It is delicious! I mix it with a bunch of cinnamon for a cough syrup, and flue medicine. Since I've been doing this, my family has not gotten sick. It's a great way to boost your immune system, and it tastes good!
I have plenty! We have so many wild shrubs out here, it's unreal! I can easily get 30 lbs of berries on 1 bush, and there are over 25 plants in one wild field I pick from. You know, you can juice your own elderberries, and team up with a local bee keeper. You could make some money on an all natural elderberry syrup, or you could can the juice and sell it! If it's there, you might as well help your neighbors or trade the extra resource for things you may need.
You could, but I don't recommend it. They have poisonous acids in them that unless they are cooked, they will make you sick, depending on how many you eat. Some people react right away with a few bites, and others don't react till they had a handful. I just wouldn't risk it. It's much safer to eat elderberry after they have been cooked. The dark variety (black, blue, purple) are edible after cooking, but the light variety (red, orange, yellow) are poisonous and could kill you, no mater if you cook it or not. So before you pick elderberry and eat it, make sure you know exactly what you are eating. There are some poisonous look-a-likes out there, so please make sure you educate yourself properly before you eat wild foraged foods in the woods.
