    Bless you for this video. There are so many archeological discoveries in the land of Israel, Egypt, and Babylon that confirm names and people written in the Old Testament. These were names written down in the scriptures and found nowhere else until thousands of years later by modern or semi-modern archaeologists.
    Everything we find only proves the accuracy of the Bible. The fact that people see it and just go "eh" and give it no extra thought just shows hardness of heart; which is what God said would happen. It's all in front of our eyes and his book is the most popular on the planet; so we are without excuse.
    Jesus loves you and died so being forgiven would be as easy as believing on him and what he did! Praise the Lord Jesus! Amen.

    I know I am 9 years late, but this video has so much overwhelming evidence of Jesus, The Bible being true, and how it is more reliable than any other book in the world. So many people today don't understand how much evidence there is for Jesus and how He has been proven more likely to exist than any other ancient figure in history. I hope every doubter and unbeliever sees this video and or the arguments it possesses. After watching the video, I was left mind-blown. For sure re-watching this video every time I doubt!

      That's a very difficult question to answer. On one hand, I would want to obey a loving god...on the other, he would of course, have to show me he actually exists. Nevertheless, the Christian god is far from loving. And there are many rules in the bible that aren't followed. I guess "he" just wants us to pick the rules we want to respect? Have you given all you have to the poor? Have you killed Sunday workers? Surely you don't even follow all the rules. Argue as you may. ...it is futile, for it follows that there are contentions to the rules we should follow. Impact Video Ministries

      +NCR Veteran Ranger If over 500 people said they saw a a man jump out of an airplane without a parachute and survive, would you question it? Then almost all of them suffer heinous deaths for that claim, wouldn't it at least convince. Jesus performed crazy miracles that were seen by hundreds of thousands of people. After his resurrection he appeared to over 500 people at one time. Magicians have even admitted there is no illusionist in the world who could fake that. Maybe one or two could have been fooled but half of a thousand people? Very unlikely don't you think?

    • @EvilSkeleton01
      @EvilSkeleton01 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Impact Video Ministries The people at that time were pretty gullible we weren't the most smartest things in the world,and those people didn't bring evidence to the table to prove their claims.Also people can survive jumping out of a plane with no parachute sure they will probably fracture and break a lot of bones but it's nothing in comparison to coming back from the dead or walking on water.To me Jesus walking on water or performing other crazy miracles is absolutely stupid.We find no evidence of his existence in the bible just a lot of claims and no other source talks about Jesus.

      I would be sceptical either way, and just because you don't know why or how something happened does not mean God did it. Trust me I know the ins and outs of Christianity I grew up in the church I know the pseudo science and convenient revisions made to it to fit in with current science and moral opinion. Why don't we stone gays, or disobedient children anymore? Why do we allow women to speak in church when the Bible clearly states "I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet." 1 Timothy 2:12. If you're a woman who is in this craziness please think about it. Men have been using religion to control women for thousands of years.

      I would appreciate you if you can as well say "eye witness testimony of what's claimed in scientific research papers means nothing to me and just because they wrote it truly believing it does not mean it's true", since you haven't seen all the experiments they've conducted.

      Science is an organized data collection tool. The Bible is a brutally disorganized group of legends canonized into a single very immoral book. Science checks and rechecks religion covers up and recovers up to double down on old dogma.

    All one has to do is to take the time to do a surface comparison of all religions to see the differences. All other religions/faiths are of works and having to do things to earn salvation (including Roman Catholicism which is not true Christianity). All other religions/faiths say Jesus was a created being and not God/Creator or not sufficient in salvation. Of course, for those who have closed their hearts and minds there will never be enough evidence. : (

