    It was good to see the drain process, thank you, but I have a few concerns. Firstly the fill plug used is not the fill plug, the fill plug is under the transmission control unit under the air filter. I have been strongly advised not to fill the gearbox the way shown as it is an oilway bypassing the internal filter, so any pieces of dirt can damage the box. (several TH-cam use this plug to fill), I also think your garage may have supplied you the wrong fluid for this Asin WarnerAWF21 box which needs AW1 spec oil. EXOPRO themselves specify their NGT fluid for AW1 spec oil, not MVA. Not being negative but a DIY owner like myself could easily damage the box with dirt or the wrong fluid. Hope you take this in the positive spirit it is offered

      Hi thanks for all the concerns, I understand what you mean, well in any case this is how I did it and perhaps next time is due will take your message into consideration, i diy my car at my own risk after having done some research too, and perhaps take a chance. But I feel confident that I won’t be damaging anything, of course if I do, that would be my problem and a tragic one. So in any case I would suggest to most viewers to take the car to a garage or main dealer to carry out this procedure, as destroying your transmission would be a lot more expensive than paying for an oil change. But since we have freedom of choice, we can choose to do it or not to do it, your decision..I decided to do it after watching some videos too, and just wanted to share my personal experience.. thank you for your comment.

    Your vehicle has a closed Transmission System, opposed to an open one that would have a fill reservoir and dip stick. You should never only put in what you've take out as there is always some loss due to friction and heat and sometimes leakage. That is what the center plug is for in the drain plug. That is a fill level tube. When the level gets to the top of that inside the transmission it full and begins it pore out allowing you to know it's full. And when the center plug is removed you should only get a small amount if any draining from it. Leave the center plug out and then begin to fill it. When it's full the fluid should start to flow from the center plug. The analogy I'd use is when changing the oil you would never just put in as much motor oil as you took out as a gas combustion engine always burns some oil, same with a vehicle's transmission fluid. That center plug is there for the ease and convenience of knowing how much your transmission will take before it's full. It's the same principle as the fill tube inside your toilet tank. If you're not sure what i'm talking about open your tank, flush it and take a look at the fill over flow tube.
    Terrific video, keep up the great content.

    The Land Rover independent specialist advised me to repeat this process 3 times because there it a lot of oil still in the gearbox that doesn't drain out normally

      Sound like there is a fault with the dual clutches. Which will get worse, has the transmission oil being changed regularly ? It is recomendó every 30000 miles.

      Yes You can reset the computer after a transmission oil change but you need an OBD2 scanner. I haven’t made a video of that sorry.

      Apart from the noise it makes ? Well it doesn’t have spark plugs and it says diesel only on the fuel cap.

    Every couple of times when I turn my car on it makes an error noise and for a split second I get a gearbox fault message pop up but then it goes off. My cars automatic gears seem to be getting a little sluggish. Is this a sign that I need the gearbox oil changing or could it be an issue with the gearbox?

    • @DaringBeefcake
      @DaringBeefcake  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I think you need someone to check if there are any fault codes stored in the ecus, as it seems there might be a fault that is starting to develop, also the transmission fluid is supposed to be changed every 30000 miles as far as am aware, if it hasn't been done then perhaps is due one, at the same time your transmission may be having an electrical fault. Best to get it checked I think..
