the design reminds me of the Nokia N9 a little bit and I totally love it. I wouldn't personally get this purple colour though. Most definitely black colour would be my choice. I wish if they'd kept the "NOKIA" name instead of HMD. Nokia was such an iconic brand back in the day, and I'd love to keep seeing their name on modern products.
Guessing they are still gonna keep using the Nokia name on their other lines of phones (like the XR-series etc.) where they promote durability. So hopefully it won´t disappear completely :-) // Chris
@@mikkosuhonenphotography I thought 8 GB was perfectly enough here to be honest. Not sure you´re gonna see much improvement with 12 unless you´re running a lot of apps simultaneously, or a few memory hungry apps perhaps :-) // Chris
Maybe it's just my OCD, but the screen not matching the phone shape just makes it look ugly to me. It's like someone put a phone inside a rectangular brick.
Haha, totally agree. Had the same thoughts initially but the design actually grew on me as I was using the phone. Wouldn´t say it´s the prettiest phone, but it has got some charm to it. Subjectively of course :-) // Chris
afaik 4k recording has been added on August update. Mine has been updated but haven't checked for that feature, only played the camera for photography.
Hi! Really? Have not been able to test this myself since the phone has been sent back to HMD. However as far as I know the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is not capable of 4k/60, only 4k/30. There are software tricks to do it, however the quality usually suffers from that. At least from what I´ve tried in the past. But I could totally be wrong here :-) // Chris
I would buy one in a second. If it had a 4.7" screen, and an audio jack. Not everyone wants a huge screen, some like the phone to fully fit in a pocket. We have a computer and an HD projector at home. And an Audio Jack is a necessity (F*ck you Apple, and all the companies that followed your lead, but especially you.) But yeah, the phone looks good, Nokia made the best phones, and yes, Windows OS was the best OS.
Smaller model would have been nice. However the phone does feel a bit smaller to hold than its size would suggest. Was never able to fully understand the layout behind the Windows mobile OS though. Just felt messy to me. But we´re all different, and that´s what´s great :-) // Chris
@@GetThereFaster I used a Lumia 1520 for about 2 years. It was a nice phone at that time. I'd still love that design. However, I have the same feeling about the Windows Mobile OS as you do. I also feel like it's pretty dull and boring compared to the more colorful interface of Android. I went from Symbian (Nokia 6610, 7610, N97), Android (HTC One X+), Windows Mobile (Lumia 1520), back to Android and have stayed with Android since then.
@@NilupulMalinda Yeah, the Windows Mobile OS sure had an interesting look, but using it was not as interesting. Totally remember the One X+, back when HTC was a think :-) // Chris
Failed phone. Just banging on nostalgia. Time to move on. At least make a better UI. The Nokia N9 was ahead of its time in software and UI. The Lumia has great camera. If they can combine both it will be a win. And of course use a good chipset.
The UI is actually really nice here and per standard uses the smaller icon and text sizes, making the phone feel a bit more exclusive and "correct". Definitely pushing the nostalgia card pretty hard though :-D // Chris
Brightness isnot fine in that price range.. dont sell yourself for such a cheap phone.. buyest review.. lol.. this is a joke in 2024.. a phone design made in smartphone tycoon game.. now i can tell everyone why nokia(HMD) sucks .. they consider its customer as joke so they are now joke.
Fair thoughts. I think its a bit bold of them to try something different. Both with the HMD-phones and with the XR-series of Nokia phones :-) Not for everyone of course. But not much is. // Chris
Looks nice and clean. Simple video. Love the back ground set up 👌🏻
Unusual design, but yes, pretty clean somehow :-) Thank you so much for the kind words! // Chris
