Some people think that the Amish are stuck in the past, but its more accurate to say they cherish a different life aesthetic. They value craftsmanship even in the areas you cannot see, they also tend towards basic time-proven designs and materials. They have adopted newer products as long as they uphold simple and durable and practical qualities. Window ac units get no love, but they are effective and durable - and from a practical standpoint a tired window ac unit can be replaced by anyone at a low cost that cannot be beat.
I really like this home. I would want a island in the kitchen, bigger counter top in bathroom and the closet in spare room. Otherwise it's perfect for me and other retirees. Shout-out to the Amish for building this home and for sharing this beautiful home.
I really like it also but have one big problem with the only bathroom not having any storage at all. I'd love to see the outside materials somewhat mimick the interior & thoes 2 things would make a huge impact & really set this place off even more. Exterior lacks appeal to thoes with a extra eye for craftsmanship IMO.
This is beautiful. And it mimics Amish homes with their big open family rooms - plenty of room for chairs for everyone. At this point in my older life, this is all I need or want :)
Land on average is $20k foundation underground plumbing underground electrical $15-25k and $40k for the building itself. On a high end $85,000 = No crazy mortgage. 😊
Not necessarily, you can always find a dirt cheap "fixer" up and build from it. I found one today actually 7/9/2024. For 20k. And that includes house, existing plumbing already there and 1 acre of land. For 20k.
OMG! A corgi!! My husband and I have 3 corgis so anytime I see another corgi, I get so excited❤. We're actually about to close on a new home from Clayton homes and we can't wait to see our corgis get to enjoy all the room they'll have.
No doubt about it, this home is built solid! I like the simplicity of it. It does have a cabin look about it on the inside. I like the hardware on the doors, closets, and cabinets.
I like this a lot but no too the pedestal sink and I think I'd want an a/c on the other side of the house too. Maybe a wood burning fireplace or stove.
Chance?? This is a very different looking home!! It had a feeling of a farmhouse and a modern cabin! Pretty Sturdy!! A Down Home Kind Of Feel!! All The Rooms Are Spacious!! Just A Old Fashioned Way To Live!! Thank You for sharing this with your viewers!!
This is THE PERFECT HOME! Metal exterior and cedar interior means no termites or carpenter ants or moths!!! I'd throw my wood stove in it and be good to go. And at $40,000 and not made like a factory built home, but by the Amish, you are getting so much more for your dollar. I'd much rather have this home than anything else I see on the market!❤
No one would have you on mute you have a lovely voice. I appreciate what you are doing because I already have a home. I also have a lovely piece of land across the road from where I am living all ready landscaped I have been thinking , looking , trying to find something suitable to have built or moved on the land , by watching. You I am getting some good ideas. Thank you appreciate what you are doing.
The house/cabin is beautiful at a reasonable price! I would just add another bathroom. But with that price it would be easy and I love the idea of the air conditioner in the wall that makes so much sense
Don’t understand why the ceiling fan is not centered. And needs a vanity sink, not pedestal sink. Enough room for one. As it stand no room on the sink area for anything
That AC unit is very loud. Did they find the cheapest unit they could. Or wait maybe that is the bathroom fan as Change is almost yelling over the noise
The price is awesome. Paint it white on the inside and make it look farmhouse style. Put a small back porch on the back. A big shed for storage. It could really work.
Chance, the "go gitter" as you called it is usually called the gopher on a construction site. They go pher this, they go pher that. Family owns a construction company in Mississippi.
This is marvelous! You did a great job, Chance, and since the Amish built it, I'm sure it's solid! I really like all that wood and the floors even look like they're wood and not vinyl! Great job. Great house. God bless you and your family!
I absolutely really love the layout of this place. I would definitely would want to live in a place like this. It's absolutely gorgeous. I really love the openness of the living and kitchen area. I also love the interior of this place place. ❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome all I would want to change is put an island in the kitchen, dishwasher and a walk in shower in the bathroom but I love the tongue and groove pine it's beautiful
My dad had a portable sawmill. He built his own house and help one of his brothers build his house. Looks a lot like this one. Just different floor planes.
That is all I would need. I grew up in a 800 square foot home, and one wall air conditioner cooled the whole thing just fine. Of course, I wasn't in the South either.
What the Amish have over every other builder is they work in coordination like an ant colony. Every one has their specific job that they are good at. I have heard of them putting up houses in a tenth of the time it takes even a prolific builder. Also , I have no doubts a hose and carriage brought this home here. In prices of course. But still a feat in itself. This house will be ther in a hundred years. There is method to the way they tr everything in cedar. It’s because when termites attack wood they start on the edges. Square edges that they can grab with their tiny mandibles. That’s also why they round off the edges where food is prepared. If it isn’t a forty five degree corner cut peice of wood it’s harder for tiny mouths to get a bite out of it. Sort of like a candied apple. The three coats of polyurethane helps with that too. They. Havee everything down to a science. They’ve been doing this for many many years. Everybody works. No packers or slackers. The women do pot luck picnics while the men work. Younger boys are gophers, younger girls babysit the little ones or help feed the family and are gophers for the kitchen. A well oiled machine at its very very best. Everybody gets along!
Chance I like to see double front doors in the center of house and a porch all the way cross the front other than that I thought it was GREAT . I would have liked the ceiling fan centered .
Absolutely beautiful wood in this home. I love how they contrast with the trim. The only thing I don't like is the 1 bathroom. At least have 1 1/2 baths.
I like a lotta things about the house, buf w/change some things also. I'm not a fan of all yellow pine everywhere! I like painted shiplap on some walls..& vertical applications in others. I really like the corrugated steel ceilings that some use. W/they or other Amish closer in..build to specifications..in size..more windows?.and are the walls 6" studs w/insulation?
Absolutely love it is it sold as a kit or do they do the walls insulation Electric and Plumbing we are retired and fixing to downsize please get back with me on this
I was going to say I didn't care for it, but then I saw the price and suddenly, I love it.
There is a large Amish community in my hometown. BEST neighbors you will ever have! Their craftsmanship is that of none other.
That is what I keep hearing!
I have Amish and Mennonite they are awesome neighbors!

