    We Will Rock You, written by Brian May and We are the Champions, written by Freddie were both designed to be audience participation songs for their live concerts. That's how it all started becoming an anthem, especially for sports fans.

    What is amazing to me is that this song was created for the audience. Queen from the beginning considered them selves a live performing band - to this day Freddie is considered to be the best live performer who ever lived and his friend Michael J said he was his role model. And this "simple" song is a testament of time that no one has ever come this far in engaging the crowed, to this day it is used everywhere to get people engaged.
    I love how four people shaped part of this world that they are still current 40 years later. ❤️ my love goes to all of Queen and al their fans.

  • @alisonrandall3039
    @alisonrandall3039 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was written by the guitarist Brian May. He wanted a song that everyone could join in. He said to himself how could the audience take part. He thought clapping and stomping. This was filmed in Roger Taylor’s garden. (Drummer).

    This song came out when I was in eighth grade. But I introduced it to my kids. And also "Another one bites a dust" so we could do our warm ups. But I threw Miss Katelyn to the zoo for her birthday but I had to rent a white van and took them to the zoo and a boom box and queen and love playing it for them. But I could not afford it but it was a them and it was so fun. I packed sandwiches for them and took them when the zoo was free and went to sourviner shop and bought them coloring book and crayons. And the one of the best memories I have.

    You should check out some less known Queen songs like, "Death on Two Legs" (They were sued for this one), "I'm in Love with My Car" or "'39" (Was actually played at nearly every concert in the late '70's, but since it was sung by the lead guitarist Brian May instead of Freddie Mercury, it never became a hit - Interesting tidbit on this song, it tells the story of a group of astronauts that take off on a journey at relativistic speeds and while to them they were only gone for a year, to everyone on earth they were gone for 100 years due to time dilatation)

    Off the "News of the World" album from 1977 this song, and "We Are the Champions" which follows it on the album and was the B side of the single, have become sports anthems across the world. Brian May wanted something the audience could get involved in during a show and this song was born. If you've seen the movie 'Bohemian Rhapsody", if you haven't I suggest your do, there's a scene where this song is born. I can attest to the fact that during a Queen concert the ENTIRE audience gets into it and rocks the place.

    This was filmed in Rogers back garden. It was freezing, Freddie was a little bit drunk and the gloves he is wearing are his roadies. Please react to Spread Your Wings it was made on the same day.

    You need to do Queen’s Live Aid set. It was a benefit concert and all the big name artists of the day performed to raise money for the Ethiopian famine. Each act got 20 minutes so Queen chose their songs carefully and they, from necessity, condensed them down and upped the tempo. This song featured, along with Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are The Champions (Radio GaGa, Hammer to Fall & Crazy Little Thing Called Love). Freddie’s charisma stole the show, he had that crowd of 80,000 in the palm of his hand. It’s amazing and you’ll love it!

    It never fails to astonish me how many people know this song and "We Are The Champions", even though they have no idea it is a Queen song! Since you are still on your Queen reaction tour, which I love, may I recommend, "In The Lap of The Gods", the song trilogy "Tenement Funster/Flick of the Wrist/Lily of the Valley" and Side Black of the album Queen II. They are all early Queen songs and are all awesome! You would probably be the first person to react to any of them, which would also be cool, just like you!!!!

    Just like led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker" flows into "Living Loving Maid." Queen's "We are the Champions" has to follow "We will rock you" I grew up with these songs and the radio stations ALL played them that way. It just sounds strange without the other song to finish.

      @@SincerelyShiloh Also, If you have a chance could you react to Pauline Agupitan singing "I Believe" by Fantasia. It's on the Wish Bus. I thinkwhe was only 17 when she did it. She is an amazing singer and I think she fell to the back of the Katrina Velarde and Morissette Amon line. She needs to be brought back up front. I know you will love her cover of this song.

    You should see and react to the live version of "We Will Rock You" as performed by Axl Rose of Guns N Roses from The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992. Look for how the crowd reacts and claps along to the song.

      I agree. Queen was the first band I was a fan of (and the Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert got me into Guns N' Roses 😋) and I still love them, Queen holds a very special place in my heart. But the entire dramatic arc of the movie was completely fictional, every element either made up or completely rearranged.
