A car that can slip under the radar but shouldn't at all with it having the potential to be the only vehicle you’ll ever need if you have a couple of kids, bikes or even dogs! I can confirm that from my house to the local shops, the M340i is as quick as the M3.
Seriously though, it's a road tuned fast car. You don't need more for the public road. You can get 45 mpg in Eco mode on a long run. I came to the G21 from an F82 M4 and I've not been disappointed.

@@TimWilliamsHD was thinking of doing some subtle mods - starting with improving the braking, maybe a bit of an engine tune, something v v subtle on the bodywork... i dunno, never modded a car before

I took an x3 m40i for a blat and think my spleen is in the different spot now - so hate to think how rapid the lighter and higher tuned m340i is!!! Sadly they have a higher cost in nz compared to the x3😢 kiwis love a wagon which puts it out me budget

Great quick review Tim, mine is pre LCI and I have to agree that it’s a perfect all rounder. With springs, Motech’s MW3 wheels and soon to be fitted REMUS exhaust I couldn’t need more.

IMO the pre LCI mild hybrid is the one to have. I love the hot keys on the dash I use all of them. I love the heating buttons - and I love the look of the headlights and front end, way more than the LCI. My only problem was that 22 plate cars like mine have odd deletions due to supply issues - so no buttons in the boot to lower the seats for me - also the touch pad on the idrive controller doesn't exist (actually that's probably a boon) - and I don't have a wireless charging pad - despite it having the logo.
It is a great all round car, you can do a few small modifications to really make it a step above and much closer in performance to a G8X.

Great car, mine is a Portimão blue pre LCI really skips under nearly everyone's radar which I love, my old M140 managed 29.7 mpg my M340I is able to reach 33.4mpg
Good choice man, it can definitely fly under the radar but still provide more than enough performance when needed for sure!

The M340i Touring is not available in my country, but the G81 M3 Touring is, so I really had no choice.

Hi Tim, would you need to declare the lowered springs fitted by Mtech to you're insurance provider as I've just seen a similar spec car for sale, don't want to buy before i could clarify if the premium would be to high, much appreciated

How are the M sports seats, to stiff probably? Generaly is LCI worth higher price compared to pre Lci? Looking for sedan
They are wort getting. You can't have the higher grade leather but I'd take them over the standard seats. I tried both.

@@TimWilliamsHD My dealer said that it's because our G20's are built in Mexico and only the German built cars get the option for the individual colors (and we can't import one from the EU). Getting a wrap or an entire car re-paint is the only option.

😆 I got 42mpg on cruises with my 140i and 240i so it should definitely be possible on a newer b58 surely!
I did 300 miles in Eco mode. Drove frugally but power as required. I got 45mpg.