    @m.lk.town. 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    look I don't like people who lie so I just had to write this.
    what's wrong with this video:
    1. using "what if you're wrong?" is a very flawed argument i see a whole bunch from only christians. what if i ask you the same thing? what if you're wrong? how can you be sure you chose the correct religion?
    2. the "honesty test" is flawed because you can't use the bible to prove the bible. that's not how it works. you absolutely need an outside credible source.
    3. he said the earliest manuscript that exists is 50 years after jesus, which would be 50 CE. the closest we've even gotten to that is one supposedly dating back to 80 CE (that was incorrect and was actually dated into the early third century). the oldest one we actually have is dated in the late second century.
    4. using well known people from history (alexander the great) and asking why nobody questions his existence with only one biography 400 years past his life is just ignorant. alexander the great is, by far, one of the best-attested individuals from the entire ancient world. if you don't care to look up all the sources surrounding his life after making such a barbaric claim, then you don't deserve to share your opinion on the internet. and while it is true that many of our written sources concerning alexander the great are late, alexander towed an entire troupe of historians around with him on campaign to record everything he did, and ensured all the reports were favorable. reportedly he only allowed a single sculptor to ever produce his likeness, and he rigorously reviewed any depiction that was ever made of him (even on coins) in order to control how he was presented. alexander is almost a case by case study in how to make sure no one forgets you lived.
    (also, 24,000? I got 5,400.)
    5. the great majority of manuscripts on the K-Liste contain only a portion of the NT. only 61 manuscripts hold the entire new testament. that means 99% of greek new testament manuscripts contain a collection of some of the books, a single book, a few leaves, or even just a fragment of new testament text.
    6. every time i look up sources from the corroboration test, i get mixed results. some say 30 instead of 42, some only mention the atheist authors but say there were 10. i cannot believe what you do not provide. (also, mentioning someone in a text does not mean they mention all the miracles they supposedly did.)
    now here's the evidence we usually use to prove the existence of historical figures:
    (starting with the best you could have and working our way down.)
    Q: a body?
    A: no, but this isn't exactly fair from a christian viewpoint since he came back to life.
    Q: do we know where his tomb was? or even maybe his crucifixion site?
    A: surprisingly, no.
    Q: anything he personally made? (wrote, built, etc? even if its a copy of something he wrote?)
    A: nope.
    Q: any contemporary artifacts (visually) depicting him? (anything made by an eyewitness who knew him)
    A: no. and the shroud of turin has been debunked by scientists. it was dated to the 13th century.
    Q: do we have first hand accounts written by eye witnesses?
    A: you could point to the bible, but you wouldn't exactly be correct. Luke wasnt a deciple of jesus, he straight up says he's getting his information second hand. (Luke 1:1-4). fyi: no prominent christian scholar still thinks the gospels were written by jesus' deciples. the book of matthew and luke both pull most of their content from mark. and john isn't written until 90 CE. and everything is written from things jesus might have said. jesus would've spoken aramaic and the new testament was written in greek.
    Q: what about the 500 eye witnesses who saw jesus rise from the dead?
    A: one account (probably a second or third hand account) saying that 500 people saw him is not the same as actually having 500 different accounts.
    Q: what about paul?
    A: he says he didnt get any of the teachings from jesus first hand and that he didn't get it from the disciples either. (galatians 1:11-17)
    and even with eye witness testimony we know sometimes eye witnesses can't be trusted. we can use court cases to prove this. some people come off of death row because of DNA evidence proving they were innocent when eye witnesses got it wrong.
    I'm not saying jesus didn't exist, but the bible definitely shouldn't be anywhere near an end all be all for christians. I know there WAS a jesus that existed during the time people say he did (along with the many other people named jesus); nobody scholarly denies a jesus did exist, but we have no evidence that he did what he did, or that the bible is credible in any way.
    edit: also, isn't it a little convenient that your sources are christian sources?

    • @ImpactVideoMinistries
      @ImpactVideoMinistries  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +CharliXCX Angel Pascal's Wager was actually a ground-breaking use of the probability theory and the decision theory. So if that was all we could do, then that's actually a compliment. Thankfully, it's not all we can do. This video was designed to give a crash course in why we can trust the Bible. Naturally, if we included everything, people would probably not watch the video. Needless to say, there are many good books that give logical, historical, and archaeological evidence for reasons to trust the Bible. But ultimately, no matter what evidence we provide, it all comes down to your heart and what you do with the information provided. Only you can make the decision for Christ; we can only pray. Please choose wisely. :)

