  • Tested out the Intex Mariner 3 on the Puget Sound in Seattle. We made sure we went out on the water when the tide and current weren't too strong. Be safe out there!

    I run mine with a 3hp gas outboard. She gets up to about 11 or 12 KPH fully loaded. Pretty sweet setup. Gotta love the Intex Mariners - best bang for your buck when it comes to entry level boats.

      @@obyafy1 old sears gamefisher air cooled. My speed isnt quite so good anymore, but I can still run 8 or 9 kph generally. Great little motor.

    nice set up! planning on getting one. gave me idea to get a piece of ply wood and use as a kinda deck in the front quarter to stand on and fly cast/ fish from. What thrust motor were you using? I was planning on getting a 62 lb.

    Nothing comparing to this sensation. Don't it?

    Do you recommend the Newport over a Minn Kota?

      @crabmaster8698  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I never had a Minn Kota, but the Newport is officially supported for salt water, so I got that.

    Greetings, I have a boat of those same ones and I want to put those "rulers" or "tables" that you placed, what would be the measurements, thickness and length of them. Thank you

      If you mean the wood planks for the benches it is fairly simple. I bought wood planks and cut them to the almost the maximum width of the boat. Then screwed in gate door handles for the sides.

    Can you supply a link as to where to buy that electric pump for inflating the boat? Thanks. Was that Velcro straps to secure the paddle to the side of the boat?

    Very nice. I saw you have a board on top of the ordinal flooring. What material did you use on that? Please share, thanks!

    • @crabmaster8698
      @crabmaster8698  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I used regular plywood (I think 1/4" thick) for the flooring. Trace, with a marker, the original flooring outline onto the plywood and cut them. Paint the plywood with Flexseal, then glue outdoor carpet material for the topside. Sand down or cover plywood edges with carpet to prevent ouchies. Finish with cutting out an access hole for the inflatable keel.

    I notice you said you didn't like the plywood seats. Have you made any further modifications to the Mariner 3?

    • @crabmaster8698
      @crabmaster8698  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Instead of the plywood I used a cooler with a cushion on top which is shown in the newer Mariner 3 video. Since then I've sold the Mariner 3 and bought a kayak.
