This is incredible, thank you so much! This is exactly everything I need to know and more! This is going to save me a lot of time and troubleshooting. You're a hero!
Thankyou - this is super useful for a noob like me. Don't know if youre still answering questions but something is driving me crazy. When I set up exactly like this and its all working , if i press the sync button on s37 and try and record or play in time with logic click I get nothing. It seem like it should be basic but I've tried through midi like above and Ive tried going USB. Always the same - works until I hit SYNC.
You can use whatever suits your environment the best. I use a MIDI interface so that all my MIDI gear connects to my computer with a single USB cable. If you prefer to use USB direct, I have a video on setting that up as well.
Hey! Thank u for sharing. I have an issue that is blowing my mind... I use the Apollo twin as a soundcard, and when I open the subsequent editor in Logic, the console from the Apollo gets closed and I can't hear anything. So then, I restore the console, and the next thing that makes me feel stupid is when I try to rec the midi changes in new audio, the midi channel doesn't sound, and nothing is recorded. It only works if I do a live recording... But I wanted to change the sound and recording while the midi is playing. And that it's impossible for me... I really appreciate any help. Big thanks!!

Great tutorial. Do you know if its possible to sync external midi instruments to DAW clock?
When recording and adjusting filters etc on the Moog while playing does it write that as automation data in logic?
why not use usb to computer vs midi in and out? just got my s37. very confusing to connect