    I have some questions. I do believe that the Bible is true. However, I've heard many talked about discrepencies in the Bible. For example, the time the Jesus is crucified has discrepencies between different some books of Gospel. 2 Peter chapter 1 says that man wrote the words we read on the Bible today by holy spirit. So, why are there discrepencies in the Bible. Though the discrepencies are some small details in the Bible that does not change the essential messages of Bible, but discrepencies would make the stories less credible and thus making the messages of the Bible questionable. If the discrepencies come from the errors in the story telling between generations of eyewitnesses, then how would we know if the words of God is accurate and the exact way Jesus said it back then? Why would God inspire people to write things that have different details? This trouble me for quite some time.
    Another question that I've seen often is why the Bible tells us to not eat many things in the Old Testament and deemed them as not clean, but now we eat them all the time? This is the same for slavery, polygamy...etc. The answer that I used to tell people is that the Bible is not a law book, but a history book that records the history incidents, God's words, and His people. But this doesn't really explain why we don't still follow those things nowadays. And how do we choose which and what to follow in the Bible? Doesn't the freedom of choosing what or what not to believe makes this religion less believable and may be used for the wrong purposes to explain whatever is for our benefit? This argument/question usually appears in the gay marriage topic. The most common question people ask is why should we see sex between same sex as improper while we do many things that the Old Testament forbidden?

    Sorry to ruin the extremely positive comments on this video, I just have one question. It isn't trying to disprove or debunk anything, just for clarity of understanding.
    If the bible is the word of god, and writes about the creation and god being omnipotent etc..., why should we believe that this is true? He could just be making it up and telling people on earth that he is powerful and that they should spread that message so that he is worshipped.

      @kodijames6277 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Impact Video Ministries I 're-watched' the video and you are correct...it was a misunderstanding...so as soon as you respond to 'THIS' comment...I will delete my (original) comment. However, I have to give you 'props' for (at least) 'admitting' that the Bible is a "crazy" book...that took GUTS on (YOUR) part...which shows ME that you are (at least) CAPABLE of 'truth'. I'm sorry...but the INSANE verses that I find in the Bible (such as) "Happy is he who 'dashes' an (infant's) HEAD against the ROCKS" is just TOO 'CRAZY'...to be taken SERIOUSLY. If God DID inspire "such a verse" then he is obviously an EVIL entity...and not 'worthy' to be worshiped.

    • @ImpactVideoMinistries
      @ImpactVideoMinistries  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kodi James No need to delete your comment. You can if you wish, but you don't have to. Oh yes, the Bible is very crazy for sure. It's probably the single most debated book in all of history. We respect your opinion, but we also would like to clarify the verse you cited.
      So the verse you're referring to is found in Psalm 137:9. Now, the way you quoted it is a little misleading because it makes it appear as if Jesus said this or something. The passage is speaking of how the Israelites longed to return to their homeland. The Babylonians had captured them. This Psalm is a cry of longing to return to their homeland of Jerusalem. The verse before the one you referred to is calling for equal justice. In other words to do unto the Babylonians what they have done to them. The Psalmist is saying happy is he who will dash the head of the little ones heads against a stone, which is likely just what the Babylonians were doing to the Israelites.

    the narr just stated god's son Jesus Christ now Christians today are worshipping him.does that make any sense? why would you worship gods son instead of God himself? it's kind of like wanting to live with your dad when you didn't even know him and your mother was the one who raised you right

    • @ImpactVideoMinistries
      @ImpactVideoMinistries  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +lyderius johnson It's actually quite different from your analogy. We know from Scriptures like 1 John 5:7 that the Father God, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three in one. So when we worship Jesus the Son, we are also worshipping God the Father, and the Holy Spirit.

    The test I'm missing in the video is the Logical Test. I've seen a lot of "logical" explanations to the Bible or parts of it and, I must say, some of them may even have made some sense under some assumptions, but whenever it comes to a crucial paradox to which there is no escape, there comes some unarguable excuse like: "These are god's mysterious ways" or "As a prophet said: god's reason is madness to man". For example: did Judas Ischariot have free will since his role was crucial to the whole Jesus Christ story? So you mean he should burn for eternity in hell for a sin he was unconditionally predestined to commit anyway? So much about god being perfect...

      Well one possibility I think you didn't consider is is gods sovereignty over our free will, God could use someone who had already too far gone, example the Pharisees, they were used by Jesus to show his authority but by their own will rejected him and all that, you get what I'm saying. God didn't predestine the Pharisees to be so hard hearted, but used their stubbornness. Hope I wrote this clearly.

    What about the fact that Genesis contains two contradicting creation accounts? And the fact that neithet have any factual basis to be believed? The validity of the Bible falls apart within the first chapter.

