🇮🇪 Dublin Through an Asylum Seeker's Eyes 1

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 4 ส.ค. 2024
- This video documents an inside view of the asylum seeker process in Ireland as told by someone who has been through the process. This Iranian man has spent five years in Ireland as he flees religious persecution. He outlines the challenges faced by an asylum seeker in a new country with a different culture and language. Inside human migration.

Topics covered:
Insights into the IPAS system and IPO Dublin that I don't believe most people know.
What he believes the asylum seekers in tents on the streets of Dublin get angry about.
His experience moving through the Irish asylum system.
His thoughts on living in Ireland and accusations of racism against the Irish people.
Part 2 will be a deep dive into the asylum system concentrating on the Muslim religion, visa applications, and passport control among others.
Ireland is struggling with an increase in refugees and asylum seekers numbers (some we know are unvetted and undocumented), while we no longer look after our own homeless, many of whom are dying on the streets. (See playlist). This is not an opinion. This is a fact. Some would say Ireland is full.
As frustrations build among the people of Ireland who see the influx, we allow our own to remain in emergency accommodations and unsafe hostels, and the Irish homeless are dying on our streets. My only aim in posting this video is to document the harsh conditions and show the reality of Dublin without the veneer the media tend to gloss it over with.
I am neither right-wing, far right. xenophobic, nor a threatening person. My second home is India purely for the love of the culture and people. Your comments attacking me personally I shrug off or refuse to answer as I'm self-aware enough to know who I am and where my head's at.
*** This video is not posted for any reason other than to document the changing face of Dublin over the years and hopefully in a small way affect the housing situation here. Any comments are the commenters only and do not always reflect mine. I cannot control opinions and as a believer in free speech, I don't want to delete opinions even if they differ from mine.
I appeal to Helen McEntee, Roderic O'Gorman, and Micheál Martin to watch this video.
Also in this playlist is an eye-opening video that takes you inside Dublin's Mount Street tent city IPO Dublin refugee camp, where homeless asylum seekers face harsh living conditions and threats to their own safety. Learn about the reality of refugees in Ireland and how to stay safe in Dublin. Is direct provision working?
I initially visited Dublin's Mount St. to shed light on the living conditions of those who have been forced (or chose) to flee their homes in search of safety or 'opportunity'. As I walked through the camp with my camera, I was met with both curiosity and hostility.
Some refugees saw my camera as a threat and warned me to stop filming, threatening to break my camera and k**l me if I returned.
I felt a mix of emotions - empathy for their hardships, frustration at the lack of privacy and sanitation, and fear of potential backlash. Despite the challenges, I knew it was important to capture their reality and document this moment in Irish history.
As I continued to document the camp, I was approached by a group of men who demanded I delete the footage and leave immediately. I tried to reason with them, explaining nothing I was doing was unlawful, but their anger only grew.
At that moment, I had to make a decision - prioritise my safety and comply with their demands, or stand my ground and continue filming.
Ultimately, I chose to continue recording as I was told by the Garda / Police, that I was well in my rights to do so. However, the experience left me with a greater sense of urgency to advocate for the Irish homeless and those homeless in Dublin.

@Sonny-bw6ti where’s that figure from friend?
Full or not, regardless. They’re not wanted.
Full doesn’t necessarily mean population or space. We simply don’t have the infrastructure, health services, Garda numbers, ‘available’ housing etc. We’ve lots of space.

Why do they always play the victim. Making a statement saying that they fight, go to another country. My taxes are paying for your stay.
i don't believe they fleeing war..
Neither do I David
But their not fleeing war
On the scrounge more like thanks to our overpaid threcherous politicians
Its so frightening to see... i bet no women walk that canal like they used to ( say walking the dog ect ) and children cant play at these places... it disturbed me how the whole dynamic of such a lovely place has changed - its so crazy that here in the UK there has been prolonged intense racism to travellers and Gypsies with police given powers to confiscate their motor homes and vans; crushing them and leaving them homeless ( this law was only passed last year ) yet this new wave of illegal immigrants get protected and can pitch up their tents wherever they want? the inequality is heartbreaking... My Husband is Anglo-Irish and my mother is Romani Gypsy - We are Travellers that live in a van and are forever receiving constant racial abuse from locals and the council just because of the way we live - i add that we live like ghosts... like church mice just trying to preserve our heritage...
It frightens me to see how quick our Countries are changing... How much it bends to compensate for the influx of all these illegal men... there's no emergency stop button saying 'thats enough'...
It freaked me out when the fella you were interviewing said that if rattle these fella's they will go and find someone weaker to take their frustrations out on them... it sounds like if they dont get treated how they want' they will turn to violence?... do we want that mentality here? to be honest for 2 small islands we weren't the most stable of communities anyway with a long history of infighting... it seems just as things started to settle and the past was being addressed maturely and amicably' Now we are flooded with destablizing cultures that do not want to integrate.
Truly we must sort our own house out before inviting strangers in... or letting them in....
We understand racism... as we have been victim to it... and wanting to preserve your country is not racism... wanting to save what is left is not racism... Good luck Bogtrotter , stay safe and keep up the fantastic work your doing... this has to be documented... years in the future your work will be recorded in history... x
Thank you so much for that honest and informative comment friend
And yes a leisurely stroll down the canal is a thing of the past.
No emergency stop button. I often think about that notion. A stop button but also a rewind one.
You couldn’t have phrased this better. The part about peace being reached between the infighting factions is so true, just to go back to the same old, but in my opinion, worse. What planet are our politicians on? I’m afraid that we’ll look like South Africa in the future. Two separate communities who don’t want to or just can’t understand the other. The mindset of certain people can’t be changed and I don’t want to live like that.
Beautifully put.

