even really need them), a great rig/case from scotty makes stuff ($40), and a good Ulanzi RGB light ($25). So about $900 for a complete rig (camera, filters, camera rig/case with multiple cold shoes & 1/4 20 mounts, a great dji mic2, and good lighting)
The point I'm trying to make to anyone who might still be reading all of this long comment: for $900 you can get absolutely everything you need to film excellent videos.
Including the OP3 and an inexpensive laptop or PC (davinci & capcut editing software does basically everything you need for free), you can start your own TH-cam/social media channel for $1,200 or less. . . with the same video quality that many channels spend well over $6,000+ to produce.
The OP3 takes away basically any excuse you have for not doing it now. . . (you can even buy it on affirm credit for like $55/month). . .
I know this is a long message, but if you find yourself still reading and you're thinking about starting to film, I really hope you go ahead and do it. You'll be really surprised at what you make, the new stuff you learn, the places you go, the new friends you make and the fun you have.
(DJI or this channel didn't pay me for that comment 😂. . . you truly know it's a great product when customers are willing to speak so highly of it and at great length simply because it is an excellent, excellent product. . .)
Also, keep in mind that, even with all I said, this camera does so much more. Once you get it, you'll flip out when you start learning all the stuff it can do and all the different types of shots you can get (interior car shots, exterior car mounts, shots inside tiny spaces less than a couple inches wide, vortex/spinning shots, subject tracking shots etc.)
Wow, 😂, I really didn't plan on writing a book as a comment. I just couldn't stop talking about it when I started thinking about it and what it means for a small channel like mine and even some channels with millions of subscribers. . . Professional level capabilities for $669 - I just can't stress enough how insane that is in the world of cameras and content creation. Camera of the decade so far in my opinion.
Man, sorry for the long, long, long comment. . .

I lwould love to hear how you take Log footage and make it look like you did. You you use the Dji log to rec 709 standard download from their site and then apply a LUT ? I'd love to know your process and also what you used. It looks soooooo good

Thanks so much! I don’t use the DJI conversion LUT. I use a conversion within Davinci resolve from rec709 to Davinci wide gamut and then back to rec709. It’s the same LUT that I have created for my DJI Avata 2, and mini 4 pro

Hi Jonny ...of course you have insurance for your geat, right? It would just be a royal pain in the bum bum if your gear got pinched. My buddy gear get grabbed so when we both invested in A1's and a lot of GM's lenses we both got camera insurance. ...nice piece of mind, in the event, just in case since we never know.
Enjoyed your video, clean, concise, to the point. I was just overseas, took my A1 with my 24-70mm f/2.8 GM (II) & 20mm f/1.8 G along with OP3, I did film lots & didn't take out my A1 once, so I hear you and agree with you about your trip to Mexico. The OP4 might be nuts as I am sure they will improve on this.
Your beard is DOPE, how long have you been growing it?

Yes! I do have camera insurance so my gear would be covered, but it’s would be a headache to be without gear for even a week so that’s why I’m so thankful for the OP3 and not having to take out all my gear.
I can’t wait to see what they do for the OP4 and hope it’s as big of an upgrade as the OP3 was. The convenience factor of it is such a big deal when being out and about! I appreciate the feedback!
Thanks so much! I’ve been growing it out since November!

What do you think about using two osmo pocket 3s for recording a podcast?

    • @JonnyTrego
      @JonnyTrego  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

I think that would be an excellent idea for a quick setup that’s gonna be better quality than a phone!

I’m leaning in that direction. I just don’t know how much of a pain it would be to sync audio between the two cameras.

If you use an editing software like Davinci or premiere pro it’s only a few clicks
