1978 junk #101 shovelhead offset cylinder boring FL FX harley kwik-way by tatro machine
this is not a full motor rebuild but just some bit work so that the owner can assemble the motor himself. this saves him some money because i only do the machining and cleaning that he can not do. he does what he can and i do what is left. it is always a good thing when the owner gets involved in their project.

Just got myself a used old rusty kwikway and its cleaned up nicely and working real well, and your video was the best to show me how to use it,, You are helping me rebuild these flathead engines i have and It really is doing me and others an awesome service for people wanting to do their own work and do it the right way. Thanks Tatro.
Thank you for taking your time to share this with us!
Thanks mate. Great source of knowledge here.
That’s an impressive machine Tatro 😎
Man I need to find one of those steel triangle tables ! I had to sell mine with my kwik way boring bar when I moved back 25 years ago .
I have never seen the bottle jack adaptation. cool table
Another "boring" video,cool)
Not sure if you ever said what kind of kwik way bar that was, the size amd everything, looking for one myself, so looking at all brands, pros and cons etc, thanks for tour time and the vid brother
What model Kwik-Way is that?
What is your take on using/not using torque plates?
i don't use them because they do not repeat the warpage they cause in the cylinder bores. every time you put them on they are different. without repeatability there is no accuracy so why use them. that is their only job and they fail at it. i get the same crappy bore warpage whether i use them or not so i chose not to.

What keeps the centering fingers from flying out when you turn on the boring bar?
The id of the cylinder rubs on them creating a nice burr on the centering pins and matching gouge in the cylinder. This burr on the pin makes it easier to remove them when finished.
the part with the pins doesn't turn.
looks like i got that wrong, i guess they lock in.
Sir can you show how it can lift up with automatically reversed mechanisms
push the button in and pull up on the lever.

Sir inside mechanism whats inside sir
Is your dad still kickin around Tatro?i'm guessing he was the original Tatro bike guy.
no, lost him a couple of years ago.
tatro
Sorry to hear that:(
Why not use a snap gauge? Just saying
because a bore micrometer is many times more accurate.
