It’s a disgrace they stopped singing hymns in school and saying merry Christmas happy Easter. But encourage all children to respect Eid and learn about every culture and religion except the British religion and history. Schools unfortunately have distanced themselves from our own heritage by trying to be inclusive. No hymns or prayers. But almost every school will have a room for Muslims to pray. We have given them everything, whilst forgetting to teach children to respect the country and culture they live in.
So very true. I felt very sad to hear that a primary school local to me did not celebrate Easter this year but they did discuss Ramadan, which occurred at a similar time. Don't the schools know that Easter is the most important time in the Christian calendar, giving a message full of hope and fresh starts? It is perfect for children to have fun decorating Easter Bonnets and noticing flowers and trees suddenly waking up after the cold and dark of the winter.... colourful spring flowers such as daffodils and crocuses, buds on trees etc In addition, I live in a rural area, the children at this particular primary school could have taken a look at new born lambs and hens with chicks, all out there for children to observe and celebrate.

My experience growing up in the 80’s and 90’s as a British born Sikh… All the kids were happy to participate in nativity and assembly, mass etc …. ( Hindu/ Sikh/Buddhist/ Jew/Catholic/Christian/ Agnostic/) however…. One group would refuse to participate and got treated as if they had a special pass. The message was clear: their religious ideology was more important than social cohesion in a democratic country. So yes I agree, it starts in schools. It’s not right. One law should apply to all. Support your country and culture , or move to a country/culture that you support.

Many other causes: 1.) People start resenting others only when they become a threat. The problem is, leaders never listened to people who warned against this level of immigration. There has been migration throughout history, but never at this level. So they were able to integrate into the community, there was time to get to know neighbors and become friends. Assimilation was a goal for immigrants too - now they tend to stay within their own enclave. 2) Immigrants are seen as getting all the resources - staying in hotels, getting phones, etc. while the locals are having a difficult time themselves, especially after the pandemic. Legal immigrants on the other hand are expected to fend for themselves and not be burdens to the state. It is not the fault of the immigrant - it is the fault of the leaders who promoted this policy without thinking through the consequenes. Look at what happened in Germany & how Angela Merkel had to walk back her own immigration policy. .

My Uncle fought in Normandy and the Ardennes Forests in the 101st Airborne to help preserve and save Britain and Europe. It’s a disgrace they stopped singing hymns in school and saying merry Christmas happy Easter. But encourage all children to respect Eid and learn about every culture and religion except the British religion and history. Schools unfortunately have distanced themselves from our own heritage by trying to be inclusive. No hymns or prayers. But almost every school will have a room for Muslims to pray. We have given them everything, whilst forgetting to teach children to respect the country and culture they live in.

In addition, I live in a rural area, the children at this particular primary school could have taken a look at new born lambs and hens with chicks, all out there for children to observe and celebrate.

My experience growing up in the 80’s and 90’s as a British born Sikh…
All the kids were happy to participate in nativity and assembly, mass etc …. ( Hindu/ Sikh/Buddhist/ Jew/Catholic/Christian/ Agnostic/) however…. One group would refuse to participate and got treated as if they had a special pass. The message was clear: their religious ideology was more important than social cohesion in a democratic country.

That's that problem.
Many other causes: 1.) People start resenting others only when they become a threat. The problem is, leaders never listened to people who warned against this level of immigration. There has been migration throughout history, but never at this level. So they were able to integrate into the community, there was time to get to know neighbors and become friends. Assimilation was a goal for immigrants too - now they tend to stay within their own enclave. 2) Immigrants are seen as getting all the resources - staying in hotels, getting phones, etc. while the locals are having a difficult time themselves, especially after the pandemic. Legal immigrants on the other hand are expected to fend for themselves and not be burdens to the state.
It is not the fault of the immigrant - it is the fault of the leaders who promoted this policy without thinking through the consequenes. Look at what happened in Germany & how Angela Merkel had to walk back her own immigration policy. .
