i looked this up because i remember as a child my mom bought me a flower press and a journal and i enjoyed doing it so much! June 10 is also my birthday
hehe, doing this with a few flowers I found on a walk with my family :) my grandma apparently knew all about flower pressing and helped me a little bit
Hello what do u call the clear stamp for putting letters and numbers. Where can I buy that? I love your video. New subcriber here and newbie in journal making.
Do they not stick to the other page whehyou close the journal? I worried about this and taped my whole flower down which was ok if you wantyour flowers totally covered. But I love this set up !
This question is very old, but maybe someone else wondered about this too: no, pressed flowers are completely dry. They need to be, or else they'd rot. A properly pressed plant feels exactly like a dried plant (similar to paper, if you've never felt dried plants). They don't stick at all - at least most of them don't. There might be some select plants that secrete sticky juices, but they're probably also sticky when they're fresh. I'd guess if a live plant doesn't feel sticky, it won't be sticky after pressing as well.
Hello! Thank you for this sweet tutorial, I had a question, if you don't mind answering. I once tried drying flowers but overtime, they got black and ugly, lost all color and charm. So do dried flowers loose their charm overtime? Or is there any other reason for it. Thanks!!
Hey , I have tried this is the past from my observation what happened was the flowers got ticks and other idk bacteria worms something very small started eating them and they turned black with white dots on them , can you tell me has that happened to your flowers or anybody else in the comments section ? And how to avoid it ?
My guess is that those flowers already had those parasites, and/or you didn't press them long enough. I'm not an expert on this, but my advice would be checking the live plants for parasites or illnesses before you cut them, and also press them longer than you think you need to. Thicker leaves/petals (eg tulip) need to be pressed longer than thin ones (eg daisy).
this makes me want to go outside and collect flowers
exactly
Same
lol same
go for it
Oh wow. Like on your own? Weird.