A simple life is soo appealing. Not that their lives are easy. But less junk to distract them from the important things in life.

You can easily add an island as a movable piece with locking casters.
Wow, I wish I had the money, the land, and septic. I would be happy forever. I love this.
Same here. 😊 I really like this home.

Nope! Just property taxes that make it so you never actually own your home

The Amish did a very good job!
👏👏👏👏👏
Thus is exactly wat I did. Mines only 450 Sq ft but built by the Amish, and we're finishing the inside
You are brilliant!
Chance, you were the water boy! lol
Wow 40K! Amazing
OMG! A corgi!! My husband and I have 3 corgis so anytime I see another corgi, I get so excited❤. We're actually about to close on a new home from Clayton homes and we can't wait to see our corgis get to enjoy all the room they'll have.

You have to appreciate the craftsmanship that they’ve put into this home.
Tell you this,
Anytime Amish or Mennonites build something , Their craftsmanship lasts a long long time..
Very hard workers.

I would never call this a shed to house--very well built home. Nice cabin feel for a lake house.
The house/cabin is beautiful at a reasonable price! I would just add another bathroom. But with that price it would be easy and I love the idea of the air conditioner in the wall that makes so much sense
Excellent price and well built.
It would make a great vacation cabin. Needs a countertop instead of a pedestal sink. Pedestal sinks are for half baths.
Don’t understand why the ceiling fan is not centered. And needs a vanity sink, not pedestal sink. Enough room for one. As it stand no room on the sink area for anything
the fan is centered over what would b the living room the back half would b the dinning room area
Maybe contact the manufacturer and let them know your suggestions
Really can't understand the fan what are you a ompa lompa I ain't wanting to get wacked In the head everytime I am near it.
That AC unit is very loud. Did they find the cheapest unit they could. Or wait maybe that is the bathroom fan as Change is almost yelling over the noise
Not everyone wants to clutter up the top of their sink. The only thing I have on my sink is a very nice soap dispenser. Clutter is ugly.
The price is awesome. Paint it white on the inside and make it look farmhouse style. Put a small back porch on the back. A big shed for storage. It could really work.
Should have known the Amish wouldn't use wire racks 😏
Fine house. Good job
Price is amazing 😳

