It is the indicator for the height of the assembly, in England there are trailers with different heights and all the time the indicator is set according to the height of the assembly as in case the driver encounters a bridge with a lower height indicators l to remind him of the height of the assembly in order not to hit the bridge

im going to disagree with you here and here is why, you have to consider things like experience of the driver, previous routes he has done before, experience with the truck he is driving, he wouldn't coast like this if he wasn't confident in his ability to do the driving, so before you spit out the word unprofessional maybe look at them factors first
