I'm broke and homeless, couch surfing. I over extended myself trying to help family with mental illness. This was not successful. Theft, identity theft, physical illnesses... life has been a blues song. Life is still currently a struggle. However I have I.T. services experience, much of it, and have founded companies before - despite my current circumstance. I am going somewhere with this, I promise. I cant afford an LLC now. And didnt want to dump time into trying to compete on fiverr or upwork. I've been dreaming, fantasizing, of a way to do services work since I know I can excel there but I dont have the business or company structure to support it. Your fiverr tip instantly blew my mind. I initially had to get over the human nature guilt of not having thought of something so obvious myself. I cannot possibly stress enough how life changing that one tidbit is for me right now. Good luck to you. I know life can be very hard...very, very hard sometimes. I went through my savings taking care of my fiancé when he suddenly became ill. He passed away and I became homeless. Couldn't believe it. Anyhow, OK now but it was rough. Time heals.
But the work hasn’t been completed and the payments have not been transacted so you really didn’t actually make $700 what you did was make enough phone calls to get the promise to deliver on three jobs and hopefully get paid for those three jobs but you didn’t actually make that money in four hours - if you had done yardwork for four hours and someone handed you $700 cash check or credit card that would be making $700 in four hours. We just need to be transparent on the Internet.
If she got them to pay on Fiverr (standard for this practice) then she collected payment before performing the task, then worked on over-delivering. That money could possibly be refunded, otherwise.
True.. Also, the video went weird. She made 0 with the plumbers and suddenly, after 1 minute, she completed the challange. It felt rushed, scripted and gave me the impression she couldn't say she failed. It was a show for the camera. I didn't believe that challange was done.
How does it work this? Do you open the account on fiver , then you ask them to pay full amount ? Or partial? Partial meaning one quote to start the job and the rest once its completed? Who will trust pay full ammount with no reviews or previous experience?

And a step further with the free assessment when local business owners are not ready commit. We got to be relevant and gain their trust; local owners earn their money through hard, physical, and difficult environment conditions at times; they know little about the digital world and some are thriving despite their digital handicap. Trust is earned! I appreciate your video.
If one was planning to do this very locally, one could solve the issue of some businesses having no contact listed by going directly to the business and either making first contact in person or getting a useful contact number. One could also potentially offer light photography to at least get decent pictures of the location - for an upcharge, of course.

I live close to where she looked on the map montana/wyoming and the web savvy is VERY low in my area, a lot of businesses just dont put up google ads because they dont know how and dont care. i do cybersecurity, and i do what youre talking about on that angle. but i am adding your idea to my business model. thank you.

This is wonderful. So you are basically doing a prospect call (don't present to the gatekeeper), to brief discovery, giving a good loss leader, and then a presentation. I would suggest in the presentation offering 3 cost choices with the middle cost generally being the sweet spot. Been on UpWork 10 years but not sure I would use it for this idea. Closing out a project with a delighted new client leads to renewal (monthly) revenue and the right time to ask for referrals - and how... Use a positioning statement/S.T.A.R questions, add in your USP - set up the next step (CTA). for the initial scripting...

I am in Spain so I am experimenting with several free phone options (I don't want to spend on regular international calls). I will post here updates how things go (but only if they go well of course). The key I know is simply the hardest (& what most don't do): consistency & stick with it. So, I have set an initial goal to contact 300 potentials (10/day for 30 days) before assessing whether or not this works. -------- On another note: I understand that if I contact businesses that haven't claimed their business profile yet, it can take up to 2 weeks for Google to approve it, (as per Google's course), but if they have claimed it but have an un-optimized profile, I could probably get it all done (optimize their profile) in 1 day and get paid quickly. Correct? or am I missing something?

Great info! Actually, implementing this a consulting business. I have created a postcard to mail out to establish a relationship giving opportunity for them to call, and then initiate a call back in about a week after I know the postcard has been delivered. As far as getting paid, if you plan to make this into a full-time venture, one will need a square or stripe account so you could send an invoice directly to the customer as well. I will let you know how it goes in about a week or two. This is actually the only video I have found that gives you a business you can make money with right away without watching a long webinar just to get hit with a $3k investment just to find out it doesn't work anyway. For the account, why not just create a new gmail address specific to the business? Then you can hand it over complete and unentangled with anyone's personal email. (BTW, Thanks for this, it's inspiring! Right on time too if you know what I mean!)
If you scale up making a new account for each client would be a repetitive, unnecessary and time consuming step witch would be easily solved by using one account and just adding the owner of the business as owner of the GBP/GMB profile (Im not sure if there can be 2 simultaneous owners but you could be a manager anyway)
For those who are struggling with cold calls: Don't expect results after the mentioned 30 cold calls😂 Be prepared to sustain 500-1000 calls (which doesn't mean that you need them for the 1st sale...)

