Thanks Manuel. It is great to see your kind and calm analytic mind back to comment our beloved QRP scene. Mindful and balanced opinion as usual. Meaningful, fun and 100% honest ❤
Great microphone and perfect sound !

I laugh at myself about videos like this because you are so thoughtful, meticulous, and prepared while I am so careless and sloppy. I usually go portable with a big box in which I toss everything I can think of. Then when I get to the site I rummage around in the box hoping to find what I need. :)
I too was hoping that Hans would create a radio that was an upgrade to the (tr)uSDX. I know he can, and I think he should. I'm just waiting with my wallet in hand for him to come out with one, a big brother to the (tr)uSDX.

Manuel, this is great! I power my TruSDX with a bicycle dynamo hub, using the "forumslader" kit rectifier. I've found that they pair very nicely. The forumslader circuit runs the TruSDX at full power and can also scavenge power from solar cells, hand cranks, etc, if you don't want to ride 50 miles just to charge the battery.

Hi, Never heard of that and needed to google it. Even though I like the idea, in times of cheap chinese stuff everywhere, the "Forumslader" seems way overpriced for what it does.... But if you already have it, it makes sense to use it. My bike has 5V Supply (for smartphone) by default on Board. Of course also possible to use it with (tr)uSDX ;) 73 Manuel; DL2MAN

@@dl2man Your bike has a much bigger battery, too! It is the better system for big ham adventures. The forumslader has a 12V output to run the trusdx at full power and also power-factor correction for the generator hub - a bank of capacitors, rather like an antenna tuner, that result in a more efficient scavenging of power from my poor, tired legs. The overall system converts hamburgers into QSOs!

Thanks Manuel - great location and good luck with your weight issue - I have the same problem. Beer and Whisky are so nice! Loved the QRP Labs review - Dave G4NOW in Greenwich London

I have the same "fishingpole" mast. They are great. I would be interested to know more about how do you use it and about the antenna as well.

Hi, wasn´t the setup clear from the video ? Antenna was also mentioned EFHW for 40/20/15/10m. Any specific question ?

Awesome! Now that I have a trusdx I can achieve even lighter and faster Pota by Bicycle adventures like the one I reported on Thomas’s QRPer Blog last year! Thanks for these tips!

Thanks for the video. I have a small kit based around the TruSdx and a raspberry pi that I take on the bicycle. One of the local POTAs is a bike trail.

Great video! Can you say a bit more about the paddle used?

    Fair statements about the QMX.
    Enjoy your bicycle!

Nice lightweight setup. Since yesterday I have my new bike.
The weather is a bigger problem this year 😂

Excellent timing. This is exactly what I've been thinking about doing as I ride a mountain bike in the local hills about three times a week. I just got back about an hour ago in fact. I only take my ht in a backpack when I go but had been thinking about hf on my trips many times. Cheers. 👍

SSB is my preference and hope someday it becomes a reality with an inbuilt battery and speaker maintaing the same form factor.
    Cheers!

I have build both (tr)uSDX and QMX (as well as lot of own experimentals)
Basicly I think from a technical point, the QMX indeed is highly advanced, mainly because of the big ass of a CPU used.
Still I'm not verry enthousiastic of it.
    * Not to easy to build (though the quality of thet parts and the manual is absolutely excelent !)
    * Software indeed is verry incomplete, (missing adjustable filters), and even if I'm a CW only guy, stil love to have SSB capability
    * Existing software is cumbersome
    * Being both SDR and software enthousiast, I'm just not a great fan of ARM CPU's, as they almost force you require to use manufacterer frameworks that in my opinion in general is often the cause of crappy firmware. Resulting in no interest to create firmware for it.
    * There is just to much in the little box, to be able to fix problems.
    * I managed to blow the switching powersupply and forgot about it, the (tr)uSDX is just more fun to me.
