    Mercedes V10 was great but the Honda engine of 80's 90's, was absolutely an orchestra!

      i agree. the Mercedes engine was throaty, raging, it had that oompf when it was entering the rpm range, low rpms are so satisfying too. this engine was straight "Death Metal". when the Honda was more like a good'ol Led Zep featuring Hendrix. heavy but musical. low rpms are extremely satisfying. that growl was ohlala.

    I'm an Aussie. I'm almost 28 years old.
    I was born on February 6 1997.

    My favourite races in IMSA are the Daytona 24 Hours, the 12 Hours Of Sebring and of course the Watkins Glen 6 Hour held at The Glen.
    My favourite World Endurance Championship or WEC for short is every single one from 2012 to present day.
    Watkins Glen AKA The Glen in Upstate New York, where they make steamed hams, is the best race track in the United States of America.
    Also, Francios Cevert is the greatest French person of all time, apart from Rene Arnoux, Alain Prost, and Albert The 5th Musketeer AKA Albert De Parmagnan.
    And also, 1989 is the best Le Mans ever, along with 1965, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1981, 1994 and 1995.
    The Le Mans 24 Hours is my favourite race of the year and my favourite sporting event of the year too.
    Le Mans is my favourite race track in the world along with The Glen AKA Watkins Glen and Bathurst.
    Jim Clark and Ayrton Senna are two of my favourite drivers of all time.
    They are two of the greatest drivers who ever lived.
    Colin McRae and Walter Rohrl & Henri Toivonen are three of my favourite rally drivers of all time.
    They're tree of the greatest rally drivers who ever lived.
    Burt Munro along with Freddie Spencer are two of my favourite motorcycle riders of all time.
    They are two of the greatest motorcycle racers who ever lived.
    The Ford GT40 and the Ford Mustang are two of my favourite Ford's of all time.
    Two of the best Ford's ever made. Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty are two of my favourite NASCAR drivers of all time and two of my favourite Amercians too.
    The Dodge Viper RT/10, the McLaren F1 and Mini Cooper are my favourite cars of all time.
    Search And Destroy by Iggy Pop And Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley are two of my favourite songs of all time.
    Along with Colorado Boy At Heart which is a song that wrote and recorded entirely by myself.
    It's also fun little song about Dan Colorado AKA Dan Dougherty who's from Colorado. A very cool place.
    Albert The 5th Musketeer is my favourite cartoon of all time and The Young Ones is my favourite TV show of all time.

    Grand Prix Legends AKA GPL is my favourite game of all time.
    The Shawshank Redemption and The Incredibles are two of my favourite movies of all time.
    1967, 1976, 1989, 1991 and 1997 are five of my favourite Formula 1 Seasons of all time.
    James Hunt, Nigel Mansell, Barry Sheene, Striling Moss, Mike Hawthorn and Ken Miles n David Purley are my favourite Brits of all time.
    Dan Gurney is my favourite big tall guy.

    My favourite female racers are Penelope Pitstop and Janet Guthrie & Dancia Patrick.
    Ford VS Ferrari, Rush, Senna, Grand Prix, Le Mans, Race For Glory: Audi VS Lancia, Days Of Thunder, Talladega Nights and The Love Bug & The Last American Hero are my favourite car movies of all time. The Driver as well.
    My favourite Australians are Jack Brabham, Peter Brock and Mark Skaife.
    Bruce McLaren, Burt Munro, Chris Amon, Denny Hulme are my favourite Kiwi's of all time.
    Also, Lorenzo Bandini and Valentino Rossi are my favourite Italian's of all time.
    Jacky Ickx is my favourite all around driver and my favourite person from Belgium.
    Aguri Suzuki is my favourite person and driver from Japan. Great country.

    Walter Rohrl is my favourite German and easily the best guy from Germany.
    Last but not least,
    Eddie Irvine is my favourite Irish and the best person from Ireland.

    I'm also the biggest fan of the Bathurst 6 Hour.
    I loved it since it began in 2016.
    I am also the biggest fan of the British GT Championship from the land down under and my favourite British GT Championship Season is 2024, I can't wait for 2025 and 2026.
    Also, I'm the biggest fan of the Asian Le Mans Series here in Australia and the land down under and my favourite Asian Le Mans Series is 2024 & 2021.
    And of course, I am the biggest fan of the European Le Mans and my favourite European Le Mans Series is 2024.

    I don't think I've seen a better lap around Monaco than the one set by David from 11:45 to 13:02. He didn't miss a single damn apex. Not even with the slower car in the way during the last sector.

    Back then when McLaren was sponsored by West in 1997-2005, those cars were the dominating years with McLaren, love the Mercedes engines, and those colors were the perfect setup for McLaren those years. It'll be great if West gets back sponsoring for Formula 1. Although, it may never happen again. One could dream.

      Except 2004 & 2005 (& maybe the car that they were planning for 2003 but never made it out of testing) where the engines were incredibly unreliable.

    Back when I always watched an F1 Race on TV in Australia. Nowadays, who cares ? The onboard stuff from Suzuka. Magic. I took a company transfer from Australia to Japan in 1993, just so that I could visit Suzuka about 6 times a year. I've been around Suzuka many times in the Media bus . :-)

    Check out Kimi getting on the power SO early out of Luffield! Normally it's such a slow, arduous slog of a corner (I always preferred the double-apex of 1996 and prior) but he blitzed it out of there as if it were a high-speed turn.

    Fun Fact : That Honda V10 from 1990 was better than the V12 from 1991 and 92. Had slightly less top end than the V12, but was better to set up since it was not as heavy, and needed less fuel.
    Berger said it was a mistake to switch from V10 to V12.

      1991, 1992-McLaren had V12 Honda engine
      1993- they had Ford V8
      1994-propably no footage found(Peugeot V10)

      It’s emphatically the 1990: Honda RA100-E, 3,490 cc (213.0 cu in), 72° V10, NA, mid-engine, longitudinally mounted 😉

    Idk, but the first 3 sounded like the V12s...the rest sounded like V10s. Great era in F1 though.