    • @peterpyo5115
      @peterpyo5115 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Stephen, you statement that Genesis has "no factual basis" probably specifically refers to the first 11 chapters. If you are truly interested in a possible answer to your question, I invite you to read "Beyond the Firmament" by Gordon Glover. It represents a growing segment of Christianity that understands the principle of Accomodation in Scripture; God met people where they were at, and imparted eternal spiritual truths through THEIR current understanding of "how the world works." Thus, God imparted beautiful eternal truths of His Character, His desire for personal relationship with humanity, and his status as sole Creator, through the ancient cosmology of the Hebrews and other ancient near eastern cultures.

    • @marlinbundo2409
      @marlinbundo2409 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a great ad hoc rationalization, but it doesn't do much for the modern man. It only proves that God's chosen method of imparting truth, the written word, is a garbage medium that cannot adapt to advances in knowledge and understanding. No skeptic will be convinced by the line of reasoning "Sure God tells his followers to do horrible barbaric things, commands them to keep slaves and commit genocide, and gives them all kinds of bogus false knowledge about the way the universe works, but it was because he was communicating with ignorant savages at the time!!" Okay, well then where is the New Bible where God talks to us? Because the old one ain't working for me.

    don't DOUBT just believe a simple FACT that we're eternal, that the cosmos is a huge place and we're not the center of the universe, Just believe that God exist and for him 1,000 day's is like one day so while we spend 6,000 yrs here, out there in the other space only 6 day's pass, Eh Albert spoke about it, Time is not the same out there :) Anyway I start to accept and believe and Amazing thing had happen to me I'm bless over and over and over it's so Wonderful. Give the Bible a Chance it will change your life for the better ! Remember Matthiew 24:40 " 40"Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left." See beyond your mind....Men get to space is it ? So let imagine a powerful been with 10,000, 100,000 yrs in space ? Come on people THINK !!! :) And God bless you !

    Is the Bible full of contradictions?
    If you claim it is not then please tell me what day and time did Jesus die on/at.
    In answer to your question "are you 100% sure that the Bible is incorrect"
    My answer it categorically yes I'm 100% sure the Bible if incorrect.
    You claim to know the authors of the Bible, please show me how you know this?

    • @ImpactVideoMinistries
      @ImpactVideoMinistries  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Ryan Lowe Jesus died on April 3 AD 33 at around 3pm. See the National Catholic Register for more details: m.ncregister.com/blog/jimmy-akin/when-precisely-did-jesus-die-the-year-month-day-and-hour-revealed#.V9K85zQ8KJI
      Why do you think it's incorrect? Would you not say it aligns with the historical and archaeological evidence we've discovered up till now?
      Know the authors of the Bible? Do you mean personally? Not sure where you're getting that claim. That's obviously impossible since they were around long before us. Pretty much the Bible and few other historical documents account for all we have of the authors themselves. Is that what you're referring to?

      It's funny that on a video titled, "Why should I trust the Bible." You do the exact opposite.
      Why not post the passages from the Bible show that there is no conflict?
      I'll save you the trouble. In Matthew, Mark and Luke the last supper takes place on the first day of the Passover (Matthew 26:17, Mark 14:12, Luke 22:7). In John's gospel it takes place a day earlier and Jesus is crucified on the first day of the Passover (John 19:14)
      Here's a list (not full) of contradictions.
      infidels.org/library/modern/paul_carlson/nt_contradictions.html
      Then you revert to silly word games instead of supporting the claim in the video that we know who wrote the bible.
      Now to your questions
      1 already demonstrated.
      2 in small parts but on the whole no.
      books.google.co.uk/books?hl=en&lr=&id=GmaKmTVpeoAC&oi=fnd&pg=PR11&dq=scholarly+articles+archeology+contradicts+bible&ots=ye1AFzw6BQ&sig=-M92zkYZfiLPFVVsUx3WR4qWbFc#v=onepage&q&f=false
      www.truthbeknown.com/bibleflunks.htm
      There are Religous sites that will claim differently but the archeologists are mostly on the same page.

      I think what you are asking me to do is a bit unreasonable, you are saying that I should take a lot time out to represent your position and I have to say that you should watch and research the material necessary to support your position.
      Does the mother carry the inerrant word of the creator of the universe then?
      I'm sorry to say that in no way answer's the question but I commend your attempt as it is far more than most.
      Again it is down to those attempting to make claims about the Bible to do the foot work.
      Have a lovely day.
