    Nice video. I'm also near you in CO, in some other psi gauge projects I've seen, they added a .1 uF capacitor in the circuit, which may help with the 1psi correction/fluctuation of the gauge: "In the case of the video, I took measured readings at the top end and came up with a 4.6, which is within 2.2% of the nominal. The capacitor for noise reduction may be better served decoupling power going into the sensor; therefore, the capacitor should be connected to the red power wire, then to the ground. " (In the original diagram, he had the capacitor between the ground and signal wires just before the pressure sensor). Good thorough video

    Nice project! I think a worthwhile and logical continuation would be making it into an electronic boost controller device.

      @@RustySWE yes in all places. Formula I explained below, but 1bar is about 14 psi

    Very nice.. Searched very long for something like this WITH a code to look at.
    Maybe interesting for those who a bit new to Arduinos: U need to download 2 extra libaries to get it going!
    Hint, if something is needed while build of the sketch, just search for it in the libaries manager.

    Hello! Thanks for the video and the code, i will show you my set up as soon as is ready, however i have a few questions and maybe you can help me out.
    This is the very first time i use an arduino, so i have been reading a lot and after successfully edit the layout i have 2 questions
    1. When you calibrate the sensor using this ( int boostmbar = map(analogRead(sensorPin),, , , ); ), how did you get the values? Im using a 3 bar GM map and i dont kow if the original values are in mVolts or what. I think the new ones are mBar right?
    2. barboost = (((rawval * 0.19) - 69.45) + 10); how does this work? , i gues the bar shows vaccum and boost?

    The way that most digital boost gauges work is that they take a reading immediately as they are turned on and assume that it is the ambient atmospheric pressure, and call that the 0 point. The VEI boost gauge in my old GTI has a button you can hold down while powering it on to force it to learn the zero position. fwiw, that gauge cost about $130, which is still too much. I'm interested in this for a car where there is no good place to put a 52mm gauge because the custom pod options are pretty limited.

    Thanks for this upload, I've just completed this little project and it looks great as I've put it in the air vent. I would like to use this script with a bigger screen how easy it to do that??👍🏻

    hi awesome gauge, but when it goes into double digits on the neg vacuum the numbers cover the max boost on the right side of the screen, how could i limit the neg boost reading to -9 to stop this.

    Hi great video .... Just had a good idea ..I think ...Couldn't we use two Map sensors (same make and model) with one connected to a A0 and the other to A1 and have one open to atmosphere and the other in the manifold and read both with the arduino and subtract one reading from the other this should 'automatically' adjust the boost gauge for the current atmospheric pressure and give a true boost pressure......good idea ..or not ???

    • @Gusmanbro

    great vid!!! im a novice in this and i have no clue of how the coding work.. i bought a 128x64 oled screen they only had a spi version which they said can work as I2C but it cant. i tried to connect the unit to my UNO board only using the diagram you gave and i uploaded the coding that you put in the link. obviously it did not work. after looking around on different sites i got it to work with dfferent wiring config and if i use the ssd1305test code... i then tried using your code again and it doesnt want to work .. which i am assuming that it is because the coding is for a I2C config. can this code be modified to work with my spi that uses the ssd1305 driver ... thanks once again i am a novice and have very limited knowledge of this

    Could someone explain the calculations in the code?
    ((boostmbar * 0.001) - 0.865) *14)
    Boostbar= boost
    0.001=?
    0.865= Denver pressure
    14=?
    Thanks

    • @Bremen323
      @Bremen323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      0.001 converts milibar to bar
      14 converts bar to psi (1bar is about 14 psi)
