Great tips. My favorite two are “just answer the question” and “show how additional support will move the npo forward.” The 7th item I’d add is follow up-confirm the foundation received the npo’s application AND put together a 6-month and a 12-month report showing how the support has benefited the npo, as we are often hoping to grow the relationship with the foundations over future years. The one challenge I often see is fundraisers struggling to find general operations funds vs. program-specific funds, as many more foundations tend to bend towards program specific grants vs. npos, who prefer general operations funding. When this happens, I usually have to show them how to package parts of their general operations into a pseudo program with goals, objectives, rationales, short-term & long-term measurements, who’s responsible for what, and timelines. It’s not a quick process because often many npos don’t think in this fashion, more emotional driven and less numbers driven.
Just learned about grant writing! Omg I’m so excited to learn how to do this. My non-profit will be able to get started when I had no idea where or how to start! ❤
Thank you so much for your videos Amber 🥰 I have just started my brain storm for setting non profit organisation to help build a hospital back home in Africa to treat kids with tumours. I am genuinely lost 😞
Thank you so much for sharing this! I am just now starting in this field and I wonder how I can find a mentor to guide me through this journey? Thanks a bunch! Viviane

Thank you so much for your videos. I am new on your channel. I am an American citizen living in Kiev, Ukraine. One year ago I started a nonprofit rehabilitation center for injured soldiers. I have a question from point number 1. If the Fund only grants $500 do you still state your whole budget or do you only write the budget that you are asking for?
It depends on the grant application. Some funders will ask you to provide your entire annual budget; others may only ask for the budget for their grant contribution.
Hello and good afternoon I hope you are well. I started a community interest company last year where We plan to provide counselling/psychotherapy to people on benefits and low incomes but we have not yet manged to get any funding. Do you know anyone who can help ? I am in England UK thank you
I don't personally know all the amazing donors out there, but some of my videos talk about how to start fundraising and attracting donors! I hope they are helpful :)
With the development of "Go Fund Me" isn't it easier to go that route as opposed to waiting for funds from various grant sources that may or may not be profitable?

Yes! I agree with the follow up. I get paranoid my emails don't go through, LOL so that has helped.
Thanks for a helpful and straightforward presentation! Looking forward to following you online as I embark on my grant-writing mission.
Yay! Welcome, changemaker!

Welcome to the channel! 😊
I’m new to grant writing , this may be a stupid question but is there anyways I can practice ?
No stupid questions :) I would partner up with a nonprofit and volunteer to write a few grants for them as practice.
Thank you, enjoying your videos and learning tons! 😊
I'm so glad!
Very helpful tips
Glad it was helpful!!

You're welcome!
Thanks Amber! Does anyone know of a way to have someone look over my grant proposal after writing one? I don't have a mentor to go to.
Check out your local center for nonprofits! Sometimes they have pro bono consultants. :)
Thanks 👍 for the good job
Thank you too!
Thank you, guide me how to learn more from you
Definitely check out my other videos!
How is the best way to find a good local grant writer?
Your local Nonprofit Center may have some suggestions!
Thank you
Welcome!

Hi. am abdikadir nonprofit founder and chairman how can I get funding for new ngo in African and tips
Where abouts in Africa and what does your non profit do?
Write a case for support, present it to prospective donors, ask for donations.
Thanks Paul! Yes, a written plan is a good start!

Certainly there are many ways to fundraise as a nonprofit! If you are specifically seeking grants though, this video shares tips about that route.
Hi Amber
Do you have a personal account I can make contact with you, I have some questions.
Thank you
Welcome! Hope you're well!