All changed now! Google wants a video to be sent to them of the business for verification, NOT A CODE. This could take ages to do, as most business are not including things like showing there tools, the street sign, software they use, headed notepaper, and they are wanting sign written vans to be unlocked on the video! Receiving just a code has now stopped pretty much. so you cant claim and then transfer.

Ohhhh, you came so close to answering my original concern from the first video. My concern was how do you claim the business for someone else? If I use my gmail account to claim it and have the code sent to my address, which is clearly not the address on Google Maps, someone at Google is going to see this as attempt to defraud the business owner. If I use my gmail and have the code sent to the owner, and then I approach him to get the code or have him use the code, he/she is going to be certain that someone is defrauding him, and he'll have my name. The owner might think I'm trying to blackmail him/her to hold his Google Business Profile hostage. If I approach the owner prior to doing anything, the owner will at least be very skeptical. I might have to join his/her church, build a tree house for his kids, move into their neighborhood, or any number of hoops to gain the owner's trust before they will let me use their gmail account. I may as well identify myself as a Nigerian Prince (no offense to Nigerians intended - it's a meme) and have him/her pay me with gift cards from Walmart. Then after you go through the numbers game of cold calling, then you have the numbers game of gaining the trust of the owner. I see this idea as an interesting mental exercise but not anything practical. Also, all I have to do to get your "Free" guide is give you MY email address. I don't consider that to be free. I used to work with a Nigerian scientist, and your accent is much like his. Hmmmmm???? Is that just a coincidence? I know for a fact that you can build a website that allows free file downloads, because in my previous job I would create geographical content and provide free file downloads to anyone. I see no reason that you should have my email account.

Cold calling is not a skill that I have nor do I want… I was a buyer and often had to cold call vendors to buy products from them. Even though I had the upper hand as wanting to buy something from them rather than sell them something it was incredibly difficult for me to pick up the phone and call them.

Hi Anna. There are many ways you can do this. I like Fiverr and Upwork because not only can you get paid through them, but the more you get paid, the more you build your authority and the more you can get organic leads from those platforms. If you don't want either, then a landing page, an online store could work too. Depending on the infrastructure you choose you might need to set up an integration with a payment gateway for online payments.
My clients simply pay paypal. But that's only after we've set the rate for each session (if we're working together), or after the full project (if I'm going of and doing the work alone). When doing that, they pay once at the end of each session, and for the full project they are required to only pay one time at the end. It's been my experience that after hearing this, many pay upfront anyhow. Since by that point we've likely built a trusting rapport. Also, due to the nature of the work (all the location/private info we are privy to), I've never had a person not pay.

The owner might think I'm trying to blackmail him/her to hold his Google Business Profile hostage. If I approach the owner prior to doing anything, the owner will at least be very skeptical. I might have to join his/her church, build a tree house for his kids, move into their neighborhood, or any number of hoops to gain the owner's trust before they will let me use their gmail account. I may as well identify myself as a Nigerian Prince (no offense to Nigerians intended - it's a meme) and have him/her pay me with gift cards from Walmart. Then after you go through the numbers game of cold calling, then you have the numbers game of gaining the trust of the owner.
I see this idea as an interesting mental exercise but not anything practical.
Also, all I have to do to get your "Free" guide is give you MY email address. I don't consider that to be free. I used to work with a Nigerian scientist, and your accent is much like his. Hmmmmm???? Is that just a coincidence? I know for a fact that you can build a website that allows free file downloads, because in my previous job I would create geographical content and provide free file downloads to anyone. I see no reason that you should have my email account.

Cold calling is not a skill that I have nor do I want… I was a buyer and often had to cold call vendors to buy products from them. Even though I had the upper hand as wanting to buy something from them rather than sell them something it was incredibly difficult for me to pick up the phone and call them.
I have a question... how do you access the company's account? To improve and add photos you must be in the email account connected to the company's google business... should I enter with their credentials?
They need to add you on their account so you can access and manager certain areas of the profile.

Hi Anna. There are many ways you can do this. I like Fiverr and Upwork because not only can you get paid through them, but the more you get paid, the more you build your authority and the more you can get organic leads from those platforms. If you don't want either, then a landing page, an online store could work too. Depending on the infrastructure you choose you might need to set up an integration with a payment gateway for online payments.
My clients simply pay paypal. But that's only after we've set the rate for each session (if we're working together), or after the full project (if I'm going of and doing the work alone). When doing that, they pay once at the end of each session, and for the full project they are required to only pay one time at the end. It's been my experience that after hearing this, many pay upfront anyhow. Since by that point we've likely built a trusting rapport. Also, due to the nature of the work (all the location/private info we are privy to), I've never had a person not pay.
