One counter-intuitive trick for kicks is putting a high pass on them at their resonant frequency. Start with kick tuned the way you like it and the filter open but also a ton of resonance. Slowly sweep the filter up while hitting the kick until you find the sweet spot where it starts to hit harder, usually somewhere between 30-80hz. Once you find the spot you can drop the resonance back to zero then slowly dial it up to taste.
Great video, as usual! Thank you! You’re getting up there in the ethereal company of tubers like cuckoo and RMR! (And definitely the go-to place for everything opz). Thank you!
So many helpful tips and tricks, your OP-Z content is amazing man! Maybe you can show the companion app so it's easier to follow along which what values your settings have? I followed along and it went quite well, but when I got to the end, it gave some very bad popping/clicking on my bass, idk what caused that.
It's a bit tricky because I've started using my phone as a camera but this is a really common request so I'll be exploring different options for clearly showing what's happening on the OP-Z. Thanks for the feedback! I'm always looking to improve. :)
@@psimyn lovely! I tried the LFO on the distortion with the bass. Very cool! I always just had FX 1 as delay and 2 as reverb. I've now got the FX 1 as distortion and can fake delay with velocity plus tape track.
Thanks for the suggestion! Maybe next time I'll screen record the app during the video or something. Do you have thoughts on how to clearly show which buttons I'm pressing and the app at the same time? I want to make things as clear as possible but worry about cluttering the screen too much. I'd appreciate any advice you have, even if it's "don't do visuals like you did here"
Do you mean like I do at the end of the demo in this video? I played the first C note on track 13 (punch-in FX). You can also adjust the length of track 13 to put the fill at the end of the full pattern. That's definitely an upcoming video.
Do you have any tips to add? I'd love to know how to make my drums even louder.

My favorite OPZ video so far man! Great job explaining and making it fun to learn.
Thanks! I'm always grateful for your feedback and encouragement. It's been very helpful.

I'm so encouraged by that comparison! Thank you for the kind words.
This is excellent. Keep them coming 👍
Thank you!

Awesome stuff as usual. Did you say you can keep on the same parameter page when you switch tracks? HOW?!
go into disk mode, open config/general.json and set disable_param_page_reset : true

It might be easier to follow along if you use the app for visual reference. Thank you!
