great live band and still going strong, Stan Webb is a very underrated player, remember seeing them at the orchid ballroom in purley in the 60's, Stan was flying round the floor on his back while playing, great days

Good times when you could hear Chicken Shack, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Savoy Brown and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Thanks for this post.

Agree there. Wish I could have been 20 years old living in London to see all these bands. Oh, and dont forget the Climax Blues Band. They were at their peak up to 1971 too.

I actually got to see all of Savoy Brown, Chicken Shack and John mayall but those concerts were all in the 80s and 90s, and not the same. Didnt see Peter Green, but I went to a Peter Green Tribute at the Shepherds Bush Empire in the mid 90s too

They played tracks from the album "Imagination Lady" on the radio in Canada in 1972. I bought the album. A keeper. It would go to a desert island with me.

    Corrections:
First of all this is not from the January 20, 1968 edition of "Bouton Rouge" - the appearance on that show is this here: th-cam.com/video/DtoKnQROnmU/w-d-xo.html
Furthermore it ain't "Bouton Rouge" AT ALL - this footage was from a programme called "Forum Musique".
And finally it's not from a 1968 performance, but was recorded in 1969. The given date of April 26 is most probably the day of the broadcast, as Christine must've left the band by that time already.

I agree. Same can be said about Savoy Brown and Climax Blues Band at the time. Its just normal though. So many Classic Rock bands are in the same boat.

@@Kloashut True. It is always nicer for our favourite bands to play in small clubs, pubs etc where we can see the whites of their eyes and chat with them later. I saw Chicken Shack approx 4 times during the late 80s and early 90s and chatted with Stan. I actually filmed him once, but only from the side of the stage and secretly. Not really worth uploading though

@@groovedohg Absolutely. I had the best concerts [also from famous bands] in small youth centers. During the concerts the musicians roamed, while playing, through the room. And the after party's were the best!

EC likely never actually lived the blues to the extent Green and Webb did; too busy coasting on his dubious reputation. Things came too easily for him.

Bit unfair. This was Stan’s band, he was the front man. Christine was just starting out, she said on BBC recently that at this time she’d only just learned blues piano. So was happy to play subordinate role. Shame cameraman didn’t get more shots of her though!
