HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

These videos are a point in the week where I can click on the video, sit back, and just relax. I love smelting and casting videos, they are so goblin-brained in the 'melt it and make a new thing!' sense, but I think that easily digestible content at the end of the week is exactly what is needed. Here's to seeing that stack finally hit a ton!
Just found this channal and wow, the results of what you can make out of metal trash are amazing.
Seeing the outcome as these polished coins and ingots gives me this pure feeling of satisfaction that i felt so often as a kid.

@@victoriagreenfield5781 i want to buy one and try this so bad it would be an awesome addition to my business but I hurt myself all the time just with my reflow soldering station and it only gets to 800f.
I got just a little cheep forge... just to clean up all the scrap metal I have around my place... but I do as much as possible to fix, repurpose and up-cycle everything I can. You would be surprised at what people give me because they can't or won't fix it themselves. Everything from a teak wood with brass hardware lounge chair (the brass arm caps allowed the wood to rot), to a large golf course style riding mower (minor repair-cleaning gas lines and sharpening of the blades)..
Living a life of casting vicariously through you. You do things I've always wanted to but never had the equipment. Keep up the great work!

If it's ticking sounds you're hearing don't worry that's completely normal, that's the metal contracting. Engines that recently shut off make that noise.

There's something really satisfying about seeing the zinc melt from just the torch. I loved seeing that process.

Never realized how much work actually goes into making just one of these - I enjoy watching you work and I find myself coming back - I tried casting once way back in high school - made a knife - my big brother broke it by throwing it at a large tree B 4 I had a chance to heat treat it - very livid was I.

It's very intriguing .I enjoy watching your episodes .your episodes especially how you break down component especially how you break down components and get the alloys out of them ,and then make other castings. Very cool.
This became my hobby!!! The most rewarding part is its “therapeutic” property. I do micro melting and also try to recover metals like copper and silver to pour my bars, there is no other activity, medication, therapy, whatever more rewarding than melting and pouring your stuff!!!!!!!!!!

I believe what you melted was a slide hammer weight, the part in the middle was the steel contact patch since brass is so soft. Cheers!