I want one!!
That's a great price. That's more in my range even adding the affiliated costs this is doable. The Amish are nice people.
Thank you for showing this it looks like it will still be standing long after we are gone love we can use our imagination to finish it 😊
You’re called the go-fer. You go-fer this and go-fer that.
Thanks!
For the craftsmanship, and the beauty of the wood, you would think this would be much more expensive! Very reasonable!❤
I think this is one of my favorite tours chance!!!
It was fun driving with you a few minutes...made this video more enjoyable..you should take us along more often...
Very nice, it looks well built. The only negative I see is the placement of the breaker box and the window unit.
Put in a mini split for air
You can cover the breaker box with a picture or piece of art.
I really like this one. I know it's well built and sturdy, if the Amish did it! That Corgi was super cute too!
Quality! It shows quality!
❤❤❤ pontotoc is loaded with talented amish! I love this and not a bad price!
I Love this! The simplicity of it is awesome. ❤❤❤
Thanks for showing this! I love the look of it!
Great vacation home with the two bedrooms and open main room. Very different, Chance.
Awesome 😎 I love it it looks very well built and I love the cabinets just beautiful 🤩
That is a beautiful 20 wide mobile home they built there the Amish people sure know how to build
Where’s the furnace?😊
My dad had a portable sawmill. He built his own house and help one of his brothers build his house. Looks a lot like this one. Just different floor planes.
I really like the inside and outside the air conditioning and all that good stuff so I would buy one. 👍
That is all I would need. I grew up in a 800 square foot home, and one wall air conditioner cooled the whole thing just fine. Of course, I wasn't in the South either.
Nice home I would love to have it out in the woods but anyway great video 👍 Thank you
I love that you show different options for people to think about ❤
The woodwork is amazing!!❤❤
Wish I had an Amish builder close to me, I'd buy four of these 😆
Gorgeous! Nice job.
They always do a good job
Nice. Thanks for the tour. Blessings.
Would be a great lake or hunting cabin
Add a dishwasher and it's perfect! Beautiful!
Love it. Would be cool to see the horse pulling it 💜
Such a well built home! I really love this!
I think it’s awesome. I love all the natural wood. Though I would choose a different color wood for the floors and kitchen cabinets.
I agree.
I love the whole layout just beautiful.
That's who I'd want to build mine the. AMISH people
Really NICE place.
What a beautifully built house!! I would love to own one!!
The only thing I wish it had more kitchen cabinets!!

Corgy: Yeah give me some screen time 😅
Did I miss something? I don't remember seeing a furnace. Outside of the south, you need heat in the winter.
That looks awesome !!!!
This is very nice! I like seeing these “out of the box” solutions to housing.
I agree, move the toilet closer to the window and put in a counter with storage underneath!
I didn't know the Amish had this type of nice big house
I really like this!!! I’m getting ready to retire and this is exactly what I’m lookin for!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Watching ya for some time now. This is one of the best ones yet. Decent price. Basic house.
That house is "AWSOME"! THIS GOT MY ATTENTION!
Very well built.
The Amish are too polite to say when they did not build something! Heavens!
Nice craftsmanship !
Thanks for the tour, Chance. 👍
This house is beautiful! I love it.
Put two Families in there with a common devider Wall and then you would have a classic southern shotgun shack house
What an absolutely gorgeous house.
Good afternoon. Good to see you again. 😊👍
Wonderful 🎉🎉🎉❤great job 👏 👍🏿 love ❤️ 😍 this
Nicely built!
Really like this!!
Chance I like to see double front doors in the center of house and a porch all the way cross the front other than that I thought it was GREAT . I would have liked the ceiling fan centered .
That is breathtaking
Absolutely beautiful wood in this home. I love how they contrast with the trim. The only thing I don't like is the 1 bathroom. At least have 1 1/2 baths.
Solid Chance! Excellent......
Liebe ❤ this one Chance!!!❤
Chance you did an excellent job! I think you found my house! I have land, etc.
I like a lotta things about the house, buf w/change some things also. I'm not a fan of all yellow pine everywhere! I like painted shiplap on some walls..& vertical applications in others. Love it great retirement home ❤❤❤
I love it! Thanks Chance, I have an acre + in the country (KY) I would love to put something just like this on. 🙏❤🙏
The ONLY thing I would change is to add a pantry.
The rest would be buyable items like a rolling kitchen island and such.
Chance what's the name of the Amish co that builds these homes ....do you know if they have a website
Chance, Great home & excellent price. I love all the cedar. I think I'd want the cabinets to be cedar too. So pretty. 😊
Absolutely beautiful
They did a great job!
Absolutely love it is it sold as a kit or do they do the walls insulation Electric and Plumbing we are retired and fixing to downsize please get back with me on this
