@@joephilly5624I don’t see anyone really beating Spencer, Rei Higuchi can be turned, Micic can also be turned and his offense is limiting, Arsen Harutyunyan can be turned easily, Zelimkhan Abakarov doesn’t have as good offense or defense as Spencer, and Uguev is very defensively savvy but his offense definitely needs work. I don’t see RBY beating Spencer either.
@@someguynamedsteve3753 the only way I see Spencer taking an L is if he gets injured, maybe RBY can pull a rabbit out of his hat tho? Either way I can't wait!!!
Thank you for uploading this. I planned for this match a day ahead of time and got called out on a warrant. So great 2 see two legendary HAWKS going at it. GO USA!!!
Ah, this explians the swizzle by the clock and what appears to be Gilman giving up with what appears to be 1:08 on the clock when the fall is called, yet drops to :02 when the pin is announced. Lol , faith restored in Thomas Gilman. Great job Spencer Lee! So I recorded the full four hours on USA, but for the life of me can not find match #2 of Lee vs Gilman anywhere in it? Was this televised in the USA coverage, and if so where in the finals lineup is it? Thats why I came to youtube to watch this match. Thank you for posting it and any response. Im scratching my head over it much like the supposed clock scandal I thought I witnessed. Lol
The wrist elbow control was nasty. Spencer is strong and smart. He locked the elbow with his chin to free his left arm to help elevate the hips. I’m guessing Gilman has never experienced a vice grip move like that in International wrestling.
@@joshuarubin6641 I watched this live but lost track of the time. Right before the pin, the clock shows a minute; then it shows two seconds. Anyway Gilman was stuck - there wasn't any fight off his back possible. And to your point, even if he could have gotten out of that combination, he knew it was over.
@joshuarubin6641 ,TG should have fought off the pin. Sure the match was over, but to give Lee a pin will be a huge mental advantage next time they wrestle, it will be a different mental edge Lee has over Gilman , different if it would have been a close win by points match.
Whats crazy is that the clock showed 1:08 at the time of the fall. Once the pin was announced the clock dropped to :02 seconds. Rewatch and see what took place. The t.v. commentator called :50 seconds left, I heard that earlier, but the clock in the top left was doing its own thing? I think thats where I and tge original poster of this comment were confused by the effort of Gillman at the end.
@@l.rongardner2150 But Gilman has the superior training coaching and training partners. Yet he regressed at PSU and lost to Lee who was regressing in college.
One of the most legendary matches. Thank you for uploading.
Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to post bro, so stoked for Spencer!!
My pleasure my guy!!
thankful for this upload! I suspect Lee's top game will work even better on the international wrestler who aren't used to defending folkstyle turning
I appreciate your time my good sir! But I couldn't agree more Lee is a dawg he's going to medal but someone's going to have his number

It looks like the guy in red didn't even fight off his back.
He just got turned twice, was down 8-2 with 1 second left. The match was over, that's why Gilman didn't try and fight off the pin

What happened to Gilman at PSU? Why did he leave Iowa?
Spencer Lee.

I actually agree with you he lost to Ramos... Maybe it was the pressure? He's also wrestled injured a shit ton (Spencer Lee)
@@joephilly5624 yeah and Ramos wouldn't be a threat to Gilman. It makes little sense.
I think Spencer was favored by Tom and Terry because he was the guy lifting the college program, that they coach.
Is it just me or did Gilman just give up?
I noticed that too I almost feel like David Taylor did the same 😞
He was broken
@@TheCreator43219 it was sad to watch honestly I'm a fan of both but they both deserve to represent the US
He was just stuck. He couldn't roll through like you can in folkstyle, would have pinned himself rolling through.
Yani wasn't into his game either
