    I’ve had mine installed in a chevy van for just about 3 years now and here are my honest thoughts on it for those who are considering buying this system.
    Just going to say the Cons I’ve noticed.
    1.)You lose about 2-3 feet of storage at the back of the decked drawers that becomes almost inaccessible unless you take the tools in front of them out because the drawers don’t come ALL the way out.
    2.) If you are on any sort of hill you will be either fighting to keep the drawers open or fighting to keep them closed.
    3.)Shape/design of drawers is an odd shape. Making organizing tools a bit more tricky. I spent a lot of time figuring the best way to organize tools in these drawers so they can be easily accessed.
    4.)Slick material. Tools that aren’t secured or stopped by a divider slide around everywhere including back into that hard to reach abyss of the drawers
    5.) Drawers get Stuck closed if something (in my case a speed square) gets wedged into the top of the drawer system. I had to yank and push the thing before it was finally free. This has happened several times and is usually because workers throw things into the drawer system carelessly. Still an issue that may arise.
    6.) Stuff has fallen behind the rear roller wheels and caused the drawers to not close all the way. So be careful not to store small things on top that may fall down into there. Otherwise you will be taking the drawers back out.
    And that’s about it. Will say there are better systems out there like the pack rat drawers we’ve had in our other van for 10+ years but they don’t look as good as these. And I’ve got things how I like them now.

    The company I bought mine from offered to install for $168. No brainer. They were done in 2 hours and took a lunch break during.. so.. they have installed many. So it was worth the extra to not have to work all day getting pissed off over stupid shot

    You could put a rubberized bed liner on top if you don't want anything to slide

    Seems like the Decked company could have sent it with more assembled parts instead of you having to work longer trying to figure it out.

    I’ve got one in my ford transit 250 midroof.. I’m very happ with it…. For a moment I had buyers remorse. But that only lasted 30 minutes… I lined the walls with 3/4” birch plywood.. setup Packout mounting plates and it’s the bomb. I love it.. is it worth the money?? For me it was.. for you.. only you can say

      What went through your mind in those 30 minutes? Do you have a cargo or passenger van? I'm thinking of one for my passenger van. You said you lined with plywood. Do you think I would have to remove my side paneling? Thanks

    Would this work for truck camping? Could you put a bed on top of it and sleep on it? Would it be strong enough for that?

    • @ProjectComplete
      @ProjectComplete  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there are a lot of people that use them for overlanding, camping and hunting. I think the weight rating is a couple thousand pound. Not 100 percent sure though, you’d have to check the specs. Click the link in the description. Should have a weight rating in there.

    hows the weatherstripping for keeping the dust out holding up?

    • @ProjectComplete
      @ProjectComplete  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far it hasn’t cracked or stopped working. Its not really designed to be a tight seal like an o ring. It slips under the upper lip of the top deck, so it’s more designed as a funnel. I haven’t had any water issues with weather, but if you were to spray it with a hose from the drawer side you would probably get a little water in it.

    • @bloajmj2680

      @@ProjectComplete gotchya, too bad for the money should be sealed 100% . Must made for contractors. Thanks for the info :)

    • @travisdoe4663
      @travisdoe4663 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The weather stripping is made of super thick rubber, I doubt it would ever wear out. It's more like a deflector to keep water that's running off the top of the deck from running into the end of the drawers.
