60 Cycle Hum did a comparison between one of these and the reissue version of the Gonkulator, and the gut shots are almost identical. It looks like these are being made in the same factory as the DOD counterparts for sale over in Asia, hence the components and knob layouts being identical. "Ginean" also has a handful of other 2010s-era DOD pedal clones, including the Carcosa ("Hairy Show Fuzz" and "Factory Fuzz"), Gunslinger ("Excitation"), and Boneshaker ("Massive Overdrive").
Yeah, those azor pedals are weird shaped. I have a weird off-brand reverb in that shape. I just ordered this one from ali-express for 33 bucks after shipping. Can't wait to check it out with some distortion and reverbs and all that. I think this is a Gonkulator, for sure. But oh well. I don't want to pay 150 bucks for the real one. I'm just glad that at least they have their own logo on there.
Just a heads up: this clone has been a great purchase. I’m new to ring mod pedals, but this one finally won me over, and that DOD Grunge distortion circuit is an awesome bonus! Took me around 3-4 hours to get the hang of it, but it was worth it. I hooked up my Roland S1 to see how it sounded, and I love the result. I lost access to this channel awhile back but I am the owner of this channel. Now that I've built some more pedals (some of which are on here but I share alot on my Instagram) I realized the distortion on this is a grunge and a grunge pedal is a modified rat. Thanks for watching this.
It's an acquired taste. I mean for me it's not an always on pedal and works better with synths. I also like the frantic nature in which I open shit. Especially one handed lol.
I love ringmod. It's not something I use all the time and I feel it works better on synths but I dunno. The way it sounds with guitar i always found way interesting. The album the ugly organ is the first time I heard one and questioned "how the hell they do that?" And it's funny I bet I heard a billion songs with it and like devo and never questioned how it was done.

I’m not a fan of ringmod, meaning I don’t use it myself, but I enjoyed the demo. I like what you did with it here.
