My neighborhood is starting a movies in the park night and I'm in charge of sound. Would love to see a video on best way to use a Mac (or computer in general) to display a movie on a projector and best way to get the audio for the movie to my 2 speaker and sub sound system using my Yamaha MG10XU. Maybe others are doing this type of DIY movie nights and would be helpful to others too?
You are my best find ever on YT. I learn a lot but still have trouble doing on a MG10XU what I can easily do on my AG-03 when doing live chat in game or while streaming. Other thing is my recording config. I use my MG10XU to record old skool cassettes. My cassettedeck is connected as monitor LR to record. It works, recording from USB, but my headphones I cannot adjust levels on and I find it hard r3cording AND using main stereo output.
Can you do a video for MG12XU, when and how to use the knobs and buttons and faders? How to use the SPX, FX RTN? Basically the whole thing. A video just like the one you did for MG10XU. I’m setting up for a live music and I need to know how to add mic effects. Your tutorials are awesome. Thank you.
Excellent video. I really appreciate your Vido and advise. I recently bought the MG12XU. It has been 29 years that I last performed in a group. now that i am retired, i am wanting to go it alone. the question I have is the following. Where would I connect the on-stage monitor/s on my mixer?
You'd connect your mixers xlr outputs or the 1/4" outs to a power amp and then to passive (non powered) monitors / speakers or directly to powered monitors / speakers. The board does not power speakers itself but sends the signal that needs to be powered to whatever you have for listening.
For the group out in the case of a single speaker for announcements only, use TRS cables to a DI and from there switch the powered speaker to mic input in the software? Speaker will be further than 15’ away.
ok so I have a question. I have a mixer mg10xuf and I have the ST/MON button on it and when I turn on the MON my computer doesn't record sounds from the computer (games etc etc etc) and that is good. the problem is that I have my laptop (streaming laptop) hooked up to another channel where there is no st/mon button and unfortunately my colleagues on teamspeak can hear everything that is happening on the stream laptop. Will changing the mixer to 12 help solve this problem ? Thank you
My problem is that I just got my new MG 12 X. And I can get pre-fader levels and listen through the headphones but I cannot get a master level where I am hearing it to go out to the main so to speak. Or to hear the stereo mix out of the headphones. I’ve owned two of these before, and never had this problem.
Kettner Creative; I would like to know who or where can I get assistance on using SAM Broadcaster software with a Yamaha MG12XU mixer, I have been having massive issues on syncing or getting the correct settings in the SAM Broadcaster so that I can use a mic when I am connected to the mixer and doing a Live Radio or a interview. Please advise.
I have a Yamaha MG12XU . I am trying to record onto a Boss micro 80 . I cannot get the effects from my mic channel 1 to come out through the headphones . Do you have any advise please?
I'm just transitioning from the MG10XU to the MG12XU. I used the "To Mon/ To ST" button located at 9/10 on the MG10 to isolate the music coming into the mixer via USB and send it to monitor only. IE I could sing to the music coming in from the computer, but record just my voice in my comp software. There's no such button on the MG12. Can anybody help me with this? Thanks

Xlr outs are probably the better outs to use as they are usually a little quieter noisewise.
