I just gotten a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. My 2015 Ford Escape just broke down late Monday morning. I was at the Ford Dealership for a long time. I texted my sister on the bill to repair the engine. It was over 8,000 dollars. My sister contacted a car dealer there. I looked at the pictures of the 2 Ford Escapes that they have. They have a 2019 one in white and the one that I got. I’m happy to get the black one. I drove it for a test drive and even back home. I couldn’t sleep that night into early morning. I only had about 1 hour and a half of sleep. I was very tired last night. I went to bed before midnight. I texted my sister that I’m tired late last night. I loved the touch screen on it. I even figured out Apple Car Play on it. I don’t have a sun roof in it which is fine for me. The backup camera is bigger for me but, I really loved it. I did notice the car didn’t moved when it is in drive or reverse till I hit the gas pedal gently. I still have to get used to it being a push start and using the dial for the automatic transmission. I still have a feel to put my hand on the transmission from the old Escape. Even putting a key in to start up the vehicle a couple times. I got used to my Old Escape really quickly and got used to the size of it. It was liked driving a Ford Focus again back in 2017. I used to have a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 in SES model. That one car that I had for almost 7 years.
I agree with you on keeping the Escape in sport mode at all times. The issue is that you have to set it to sport mode every time you start your vehicle. It defaults back to normal.
Thanks Daniel! It can be done but you're probably looking at $1,200 or so to do it. It would be cheaper to do an aftermarket deck for $400 - $600 that has Android Auto / Car Play support
It's done through the little media screen under vehicle settings.. This video shows you how to enable or disable it: th-cam.com/video/7ESARozIVXM/w-d-xo.html
The SE trim isn't too far off price wise from the S. If I was going after an Escape it would at least be the SE trim level - but the Bronco Sport Base is also a good option!
I got the SE trim level but won't be keeping it for long. Ford needs to do better job with the seats. There is almost no bottom support where my bottom just sinks in. I can actually feel metal in the seats. My back is hurting so bad. My friends tried it and they all agreed.
Hmm I haven't heard of anyone mentioning that about the cushions. Have you mentioned that to the selling dealer and attempted to get it replaced under warranty? You could look at aftermarket seat cushions to try and alleviate the pain in your lower back
@@CarsWithSteve I tried everything. I even spent 300 dollar seat support cushioning but not working because seat itself just loses all the cushioning so the 200 dollar seat support also sinks down. I have driven many cars due to my job but Ford Fusion and Ford Escape are the only ones I have issue with the seats. Overall it is a nice SUV but I can't even drive 30 minutes with it.

I’m 220lb, took it for test drive 2 times, but never felt the seat was sinking down. Front and back seats seemed ok to me. On top of it, I own a 2020 fusion SE now and I feel the seats are comfy enough to drive for hours. Hmmmmnnnn….when someone complains about the fusion seats, it just gets me puzzled but plz pardon me for the different findings and opinions.

Probably a good call that you bought a new one rather than $7k repair. It’s always tricky.. when do you stop repairing and just replace?

If only there was a way to lock the mode you're in!
Great video, any idea if it is possible to upgrade the S trim 4" screen to the 8" with android auto?

Maybe you'll get a chance to review the 2022 Ford Escape SE, haven't found any video on TH-cam yet.
Those should be showing up on lots in the next month or so! Will keep an eye out for one
How do you stop that? Check your back seat

great video but what model do you think is the best value?

Can replace the 4 inch screen with 8 inch screen like in the other models
Yes but it’s pretty costly to do it. If you just want Android Auto/Apple CarPlay you could look at an aftermarket deck - Panasonic has some good ones
