Interesting. The skrama has serious Viking Seax vibes. Almost Wharncliffe or sheep foot in function whereas the straight Ish blade would be good for a draw cuts in a fight. I learned that from a mentor who was a green beret. I’m a little obsessed with knives. Thank you for sharing the video.
Huge fan of the real 1930 to 60 butcher's knives and I have made scabbards for them... You know the ones actual butchers used. A couple have very heavy blades. On another note ... I also have a very good quality Bowie... great collection and discussion thanks again
My grandfather would say “you don’t butcher your calf with a butter knife you use your butcher knife “ (sounds more profound in French) which was his way of saying use the right tool for the job. The first time he said to me I brought him the wrong hammer. 😊
I either keep a RAT-2 or 7 on 6:36 all my equipment at the Homestead attached to my tractor side-by-side and four wheeler. They come in handy for lots of things snakes vines in my way when I’m going through the property also good choppers. Also have a RAT-2 attached to my get home bag in the truck oh yeah, and by the way, keep a seven in my jeep. Great video.
All the limited edition certified Rambo knives are gone , all 3 styles , I snoozed ! And now it’s too late ! Failure to commit , seemed expensive at the time , Bummer !
I’ll subscribe but need to know how u do it. I just got my 240 about 4 hours ago, batoned a few small pieces and wiped it down but it’s still looking used. I do love it though. Yours looks better than mine when I opened the box. The Esee had a hit of wood smudge but that skrama looks like the company show knife. How, please? Did you refinish that black? Mine is splotchy and rough on the black. I don’t mind I was expecting it but yours is perfect. If u can keep or get it back like that after a year you should name it Mary …or Conception because it is immaculate. I scrolled and didn’t see a knife cleaning video
@@Atheistbatman no secret, I wipe my knives and saws down with WD-40 after use. The black coating on ESEE’s is more durable than other colors. The Skrama’s coating is more like blueing and even more durable in my experience. If you zoom in on the Junglas you can see the coating is wearing in the middle of the blade. With the Skrama the main part of the blade has no coating so the no wear can be seen. These are my experiences.
Hello ! Just took a pizza outta the oven , I let it cool slightly before I cut it , that way the cheese doesn’t stick together , I’m guessing you have a homemade pizza recipe ?
There is a time and place for everything. When out and “surviving,” heavy knives are THE tool to have. Great video as usual sir.

The Skrama got my attention awhile ago,I believe I would find it useful.

I made a Bowie when I was in school. I enjoyed knife making. I should do it again someday.

Good points. Thanks.
Nice.. thanks MR 😎👍
A regular old colliins machete is mighty handy tool in the bush. I have cut down 4" thick dead pines with about four blows.

@@Atheistbatman I may do a knife cleaning video now that you mentioned it.
@@ModernRefugee worked great! I’m an idiot.
@@Atheistbatman no problem. Take care.
Very impressive knives MR! Is it harder to sharpen the knife that has the two different bevels?
No, you just have to adjust your technique. I use a sharpening rod either diamond or ceramic.

Definitely.
I have never really used large knives they never really appealed to me. But maybe I should reconsider.
I remember those cheap knives from the 80’s they made a lot of my off us boys didn’t they.
