    Apologies for the random names that popped up in the middle (or your welcome if it was your name!)
    But let us know below: what were some questions you'd like us to expand on in future video?? We'd love to hear

    Thanks so much for another great video!
    1) What do you both do to de-stress after a long day of work?
    2) Could you please add the slack channel invite in the description? Would love to join!

      Appreciate it Simran! Neel here answering the questions:
      1). For me, I workout everyday (do CrossFit). So that helps me soooo much with feeling better, getting in a great workout, and also socializing (because it's a group class).
      2). This actually wasn't our slack channel, but we are thinking of building a community (just unfortunately been busy with other things). So if we create one, I'll make sure we get you invited!

    Hey Neel and Rohit. Thank you both so much for providing this amazing content. I'm very interested in the intersection between data science and consulting , so was wondering how easy is it to move around between more technical data science consulting roles and general consulting roles at Bain.
    Would love to hear your thoughts! :)

      Hey, I don't know easy it is or if it is even possible because I've never seen anyone do it before. I do know that the recruiting process for each role is pretty different and so I suspect that if it does happen, you'd still have to interview for an internal transfer.

    Hi! Thank you so much for you videos. I always find them super helpful. I'll be joining the consulting services of a big 4 firm in 2021. Could you please share things I should work on (excel, powerpoint, what kind of modelling?) before joining as a business analyst? It'll be really helpful! Thanks! :)

    • @neelandrohit6490

      Congrats on the role at a Big 4 firm Ananya! That's amazing :)
      In my opinion (Neel), there's nothing you should work on. You should focus on having as much fun and traveling and experiencing life as you can before starting full time. Whatever company you are joining will train you on the job and you'll have ample time to learn from there. Plus, you can learn excel / PPT rather quickly. At least, this was the approach I took and I'm incredibly glad I did (I also made sure to pick the very last starting month I could)

    I had a Networking question - How many times should one follow-up. And what should be the gap between the follow-up messages/emails?

    • @neelandrohit6490
      @neelandrohit6490  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question! And there's no solid rule. I'd say one follow-up after your initial message is probably the most (maaaybe two if the person really does seem to want to talk to you but is just busy). And as for gap, maybe a day or two? But I'd say to do whatever feels right for you

    Hey thank you for doing this, it's super helpful. When it comes to the GPA do you know of any GPA cutoffs Bain uses for first-round interviews? Also if a higher major GPA can maybe make up for a slightly lower cumulative? Thank you

    • @neelandrohit6490
      @neelandrohit6490  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sid. To be honest, from what I've seen, Bain doesn't seem to have any GPA cut-offs (and I'm sure this applies to other firms). And for sure, a higher major GPA can make up for a lower cumulative GPA.
      However, the real ways to overcome "lower" GPA's would be to have a well formatted resume with good experiences / content and to be really good at casing.
      Otherwise, best of luck!

    Why someone who wants to enter consulting needs to work more hard on resume rather than skills?

    • @neelandrohit6490
      @neelandrohit6490  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question Nidhi. Apologies if one of us made it seem that one needs to put more time into the resume than into skills, but that's not the point we wanted to make.
      When trying to get into consulting, your resume and your casing skills are both crucial (you cannot get in without both). However, to get an interview, your resume probably matters more (although being good at casing helps a lot). But of course, once you get an interview, the only way to get an offer is to be good at casing. Does that make sense?