They shouldn't be here, Why are they here? , . Try asking the irish citizen how angry they are!,
We’re getting angrier and angrier friend
@bogtrotterErin The government has mistaken our kindness for weakness. They are insulting our intelligence ,our heritage, our land !
To give you an example of how it works in other parts of the world, Catholicism and Protestantism is on the rise so how do the locals deal with it. If you are the preacher they take you and your family into the street and behead you. They burn or blow up the church. Another example was 4 teenagers were in there dormitory saying a rosary and a local leader came in with four men and took a machete to them. Even if your the victim and you defend yourself you can be executed by local police. I think in Ireland we are being way to polite about this whole affair.
They are fingerprinted, but not checked on any databases. Because there is no databases.
I hear you Harry. But they’ll be known here.
There is.
It's more complicated than that.
They can't possible be known here if they can so easily lie about age name etc...
I've been telling everyone for years they've been told to say they're from war torn countries like Syria, Lebanon, Paletine, etc (especially Christian parts), when most of them are from the Afr1can continent Morroco, Algeria etc.
Pakistanis and Indians have seen the opportunity and are jumping on it when their numbers were already scary high in Europe. Canada has a huge problem with these specifically.
Say bye bye to european culture and all western nations.
Protesting is not working and who is this know it all telling irish what to do
He’s making suggestions
He has his own channel (marcjush) highlighting the problem. Hes doing far more than you are to bring awareness to this issue.
Typical moaning Irish who don’t get up off their arse to come together and protest and then they complain
@billybanter9573 This isn’t Marc in the video. we all do our part with one goal. We just do it in different ways.
Marc isn’t in this video. This is an Iranian man
Great video and good advice not to take anger out on the refugees, our anger should be directed towards the people who’ve created this environment.
Bull shit, it should be directed at all involved. They need to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome till they leave
More and more will come . They are just pawns in this destabilisation by design through mass immigration. The real question is who are the Puppet Masters ushering in this whole thing ? Know your Enemy.
That's a tricky one. We all know anger doesn't necessarily sort things. However, on the other hand, it's very difficult to see Irish homeless being forgotten. Children with scoliosis left without help. Not being able to get GP appointments or hospital care. And the list goes on ad nauseam.
For some people, it may feel like Irish people are treated like second-class citizens in their own country. This is understandably upsetting.
From an Irish person's perspective; it can seem like the Irish people have become invisible and unwanted in their own country, and this is not only grossly unfair, but also very hurtful.
Irish people may feel like they are voiceless, that their rights and concerns are silenced, that they are now non-entities.
This whole sorry debacle should have been handled properly right from the start.
Agreed Anna
if your in a bmw please don’t put your finger up to them. they might go and fill an innocent irish man in
They are not wanted here even we know the a party is over and its time to leave.

He's saying all these men were "sent here" like its not their fault, and we've no right to be angry with them. We know many of these men have no business being in this country and we know why they're here. Ireland is having 1.7 fertility rate, it is well below the replacement rate. this number is already skewed against the native Irish because the fertility rates for the already existing immigrants is above 3. The number seems small but 3/4 generations later native Irish people will be a minority. The number don’t lie.

why come here so aggressive, shouting at staff, etc, to intimidate them ,or give bad vibes, doesn't want me to feel more for them ,maybe less

@@bogtrotterErin nonsense hes clearly trying to speek for all immigrants witch he vant do ! And like him I'm entitled to my opinion too 🇮🇪
6:01 he literally said "but some of them do"
Get them out.. we will not be 2nd class citizens in our own country.. if the government dont agree then they have to go also
Great work bud
Nice one Ger
There was something about the road to hell and good intentions I seem to recall
I must admit I am not always compassionate towards all people who claim to be Asylum seekers, however, I do think they are someone's son, someone's brother and that changes my heart. I would not like my son sleeping in a tent in a city in a foreign country, God bless us all.
I hear you. I’m frustrated at the illegals when others are desperately fleeing war.
I'm interested to know. What is the Governments long term goal with all these people coming in? Will they stay here permanently, work, etc?
Simple answer is our gov call us European now ( NOT IRISH )
They want our “ Irish culture “ GONE.
And have all Europeans the same with no separation or community.
Just came across your channel on TH-cam , can’t believe what’s happened in Ireland , from Dublin myself being living in the States for quite a while now , it’s an eye opener ! If i landed back home now trying to claim welfare I’d be told to take hike ! Mad what’s going on ! Glad my Mother and Father are not around to see this . The bloke you interviewed seems decent enough .
Thanks Anne. You wouldn’t know Dublin if you returned I’m afraid
Anne is the Wife , I’m Liam !😁😁😁 Take care ! Look after yourself , I’m from Gardiner Street originally , where are you from yourself ?
Thank you ❤
@@SarahConnorIE thanks Sarah
Great insights. when are you releasing Part 2?
As soon as I can friend. I’m only doing this 7months so it’s extremely difficult for me to make these videos.
That first man is so right. Different religion, with different attitudes towards women. Remember you offer citizenship to people after five year living in Ireland. Ireland is changing! Hopefully this will be positive and not a regression in social attitudes towards women plunging is back into the dark ages.!
